Into the Depths

~Izuku POV~

How did it get to this? I mean, it was supposed to be a very simple day! Get to Fish-Man Island. Take a few pictures on all the best sights to make an album for mom. Find any remaining members of the Sun Pirates living around here and have a nice chat that hopefully don't end in a fight. I seriously don't want to have to fight Jinbei! And yet, here I am. Swimming for my life away from guards, who are just doing their job, and trying not to get caught cause I don't want to make a bad impression.

"I was just trying to help!" I yelled out as I engaged in evasive active, dodging spears that they were throwing at me. 'This is gonna be a very long day.' I mentally groaned with a facepalm, narrowly dodging another spear.

One of the guards managed to actually get a hold of my leg, shocking me just enough for him to try and cuff me. Before he even got the chance to do so I had used my free leg to kick him away. Grabbing hold of his as I spun around and threw him at his comrades. Spewing out apologies as I continued to speed away from the understandably pissed off soldiers. I am really not helping my case right now.

Suddenly, I was hit with a massive surge in the currents and thrown away through the water. The merman soldiers of the platoon has seemingly began gripping at the water itself as threw it at me. Once again sending me through a disorienting loop.

'Goddamn! That's so cool!' I grew excited for a few moments before refocusing my efforts

'Goddamn! That's so cool!' I grew excited for a few moments before refocusing my efforts. Straightening myself up as I saw they they had sent me back to where we started, near the castle where I would assume more guards would be coming. "SHIT!"

"Surrender!" A guard had ordered as I am now pretty much absolutely boned right now.

"I WAS JUST TRYING TO HELP!" I raised my hands in defeated as I let out a long exasperated yell of annoyance. "For the love of god! I was just looking for an entrance! I'm not from here so how the hell am I supposed to know where anything is!?"

They began to converge on me, and considering the odds were looking to be twenty to one, I am most certainly boned. So its either a peaceful surrender and I most likely get locked up or I fight and run away to never return. Either way I'm probably never getting pictures for mom so I think the choice should be rather obvious right here.

The loud blaring sound of sirens carried through the waters from the palace, getting their attention of of me thankfully. I could help but be concerned on what was happening but I knew that interfering would just make this worse.

"Attention! Large unidentified object is making its way to the palace! Prepare for countermeasures!" The voice of someone over the loud speakers caught my attention as the currents once again shifted.

I could feel it coming. The sea was warning me that it was coming from the same direction as the other objects. So this was likely the same work as whoever was responsible for that. And it was definitely big if I could feel it all the way over here. Seeing as I have no other option, I swam away. Right in the direction of the giant as hell warship that was making its way there!

"WHAT THE FUCKING HELL?!?!?!" I yelled as I swam my way over to the ship soaring through the waters

"WHAT THE FUCKING HELL?!?!?!" I yelled as I swam my way over to the ship soaring through the waters. 'How the hell am I gonna stop this thing?' I thought, thinking about destroying it entirely. 'No, whoever is sending these thing is after something. And this thing is likely loaded with more weapons and explosives.'

I quickly made my way under it and tried my very best to start pushing it with all the power my legs would give me. My best best would be to try and veer it off course. It won't be much but it will at least buy them enough time to actually stop this thing. Ocean Step can only give me so much push though, but I just need to get it away.

"Merman Combat!" I heard a new voice, this is just gonna keep on getting worse isn't it? "Ultramarine!" The ship was blasted by a huge water surge, similar to what the soldiers did to me earlier. Luckily it gave me a bit more momentum to start moving the ship.

With that breathing room, I was soon joined by another person who started pushing the boat alongside me. A fairly intimidating merman with an enormous frame and large muscular arms that could probably crush me if he wanted to. Though he had an aura about him that made me doubt he would.

"You have my thanks, young sir, for your assistance on this matter

"You have my thanks, young sir, for your assistance on this matter." He grunted as his tail moved at an incredible pace to push the boat away.

"Is this a regular thing?"

"Unfortunately so, but they've never been so bold as to throw a ship." He answered, a hardened glare making its way upon his brow. "I can see what you are trying to do but it won't do much good. This was thrown by a devil fruit holder and it won't stop until its destroyed or it hit its target."

"Damn it!" I yelled in exasperation. "And there could very well be lots more inside this thing. Explosives for all we know! How unlucky can one day get!?"

"I understand your anger but focus! We need to destroy this and none of the soldiers had a enough power to do so! An if you're right about possible explosives, more damage could be done!"

"Then we need as much power as we can get and push it away as far as we can!" I yelled out, now taking notice of the soldiers surround us, helping push the vessel away. "Okay! I have an idea! One that is probably going to end badly but it will work! I just need you guys to keep pushing this away as far as you can!"

"A bad idea is better than nothing! Just do it!"

"Alright! Be ready to run when I get back!" I yelled as I used Ocean Step to dash away, clean out of their line of sight.

