Nanashi could feel the shuttle lifting off and relaxed into the jumpseat. There were no windows in the crew area so he closed his eyes, bringing up the memory of pictures he'd seen of Earth taken from space. A small blue and green ball that would slowly fade from view.
With Middie's betrayal and the mercs gone going to space seemed to be the best choice. He needed to get away, go some place new, be someone different. Life as he knew it was moldering somewhere far below him and it was time to start again. To find a place, and maybe even a name, to call his own.
