matt peaks over his sheets, listening to what seems like the storm outside calming down. he smiled a bit, but yelped and his back under the blanket when a strike of lighting hit right outside of his window. matt’s always been scared of storms, or possibly random loud noises in general. one person knew how to calm him down, but she was all the way down the hall. the dark, dangerous hallway.
the redhead covered himself in his blanket, and creaked open his bedroom door. it was midday, so y/n would probably be napping right now. edd, tom, and tord were out at the store getting snacks. the power was expected to go out tonight as the storm outside progressed.
walking down the hall made matt’s guts feel all twisted up. thunder and lighting crackled through the sky. pop! pop! pop! the noise rang in matt’s ears.
finally, he reached y/n’s door. he could hear her soft snores through the wood paneling that was separating the two. he smiled, gently pushing the door open.
the desk at the far end of y/n’s room had drawing papers scattered all over it. the empty cola cans resting at the very top corner of her bed so edd would never find out who was drinking his soda, clinked together as a certain grey cat crawled out from under y/n’s bed, and situated herself against y/n’s back, which was facing matt.
the poor boy was too scared to wake y/n. she looked so peaceful. instead, he climbed into the bed, getting to where instead of the wall, y/n was facing matt. the ginger wrapped his arms around y/n, her head now resting on his chest. ringo then climbed on top of y/n’s pillow, resting there instead seeing how y/n’s head was on top of matt now.
the girl shuffled around and whined, feeling someone in her bed. matt only giggled and held her tighter. the rest of the guys came back home, but they were quiet. tord was the one to find y/n and matt together in y/n’s room. a new note was left on the door of the girl’s room when tord left.
“lovers at rest. please keep quiet!”
