"You shouldn't spoil him, Ray, it will only encourage his bad behavior."
Ray grinned then made a show of tossing Dief half a doughnut which the wolf caught on the top of its arc with an air of smugness. "Ah, come on Frase, it's his birthday. You should spoil him a little."
Fraser stiffened, insult clearly showing on his face. "I took him to the park for an extra hour this morning and there is a nice piece of moose liver in my refrigerator to go with his evening kibble."
"I'm sorry." Ray offered Fraser the last doughnut in the box, a maple frosted crueller. "I didn't mean anything by it. You're a good wolf dad. The best."
Mollified Fraser accepted the sweet and took a smile bite. "Thank you, Ray. It means a lot that you noticed."