~No POV~

Izuku sped away from the ship as fast as he could, stopping when the people were far out of sight. He looked and saw that they were indeed managing to move the ship away. Taking in a deep calming breath as he once again used his Ocean Step to move down lower to increase the distance. Once feeling he was far enough, he sped his way back to the boat with reckless abandon.

Growing in speed and momentum as he dashed faster and faster back to the ship. Mind racing as his heart pounded with adrenaline. Despite the risky danger he was in, he let out a smile as his legs flared into over drive. He clenched his knuckles readily as he began spinning on an axis, looking as sinning saw cutting through the waters.

"Get out of the way idiots!" He yelled out as he approached his target. His smile not wavering as the water bent around his fist in a mighty torrent.

"RETREAT!" The shark merman  ordered as he and his troops swam away, looking in awe at what they were about to witness.

"Sea Dragon...." he growled as he cocked his fist back. "Collapsing Current!"

The mighty blow surged through the hull of the ship, cracking and shattering its board into splinters

The mighty blow surged through the hull of the ship, cracking and shattering its board into splinters. They let out great cheers of celebration at the victory as the pieces of the destroyed vessel fell through the waters. But something wasn't right? There was something sparkling in the distance that had caught their attention. It was then that they had noticed a frightful sight. Their worries proved true. The ship was filled with bombs.

Izuku's eyes widened in fear as his body sprang back into action. Seeing the sparks starting to fly through the water as he tried to escape it, only to be sweep away in the blinding explosion. The onlookers watching in fear at the blinding light that had engulfed the brave boy.

Smog flickered as the remnants of the vessel sank down through the waters below. With haste, the platoon leapt into into the fray in search of hope that the boy had survived. None the wiser to the plume sinking down to the bubble below towards the island. Plummeting fast as it sunk into the skin of the bubble, into the city.

In a gigantic throne room, stood a tall bearded muscular merman. A red nose dawned his face, accompanied by his small eyes and flowing curly orange hair. This was the king of the Ryugu Kingdom, Neptune.

"Any news of the stranger, Fukaboshi?" The King asked his eldest son, the shark merman who was the one who spoke with Izuku prior

"Any news of the stranger, Fukaboshi?" The King asked his eldest son, the shark merman who was the one who spoke with Izuku prior.

"No Father. There has been no evidence that he had perished from what our soldiers could gather." He explained with a sorrowful expression. "The force of the blast was great, but it shouldn't have sent him far. We are currently still searching the seas and the island cities fro him."

"Such a strange instance to have happen! So La Ti Do!" Spoke/sang a tall thin merman man with wide eyes, long dark pink hair and beaver like teeth.

"Perhaps this was staged? We have no known records of a fish-man matching his appearance

"Perhaps this was staged? We have no known records of a fish-man matching his appearance. Jinbei himself even confirmed that the Sun Pirates had no members looking remotely like him."

"No. I don't believe even the ruffians of the fish-man district would think of such a thing." Fukaboshi spoke adamantly, though glare did become present on his brow. "Violent curs the may be but they have a sense of camaraderie."

"That's true! And remember there is the possibility he wasn't even from around here! Akkamanbo!" Cheered a rotund merman who danced in the hall during the meeting.

"I suppose so, but even if that were the case, why would he come now of all times?" Neptune stroked his beard as he spoke, thinking over the situation. "And so soon after Big Mom sent her messenger to us. Its frightening what is happening."

"Father, I know that this may be out of turn but I have no doubt in my mind that this mystery man is not a danger to us." Fukaboshi said, remembering the look in his eyes as they spoke. "His eyes held nothing sinister within them, and from what some of the guards had stated he had repeatedly said he was just trying to help."

"Troubling indeed. Let us wait and see where this leads us. Get in contact with Jinbei and see if he'd be willing to help us. This young man bore the mark of his crew so I know he'll seek out answers."

"Understood Father!" The three collectively answered in unison.

"Ugh~" Came a groan from a familiar tuft of green hair shifting under the covers of some rather pink bed sheets. "I feel like I got hit by a train."

"A train would have been far more forgiving honestly." A feminine giggle rang to his ears as he turned his head to look for its source. Unable to hide the blooming blush that grew on his cheeks as he was met face to face with the first mermaid he'd ever seen.

"Er, um...." He gulped down a nervous breath as he shakily tried to avoid staring. "W-where am I exactly, Ms...?" He asked with a slight stutter.

"Camie, and you're in my house silly." She giggled a bit seeing his embarrassment. "You caused quite a bit of commotion when you fell from the ocean. I was worried you'd be out of commission for a while." She said as she place a cup of steaming liquid beside him. "Luckily the doctors we called managed to patch you up good."

"Well, I've always been a pretty quite healer." He nervously chuckled as he drank his drink.

"Oh! Before I forget my friend might attack you later since you landed on her house when you dropped by." She gave a caring smile, not realizing the load she just dumped on the young man.

"Say what?!" He called out in shock, almost choking on his drink.
