sit on my lap today
Freen smiled slowly as the younger woman sat in her lap, snuggling as deep as she could in her embrace. There was a simple comfort every time they bathed in the silence and lounged in the simplest of outfits.
She especially loved Becky’s little sounds of contentment that vibrated against the base of her throat. Freen swallowed hard, chuckling when Becky’s nose nudged her throat. She patted the younger woman's bottom absentmindedly as she stared at the ceiling in a daze.
The other cast members would've teased them, for all the time they spent together, and she couldn't deny it. Becky was her baby. In the past, Nam would've had a small fit at how close they were, almost as close as they were. But Freen told her that what she shared with Becky was different—on another level. She couldn't imagine hugging Nam or any other friend this long, in such silence, without them trying to wiggle their way out and chat and goof around.
She wondered if she had another change of clothes stored in Becky’s closet. She didn’t think she could drive later on when she felt so fatigued now. Freen closed her eyes, humming as Becky took to pressing their torsos together. The heat shared between them was enough to lull her into a light nap.
"Kid, if I knew you were going to fall asleep on me, I would’ve made you lay your head on my lap.” Freen husked, her legs were becoming numb. Becky wasn't heavy but it didn't take much to slow circulation.
"I'm not heavy... but I'll get off." The younger woman huffed and lazily moved to get out of her favorite place when Freen shook her head and smirked at her.
"I didn't mind, but face the other way. With your back against my torso." Freen helped her settle into the new position, sighing at the blood flow rushing throughout her legs again. Becky made a happy little sound as she settled back on her favorite spot.
Freen leaned further back, winding her arms around Becky so she didn’t fall to the side. She nuzzled the younger woman’s nape, inhaling the light peach scent. Her mouth watered and she vaguely wondered how many hours it had been since she ate.
Cool hands rubbed her knuckles, startling her at how cold Becky’s hands were and she frowned, grabbing them into her own to warm them up.
She whined when the phone rang, Becky groaned as she stood back up. Freen already missed her warmth and weight.
“It’s probably my food arriving. I need to go get it.” Becky looked at her with soft eyes and a small smile.
“Fine.” She crossed her arms, pouting. Freen watched as Becky pranced in excitement to the door, grabbing her keys as she left.
She turned on the smart tv, logging onto her Netflix account and decided to watch It’s Okay to Not Be Okay. Five minutes later, Becky bounded in, with her arms holding a paper bag each, the smell of freshly cooked food filled the room. Freen sat up and stretched, her white shirt riding up.
Becky faltered, fixated by the sight. Freen looked at her curiously. Becky shook her head, “you look so beautiful.”
Freen stared at Becky, who carefully prepared two plates with a pile of food.
“Let’s eat now.” Becky clapped her hands, giving a bright smile. Freen nodded dazedly. She couldn’t sulk that long with her cuteness and thoughtfulness.

“—goodness, she’s out of it. Becbec’s got her under a spell or something.” Nam commented lightly to Irin, who grinned and decided to expose Freen. “Of course, Freen is always saying how beautiful Becky is, everyday. To anyone. You know, I don’t even tell Becky just how much you fall over yourself when she’s around.”
Nam nodded, snapping her finger. “Right? She would probably be the kind to walk into a pole or wall. Surprised she hasn’t yet.”
Freen furrowed her brows and scowled at her friends who, at the moment, were being a pain in the ass. She vowed revenge would be swift and painful and embarrassing. One of these days.
“Shut it.” She hissed, peeping at the younger woman to make sure she didn’t hear Nam’s stupidity. “I’m just appreciating her.” She watched Becky turn the corner and nearly sighed in relief.
Nam smirked, “she’s your girlfriend.”
“Stop.” Freen covered her flushing face with both hands. She was glad Becky was going to do her photoshoot right now. Otherwise, she’d be mortified and look for the nearest exit to escape. “I love all.” She was assured of her sexuality and made sure others knew it.
Nam walked away, giggling, “If it helps you sleep at night.”
Irin snorted. Freen glared at her. “Not a word. Go bug Noey or Heng.”
“Becky bias.” Irin shook her head.

Freen held the car door open, hand hovering over Becky’s head to make sure she didn’t bump into anything. She closed the door and heading to the driver’s side. After buckling in and pulling out of the parking space, Freen wondered if Becky wanted to go to a restaurant with her or go to her condo.
“Beck, home or dinner with me? I’m thinking of some sushi.” Freen waited for her friend’s answer. She really hoped Becky would go with her but she also understood Becky was busy with school and had to recharge herself sometimes by being alone. But she really craved Becky’s presence damn near all the time. She would take what she could get.
“Eh? Home.”
Freen glanced at her while stopping at a red light, she nodded lightly. No feelings were hurt. “Text me when you’re settled down, angel.”
“Okay. I’m planning on taking a shower. Today was tiring. My neck hurts.” She could practically hear Becky’s pout and smiled at the complaints. Freen was tempted to just go with Becky, but she wanted to soothe her hunger for sushi and takeout wouldn’t cut it.
She patted Becky’s hand quickly. “Aw, aww, my baby. Take a nice hot shower.”
When they arrived, she hurriedly got out of the car to open the door for Becky. She didn’t want her close friend to be hurt, at all. Freen liked to think Becky appreciated it because she often reciprocated in her own ways.
Becky stood up, and Freen was still as a board, their faces surprisingly close. Her breath hitched when Becky winked at her and walked past her.
“Hope you have a good dinner, my Freen.” The younger woman giggled.
Freen licked her lips, slowly coming back to the real world after being stunned. She shook her head and watched Becky’s figure become more distant. Her hands fidgeted as she contemplated running after her friend. But the moment was gone. What a tease, she pouted and got back into her car. She would show her what being a mischievous girl gets back in return.
