Katsuki has a huge, gigantic problem. His problem is cut into five parts, to make it easier to deal with.

He is in love with Mina Ashido. He’s in love with her golden eyes, the way they sparkle and crinkle at the edges when she smiles. He’s in love with the pretty pink of her skin and how beautiful she looks in the sunlight, all glowing like a dream. He’s in love with her passion for dance, how she moves with the grace of a goddess, so perfect in the way she glides through the air. He’s in love with the way she’ll stand up to anyone who hurts her friends, he’s in love with her confidence and fierceness, and how wild it makes him feel inside. Katsuki Bakugou is so utterly in love with Mina Ashido, and he loves the way it makes him feel. Exhilarated and alive. Being in love with Mina is like riding a roller coaster; thrilling and exciting. He’d follow her to the ends of the Earth if he had to -– anything to stay orbiting around her.

Katsuki Bakugou is also in love with Eijirou Kirishima. He’s in love with Eijirou’s pretty red eyes and pretty red cheeks when he blushes. He’s in love with the sound of his laugh, how absolutely infectious it is, how it fills Katsuki with overwhelming warmth. He’s in love with the little touches they share, how at random points in the day, Eijirou will brush their hands together as they walk down the hall, or throw a gentle arm over his shoulder during their Friday Night sleepovers. He’s in love with Eijirou’s happiness, and how it makes Katsuki happy, too. Katsuki Bakugou is completely head-over-heels for Eijirou Kirishima, and he wouldn’t have it any other way. Being in love with Eijirou is one of the best things Katsuki’s ever felt. It’s like flying high above the clouds and then coming down with the rain, intense and peaceful all at once.

He’s also in love with Denki Kaminari. He’s in love with Denki’s liveliness, the way his expression lights up with joy when he sees hotdogs, the way he does small happy hops when he gets excited. It makes Katsuki’s stomach swirl with butterflies and warmth. He’s in love with Denki’s energy, he’s in love with the way Denki — under any circumstances – cannot stay still. Denki is always moving, whether it be up to the moon or down to the deepest parts of the big blue sea, Denki is always moving. He’s in love with Denki’s kindness, the way he’ll help anyone across the street and how he’ll try his best — and fail — to make you chicken noodle soup when you’re sick. Katsuki Bakugou’s heart belongs to Denki Kaminari, and he wouldn’t want anyone else to have it. Loving Denki Kaminari is like being electrocuted – pun not intended – it sends shivers down Katsuki’s spine and leaves his brain reduced to mush — making his insides all gooey and shit. Leaving him all tingly in a good way — oh, in such a good way.

Katsuki is also in love with Hanta Sero. He’s in love with Hanta’s accent, how husky his voice is when he whispers; Katsuki cherishes how it makes his body feel so hot. He’s in love with Hanta’s politeness and generosity, and how much of a gentleman he can be. It makes Katsuki’s heart beat a little faster when Hanta holds the door for him when they walk into class with a warm, beaming smile on his face; or when he keeps his hand on the small of Katsuki’s back when they go in public places, because he knows Katsuki feels so fucking claustrophobic and uncomfortable in crowds. He’s in love with Hanta’s stupid dad jokes, and he’s in love with the way Hanta can make him laugh when he’s about to cry. He’s so in love with Hanta Sero, and it’s wonderful. It makes him forget about everything and anything -– just Hanta. All Hanta. Hanta is everywhere, all at once.

Katsuki Bakugou is also deeply in love with Kyouka Jirou. He’s in love with her shyness, the way she’ll whisper and stutter sometimes when she’s talking to someone she doesn’t know. He finds it adorable. But he’s also in love with her fire. The fire in her very being, in her blood. The fire that ignites in her core when she gets on a stage and sings, the fire that bursts when she pours her heart and soul into the song — into playing the guitar and banging the drums. He’s in love with her talent, her extraordinary personality. He’s in love with how she’ll give you gifts even when it’s not your birthday, and when you ask why, she’ll flush with embarrassment and say something like, ‘I just had too much stuff in my room, take the damn thing already, will you?’ in a soft but firm voice, so angelic and soothing to the ears. He’s in love with her style, the way she doesn’t give a shit if someone sends her a look in public about the incredibly awesome ripped rock band shirt she’s wearing. He’s in love with her, the way she just exists and makes everyone’s world a little better —  in Katsuki’s instance, a whole lot fuckin’ better. Katsuki has fallen so deeply in love with Kyouka Jirou, and he can only hope she’ll catch him when he falls even further.

So there. There’s Katsuki’s unfixable, utterly outrageous, completely ridiculous problem.

He’s in love with his best friends. Which automatically makes him fucking screwed. He knows he’s fallen hard for every single one of them by the way his heart speeds when gets a chance to just speak to them — it’s the most irritating thing on the planet. But also so fucking amazing. God, Katsuki both hates and likes being in love with them.

The part he hates about it is that they’ll never feel the same back. Even if one of them does, there will still be an empty void in Katsuki’s heart that they could never fix, could never fill because Katsuki has dug himself into that deep of a hole.

The part he loves about it is that he can be close to them. During class and training and sleepovers — all without seeming suspicious. Katsuki can admire them from afar and close up — but he can never touch them. Look but not touch, they say. What a bunch of bullshit. Katsuki longs to hug them for a little longer, to clutch to their hand more often, to kiss their cheeks. He longs for them to hold him forever, to take his hand and cradle it like it was something infinitely precious, to kiss him everywhere, along every inch of skin that they could reach — his cheeks, his lips, his neck, his jaw, his collarbone, his chest — oh god his chest — along his torso and his hips and his thighs and —

And leave it to Katsuki to develop a boner in class while having very detailed wet dreams about being pinned down and kissed by his best friends. Fucking great, Katsuki groans internally. He discreetly moves his hands to cover his lap. He leans forward more, slouching to make it look more normal. Katsuki’s probably safe, anyways. He sags his shoulders all the damn time. Which, according to Denki, makes him look incredibly depressed with his face looking the way it does — dull and emotionless

“Kacchan, are you okay?”

