Charles Xavier/Erik Lehnsherr - "You Need To Wake Up Because I Can't Do This Without You"
“You need to wake up because I can’t do this without you.”
Charles didn’t respond. The monitor beside his bed beeped steadily.
“Someone needs to be the good influence of them,” Erik continued. “And I’m not up for that job.”
Nothing.
Erik hesitated. What else could he say? He’d said so much, anything, everything he could those past few weeks. Charles hadn’t stirred.
The possibility of him going this alone was becoming more and more real every passing day.
In the beginning, he would’ve jumped at the chance, the opportunity to lead the X-Men down his own path, following his vision.
But then he got to know Charles, with his bright smiles and blue eyes, his wit and charm.
It was worth a few sacrifices to his own plans to stay in Charles’ light.
“Ich Liebe Dich.” I love you.
It was the one thing he hadn’t said, but the thing he’d wanted to most.
He waited a few seconds, then stood up. He was at the door when he heard a gasp behind him.
“Erik?”
