“Sooo, why were you with Zana-cchi?” Kyo asked, their question obviously directed towards Akko.
“We were just hanging out.” Akko shrugged. It took her a second to realise what Kyo truly meant and she lightly slapped their arm. “It’s not like that, idiot.” She glowered jokingly. Kyo and Anri laughed and Akko couldn’t help but smile at the two.
They held a playful conversation as they walked to the Hanagaki residence. Akko felt at home with the two, even though one was a descendant of her killer. If Izana had asked her if she was angry at Kazutora for what he did, she would have told him no.
She wasn’t angry, she didn’t hate him, she was simply disappointed. She was disappointed in him for betraying her brother, she was disappointed in him for betraying her, but most importantly she was disappointed in herself for not trying to help.
As Akko began to realise that she was spacing out, the conversation turned to Akko, which quickly snapped her out of her thoughts.
“Hey A-cchi, I wanted to ask you before, but what is your sexuality?” Anri asked. Akko was taken aback by the question, but answered nonetheless.
“I haven’t really given it much thought, to be honest. Although I’d have to say that I find beauty within someone’s personality more than their looks or gender.” Akko shrugged. Anri and Kyo nodded as the trio arrived at the Hanagaki residence.
“Mom! We’re back and we brought a friend!” Anri called into the home.
“Okay!” Her mother replied, a large grin on her face as she rounded the corner, obviously coming from the kitchen. Her smile was mostly directed at Akko, who she greeted enthusiastically after the dual-haired teen took off her shoes.
“You must be Bakugou Akko, Kyo and Anri talk about you a lot.” Their mother said, shaking Akko’s hand with a smile. A faint blush crossed over both sibling’s faces as they groaned.
“Nice to meet you too, Hanagaki-san.” Akko greeted, a smile on her face.
“We’re going upstairs, so bye.” Kyo said before grabbing Akko’s hand and running up the stairs with Anri following.
“Goodnight!” Their mother called up after them. Kyo dragged Akko to their room as Anri went through her clothes for something Akko could wear.
“So, why did you call Zana-cchi older brother?” Kyo asked since they were alone in their room.
“He’s like an older brother to me, plus he told me I could call him that.” Akko shrugged. Kyo hummed as if they didn’t believe her, but left the topic alone. Soon enough Anri came to Kyo’s room and gave Akko a pair of shorts and a hoodie to wear and directed her to the bathroom to change as the foster siblings changed in their rooms.
“Have you been training for the exams?” Anri asked once the trio had returned to Kyo’s room— which was the largest out of the two foster siblings’ rooms.
“Nah I haven’t, though I doubt I’d need to train much. My quirk is pretty good as is and I’m in pretty good physical condition, but…” Akko trailed off looking at the wall in thought. “It’d be nice to train my endurance and Quirk control.”
“We can help!” Anri immediately offered with a large grin on her face that almost made her look both terrifying and adorable at the same time.
“Yeah, we both have great Quirk control, plus you can throw your “grenades” into my pockets of time.” Kyo backed Anri up, opening a small pocket of time in their left hand before closing it again. Akko nodded with a smile.
The topic then moved onto what movie they should watch, the unanimous vote ending with Shrek 2. Feeling her phone buz in her pocket, she checked it to see a FaceTime call from her brother.
“What?” Akko asked after answering. She had her phone set up against Kyo’s dresser so that she was fully visible to Katsuki along with Kyo and Anri sitting in the background eating the snacks they were supposed to be saving for the movie.
“Where are you?” Katsuki asked, it sounded as if he was annoyed, but Akko knew the annoyance wasn’t directed at her.
“At a friend’s, I didn't feel like going home.” She replied with a shrug. She heard what sounded like her mother speaking to Katsuki as her brother looked offscreen at something.
“The old hag wants you home by nine tomorrow night.” Katsuki said before hanging up. Akko rolled her eyes and turned her phone before turning to look at Kyo and Anri.
“Put the popcorn down damn it!”
