Three
A year later, the Bakugou twins entered their second year of middle school. The youngest, Katsuki, was placed in a class below Akko. She began to notice a shift in Katsuki’s behaviour at school and at home due to all the praise he received for his quirk. Akko’s behaviour had shifted to, if she was being honest.
She only truly noticed her shift in attitude when she had gotten her second tattoo two weeks into the school year.
She had gone back to the same place and this time, she placed the tattoo on her left collarbone. Her family didn’t know about the tattoos, which she didn’t bother to tell them about. Akko began to realise she had begun to act like her past life’s self.
She skipped school, but still had good grades. She lied to her family about where she was on the days she got her tattoos. She had become like her past brothers too.
She was kind to many and she would stand up for others like Sano Shinichiro.
She was a passionate person towards her younger twin, but was rude and ruthless towards certain others like Kurokawa Izana.
And finally, and most shockingly, she had a somewhat childish outlook, she would often play pranks on her friends, and she cares a lot for her friends. Almost exactly like her former twin, Sano Manjiro.
If anyone had noticed her bipolar personality, they never mentioned it.
That school year flew by in a blurr. Currently, Akko sat in her final class of the day. Her teacher entered the room and began to speak.
“As third-year students it's time to start thinking seriously about your futures and what you want to do with your lives.” He began, holding up a stack of papers.
“These are career application forms. I’ll be passing them out at the end of class, they also need to be turned in by the end of the week.” The teacher said. Akko could hear loud cheering from across the hall, knowing it was her brother’s class.
“Bakugou-san,” the teacher called towards the dual-haired teen. When she looked away from the window, he started talking again. “The principal wishes to see you after class.” He said. Akko gave a nod, and class began.
Class was over in a flash. After grabbing her bag, Akko left the classroom and made her way down to the principal’s office. Knocking on the door, she heard the principal tell her to enter, and she did.
“Bakugou-san, please, have a seat.” He said, gesturing towards one of the two chairs in the room. She shut the door behind her and took a seat in the opposite chair of the one he motioned to, crossing one leg over the other. The principal sweat dropped at her behaviour, but cleared his throat anyway and began to speak.
“As you may know, your brother is aiming to get into the hero course at UA High School.” He started, earning a nod from the teen whose patience was growing thinner by the second.
“A letter addressed to you came from UA this morning. I haven’t a clue who it’s from exactly, I haven’t opened it.” He continued. The principal opened a drawer in his desk and pulled out an envelope. He handed it over to the girl who took it with a blank expression.
After a few more words, the principal let her leave, and she did. Akko left the school behind and looked down at the letter she still had in her hand. Scoffing, she put the letter away in her bag and made her way to the subway station. She texted her mother to let her know that she wouldn’t be home for a while and not to wait up for her.
She hopped on a training heading for Shibuya, Tokyo, and took a seat on one of the benches in the train.
It was a long train ride- two hours- but eventually she arrived at her destination. Grabbing her backpack, Akko left the subway train and the station behind her.
Walking the streets that hadn’t changed in over 100 years, Akko made her way back to the tattoo shop where she got her two tattoos and made her first real friends. Tachibana Yuuko and Ryuguji Sekien ran the shop along with three others, Hanagaki Kyo- who reminded Akko of Takemichi, Hanemiya Anri- who reminded her of Kazutora, and finally Kurokawa Izana- who looked exactly the same as her former older brother.
Entering the shop, she was greeted by Anri and Kyo who were cleaning up after a long day.
“Hey A-cchi!” Anri greeted, sending the dual haired teen one of her rare smiles. Akko smiled back.
“Akko-chan, can you flip the sign for me?” Yuuko asked, looking around the corner from her station.
“Sure, do you want me to lock the door as well?” Akko asked. Yuuko nodded and the dual haired teen caught the keys that were tossed towards her from Seiken. She did as requested and gave the keys back to the tall blonde before all six of them made their way to the upstairs lounge the shop had to offer.
It was around 5:45 by the time everyone was settled.
“A-cchi, who’s the letter from?” Kyo asked, holding up the letter they had pulled from her bag while looking for snacks. Akko shrugged.
“No idea.” She replied, not bothered by them going through her bag- it was normal. The sound of ripping paper brought Akko’s gaze over to the blonde.
“Says here it’s a recommendation letter from the principal himself.” Kyo said, reading the first few lines.
“What the hell?” Akko asked no one in particular as she took the letter from the blonde’s hands. Reading it over, she grunted.
“It is. Apparently he caught wind of the fight I got into the other day and wanted to recommend me for the hero course.” She scoffed before placing the letter in her bag.
“You’re not going to go are you?” Anri pouted, her arms crossed over each other.
“Given the fact that the principal himself sent the letter, kaa-san would want me to go.” Akko groaned. They all sighed in contempt. The rest of the night carried on like normal with the group watching a few movies before they all had to retire for the night.
