you owe me 100,000 hugs this lifetime
———
She woke up from a nice dream.
Becky and her were visiting the beach during their free time. Becky was wearing a light, floral printed dress that suited her quite nicely. They walked along the beach, getting close to where waves were washing upon the shore as the sun was setting.
Dream her turned to Becky and gave her a hug from behind. Freen knew she was hugging Becky tightly as if she yearned to be attached to her younger friend permanently. She still felt that yearning quite deeply as it lingered even now, she patted her chest. And that was all she remembered, having just woken up.
She opened her phone and sent good morning texts to Becky first, then the others. Others usually including the fans and friends who were awake at this time.
Freen glanced at the time. 6:30AM. She smirked, and also sent a text to Becky about her dream.
She wasn’t going to reveal anything until they met in person. Freen wanted to personally get her revenge on Becky from last night. How dare this kid flirt with me? She giddily thought and got up to take a shower.
———
“Just tell me, please?” Becky pleaded, her voice husky as she leaned on Freen from behind.
Freen snorted, taking hold of Becky’s free hand as the other was carrying milk tea. She wasn’t going to succumb so easily to her cute and charming face. After all, her friends kept teasing her about how easily she fell to Becky’s whims. She would prove them wrong…
“Why not anticipate for later?” Freen lowered her voice, teasing as Becky stared at her fiercely, squinting. Becky relaxed then smiled, her dimples showing and took a sip leisurely.
“Are you trying to distract me from your dream?”
“No…” Freen faltered and leaned away from the younger woman, “fine. But I feel a bit embarrassed to tell you… it’s a bit…” she flushed, opting to look away. So she couldn’t even put up a bit of resistance towards this girl.
“What? Did we do something dirty?” Becky bluntly asked, swirling her milk tea. Freen gaped at her. This kid is insane. She pinched Becky’s waist.
“No! It was actually quite…” She sighed, her heart ached with the familiar feeling. “…intimate…?”
Becky wrapped her arms around her, burying her head into her shoulder. “Sorry. Didn’t mean to tease you. What was dream you doing?”
“We were at the beach during sunset. I was watching you and you were wearing a dress. Then I walked up behind you and gave you a hug.” Freen shrugged, dream Becky looked absolutely breathtaking with the glow of the sun on her. She vaguely made a note to search for a similar dress for Becky later on. She didn’t want to tell Becky more than that, so she made it seem as simple as it was told.
But the half Thai woman knew her better than that, and Freen nearly jumped when Becky whispered in her ear. “I don’t believe you. Your dreams are quite impactful when they want to be. Remember you sulked at me when it was dream me who did those actions? Now tell me, how did you feel?”
“I felt like I wanted to immerse myself in you.” Freen mumbled, hoping Becky didn’t hear it all. Her ear tingled still and her heart fluttered. Becky gripped her hips, squeezing them. They stood still in silence.
“Some days I want to do the same.” Becky groaned, relenting the grip on her. “What a beautiful dream. I can’t wait to go to the beach with you, no work, just us.”
Freen tilted her head, staring at the ceiling and the fluorescent lights, she hummed. They had many things to do, with hardly a break in between. She was glad the series was successful and they were recognized… for all the love she had for the fans, she wished she was invisible for one day.
They broke apart reluctantly. It was a good thing they were the only ones in this room, such a moment was best without others in it. Freen picked up her phone and walked out the room, checking her messages.
———
“Oh, I could just hug you all day.” Freen mumbled, the day was long, as usual. Becky was her only saving grace to get through it, with the promise of spending time at her place.
She felt pretty relaxed where she was right now. On a nice, comfortable bed that probably cost more than her rent. Becky in her embrace. Cheek to cheek and the kindling warmth they shared under the blanket. Their legs tangled together and she couldn’t be bothered to find where one started and the other ended.
“Hug addict.” Becky hugged her tighter. Freen held back the laughter that wanted to come out. Her younger friend was just as addicted to her as she was to her.
“Umm. Don’t care, world cold, hug soft and warm.” Freen closed her eyes, tuning into the light homey scent and Becky’s breathing.
Becky sighed lightly, “you can’t stay inside for hours unlike me. And seeing the skies through the window is not the same as standing under it.”
Freen lifted her head to look more closer at Becky, who stared back at her. Her eyes flitted along her face, tracing the contours of her face and her shapely lips before meeting her gaze again. Her hands felt restless, wanting to feel Becky’s skin and to be certain that this wonderful woman was really real.
“I’m fine with staring at the sky, through windows or not, as long as I’m with you.” Freen settled her hands on Becky’s hips, caressing the bit of smooth, warm skin exposed by her top riding up. The itch in her hands was soothed, temporarily. “I don’t think you get how important you are to me. You can’t leave me behind. You owe me 100,000 hugs this lifetime.” She pouted, wondering if this was too childish and cringed internally.
Becky let out a low, breathy laugh, tickling her ears like music, something she would never tire of hearing. Becky pinched her cheek, “silly. I could never leave you. You’re far too precious for me to ever let go of. And I owe you 99,999 more hugs. Looks like you’re never getting rid of me.”
Freen shook her head, “this current hug doesn’t count. We’re snuggling.” She rolled her eyes, as if she’d let Becky start this lifetime of hugs this way. “And my life is better with you in it.”
As for leaving this cocoon of warmth to do something else, she wasn’t interested. Their snuggles would last an hour or more depending on their fatigue and feelings. Freen knew there were people who actually hired people to snuggle, it was a concept she didn’t understand since Becky was her person to snuggle with.
“I’ll let you get away with it. 100,000 hugs sounds like a lot but I think we can manage.” Becky said, patting the top of her head gently. “Don’t be afraid to hug me anywhere, as long as you’re comfortable to do so.”
Freen nodded, her heart felt full somehow hearing those words. She definitely was going to keep these words in mind. She couldn’t imagine saying such a thing to her other friends, 100,000 hugs over the span of their lives? They’d laugh at her and give her hugs without thinking much, but she didn’t want anyone else’s hugs but Becky’s.
She just smiled and didn’t think anymore on why. It just was. Becky was her girl to hug and cuddle.
