Cable/Deadpool - "You Don't Need To Protect Me"
“You don’t need to protect me.”
“I protect the people I care about,” Nathan told him.
“I’m a merc,” Wade said sadly. “I go against all your save-the-world views.”
Cable ran a hand down Wade’s spine. “I think you can be saved.”
“What if I don’t think I need saving?”
Cable hummed and kissed his head. “I know you,’ he reminded him.
“What if I can’t be saved?”
“You can,” Cable said determinedly.
Wade sighed and leant against him. “Isn’t there some rule about not trying to change the person you love?”
“You’re a good person, Wade.”
“Underneath the crazy and the killing, sure.”
“Exactly.”
Wade sighed again. “You can’t mold me into a perfect boyfriend.”
“I’m in love with you,” Cable reminded him. “It’s clear perfect boyfriend material isn’t what I’m after.”
Wade frowned. “Not sure if that’s a compliment or not,” he admitted finally, “but it did sound very romantic.”
