“Please don’t argue.”
Erik’s mouth shut, stopping the flow of angry words he was going to throw at Charles.
Charles sounded so tired.
Erik leant back in his chair. “Charles.”
Charles closed his eyes. “Erik,” he replied in the same tone. “Not today. Not here.”
Here in the cell.
A thousand and one arguments.
Erik pinched the bridge of his nose. He wanted to keep arguing, debate till Charles finally, finally, saw things his way. Make Charles see why he was here, what he was doing.
But that tone….
Erik picked himself off the chair and moved to plant a kiss on his head.
“For tonight, schatz,” he told him.
Tonight they wouldn’t argue.