No. Katsuki wants to self-destruct right thehell now. “Shut the fuck up, asswipe.”

Oh!” Deku squeaks and then goes quiet. Katsuki resists the urge to groan out loud. His pants are less tight now and his insides aren’t burning like molten lava anymore. He figures it’s because of Deku. Deku is literally the biggest turn off ever. And All Might. But David Shield, on the other hand. . . Katsuki always enjoyed it when All Might’s sidekick was on screen. That man was his gay awakening. Sue him. David Shield was one hell of a man. He’s got a handsome face with a jawline for days, shaggy brunette hair that looked so fucking soft what the hell, and god, his eyes —

“Ah, Kacchan? You’re. . .” Deku pauses, like he’s afraid of continuing his sentence. He should be, Katsuki thinks with malice. “You’re mumbling.” the shit nerd says.

Katsuki’s eyes twitch and a vein threatens to pop in his forehead. He slowly turns to stare wordlessly at Deku. Deku gulps when he notices Katsuki’s very awful mood, averting his eyes with a soft apology. Katsuki scoffs but he mutters a quiet, reluctant, ‘it’s fine’

Fuck, he’s gotten soft. He and Deku are somewhat friends now. Just as Katsuki turns back to face the front, Deku’s lips stretch into a beaming, watery smile, his eyes happy where they’re still trained on his paper. Katsuki shakes his head with a sigh and turns back around.

Fuck Deku, and fuck David Shield for being hot. Fuck Ashido and Eijirou and Denki and Hanta and Kyouka for being fucking saints for dealing with his teenage depression bullshit; spilling shit about his mom and how she’s abusive, or whatever — it’s not even that bad, she doesn’t even hit him that hard, she’s done worse, it’s fine guys, I deserve it, it’s — and most of all, fuck himself.

Fuck himself for falling helplessly in love with not two, not three, not four, but. Five. Fucking. People. His best friends. His shitty extras. His rocks, his constants — the only reason why he’s not going crazy in this hellhole world. Fuck. Him.

Fuck me, he thinks as the bell rings, and his dorks immediately race over to him. Mina shoves Eijirou and Denki and Hanta out of the way with a large, shit-eating grin and Katsuki’s chest tightens with something fond when Eijirou looks genuinely hurt, his lip puffing out in a pout. Denki just tsks and shoves her right back. Hanta takes his chance to slip past a sad Kirishima and a bickering Kami and Mina to get to Katsuki. Kyouka follows him. They both reach his desk first.

“Hey, Katsu!” Hanta greets, his voice heavenly husky. It makes Katsuki wanna sob. In a good way, though. Totally.

“Hi.” he croaks, trying to ignore his rapidly beating heart and the butterflies in his stomach and the shortness of his breath and the warmth blooming on his cheeks and —

“Yo, you okay?” Kyouka says quietly. Katsuki’s heart lurches and his face softens. He didn’t mean to worry her.

“I’m fine, Jirou.” he stutters over her name for a split second, but it still makes Kyouka smirk.

“Y’know, if it's that difficult to say our actual names, you can go back to the funny pet names.” she teases.

Katsuki blushes bright red from head to toe. “Pet names?” he rasps. His heart thumps wildly. Kyouka’s earjacks twitch and he watches with stalled breath as Kyouka’s gaze goes lower, eyeing his chest, right where his heart pounds through his ribcage. Katsuki’s body gets hot. He squeezes his thighs together with an internal curse. “I-I don’t —”

“Chill.” Kyouka whispers, patting his head. “I was just playing with you.” her expression is significantly more gentle than before. “Sorry I —”

“Shut up,” he says quickly. “You didn’t do anything wrong, I was just being fucking stupid —”

“Eek!” Denki says, draping himself over Katsuki’s desk. His pretty eyes blink up at Katsuki. Katsuki is so far gone. “That’s a bad word, Kacchan!” he exclaims.

“Shut it, Sparky. Your mouth is just as dirty as mine when we play UNO —”

Noooo!” Kaminari bemoans, “I’ve been promoted back to ‘Sparky’!” Denki then proceeds to fake sob, even urging a tear from his eye and dramatically wiping it away with a hiccup. Mina appears at his side and punches his shoulder with a cackle.

“Ha!” she laughs, eyes glinting with amusement. Her yellow antennas bobble and her wild bubble-gum hair bounces as she tosses her head and laughs. “Suck it, Kami!” she smirks and sticks out her tongue. Denki smiles, leaning obnoxiously close to Ashido and sticking his tongue out as well. They were so close their tongues were nearly touching —

Katsuki swallows and shifts in his seat.

I’ll suck you —”

Hey,” Eijrou butts in, his head resting on Katsuki’s. Katsuki relaxes and sags a little into his seat. “Let’s remain PG here —”

Katsuki smiles a little as his friends’ bickering increases — both in volume and in depth. Kaminari and Mina are pointedly arguing that PG movies are horribly anyways, so why should we – and Kirishima has a grimace on his face and he heaves a sigh, that special sigh that he reserves for those two adorable idiots only while saying you literally just said you were going to. . . suck Mina, Kaminari, that’s inappropriate –

Katsuki’s heart swells as Hanta leans in close, his breath hot in Katsuki’s ear. “They’re hopeless, aren’t they?” he asks with a chuckle. Katsuki shivers and nods. Then he turns to meet Sero’s gaze.

They were so close.

“Yeah. . .” Katsuki whispers. He looks back over at his group of fools. “But I wouldn’t have them any other way.”
