Summary
Deadpool has always carried a torch for Spider-man. Only recently has the spider themed hero really begun to take notice. Allowing Deadpool to team up with him on several occasions, and spending a few nights eating fast food on roof tops has only deepened these unspoken feelings. Well, mostly unspoken. It’s no secret that Deadpool has made many advances at Spider-man, but of course they are brushed off as pure jest. One night after a long day of work Spider-man takes Deadpool by surprise when a well kept secret is revealed.

Unsteady

Wade clenched his fists tightly and grit his teeth. He was starting to figit in his seat. His leg bounced restlessly and the lights seemed to dim. He was beginning to feel as though he would boil over at any minute. He wanted to hurt someone. Anyone!

(Get up...)

Wade pinched the bridge of his nose and closed his eyes tightly.

[Get up...]

Wade shook his head and dragged his hands over his face roughly.

[(GET UP!)]

Wade sighed heavily and as fast as he dropped his hands to the arm rests and gripped them tightly. The sound of his leather gloves dragging against the leather of the armrests was loud and intense. The seams of the chair's leather popped as stitching snapped apart.

{Kill them... KILL THEM ALL! GET OFF YOUR LAZY ASS AND KILL THEM! KILL THEM ALL!! DO IT NOW!}

Wade bit his lip roughly until the iron taste of blood met his tongue. "I won't..." he muttered under his breath.

{What are you waiting for exactly? Can't you see that idiot is dead?}

"Shut up... shut up shut up... SHUT UP!!" Yelled the Merc as he stood up and started pacing.

{Don't tell me you've grown soft... weak and stupid now, and for what? A dead man?! You know the only real answer. The only TRUE way to stop these pieces of garbage that ROT the world along with them.!}

"I can't...I can't do that. Not anymore..." Wade whispered as he dropped to his knees.

{Can't... or won't?}

Wade looked up at Peter's bed. The sound of the machine breathing for him growing louder and louder. He covered his ears.

{CAN'T OR WON'T?!}

Wade yelled and punched the floor as hard as he could, breaking the pristine tile beneath him. "I WON'T!" he screamed as he repeatedly slammed his fist into the ground. The dust settled as Wade huffed heavily. " This is just wrong...it's all wrong. Where is Fury? And Banner, why haven't these people figured this out yet?"

Standing up, the Merc reached into his pouch and pulled out a small vial of the recovered serum. "...super charged healing factor." He murmured as he popped the top off of the mysterious liquid. A stern look of determination painted itself across the merc's masked face as he looked towards Peter.

"Fury, my son is getting weaker and weaker. Please tell me you figured something out that we can work with?" Tony asked sounding defeated.

Fury crossed his arms. "I've got the top minds of SHIELD reviewing different test results as we speak."

Steve placed his strong hands on Tony's shoulders and leaned down kissing the top of his head. Tony was dead on his feet and it showed. The two father's haven't been able to rest at all since Peter fel into a coma. "Director... you've had over a week now. Not to mention full assist from members of the Avengers to help you gather info from Octavious and the suspect that was collecting blood samples from Peter. With all your resources, have you truly found nothing?"

Fury was about to answer when JARVIS chimed in. "Pardon me sir, but it appears that Mr. Wilson has taken it upon himself to remove Master Peter's breathing tube."

Wade looked towards the door as he heard the pounding of feet rushing towards the room. Steve and Tony rushed into the room and stopped suddenly as they caught sight of what the merc had done.

"Have you totally lost it mush for brains?! Just what do you think you're doing?!" Tony yelled as he ran over and dragged the merc away from his son."

Steve quickly grabbed his furious husband and held him back. "Tony stop!"

Tony tried to pull free, " This psycho is gonna kill our-- huh...wait..."

Peter choked out a cough as he sat up from the bed slowly. Steve and Tony watched as Peter rubbed his throat.

Steve smiled whole heartedly as Peter opened his eyes to see them standing there. Tony was stunned at the sight. "Peter? You're...awake?"

Peter coughed into his hand and winced. The breathing tube had left his throat raw and sore, but even that wasn't enough to keep the goofy smile off his face.

Unable to contain their elation, the two fathers quickly embraced their son. Tears of joy streamed down their faces as Peter was smothered.

Fury looked away from the happy family to see Deadpool pulling his mask back over his mouth and chin. " You're lucky that worked." He scoffed towards the merc as he turned to leave. Wade watched as Fury left, then looked down at the now empty vial in his hand. When he looked back up he realized Peter was looking at him curiously whilst still being squashed between his parents.

[Maybe we should go now.]

Wade swallowed hard feeling his cheeks grow hot.

( That... was... awesome...)

Peter's once sickly pale skin was regaining its lively color before his eyes. It took everything he had to walk out of the room. The commotion of people rushing past him in the hall to see Peter was drowned out by his thoughts.

(I feel all tingly inside...)

Wade smile as he made his way towards the tower's exit. The bitter taste of the serum still present on his tongue.

"Everything checks out. Peter is completely healthy again." Bruce said stunned as he reviewed all the test results.

Tony shoved Bruce aside to see the results for himself. "How is this possible though?! Don't get me wrong, I'm glad he's healthy. But according to all our data on that serum... he should have had a negative reaction."

Bruce shook his head in confusion. "I'm not exactly sure. Before today we were all hard at work to figure out how to purify that serum without it losing its stability. This doesn't make any sense."

Tony punched the bridge off his nose and circle his eyes tightly, trying to force his brain to come up with some sort of plausible hypothesis as to how this happened. "Purify... purity... how?"

Bruce began closing out the data. " Look Tony, maybe we should just be satisfied with the simple fact that it worked. I mean... is the how really so crucial?"

Tony turned his back to Bruce without answering him. He was much too deep in thought to even try to acknowledge the other Avenger.

Bruce sighed and walked out of Tony's lab. He was more than aware, at this point... there was no use tying to reason with Tony when he gets like this.

As he stepped out of the door he realized Peter was standing at the door. It looked as if he was about to knock on the door. "Oh, hi Peter. Everything alright?"

Peter took a step back and slipped his hands into his hoodie pocket. "Oh! Uh, yeah... I'm fine. I was just coming to check on pops. It's been a couple days and he seems distant. I'm just worried that maybe something was bothering him? And if so, should I be worried?"

Bruce glance over his shoulder at Tony who was now standing at his desk with the components of the serum displayed in front of him. Then quickly looked back at Peter and stepped out of Tony's lab doorway sitting the door behind him. "Peter, you have nothing to worry about now. Your father and I are certain of that much."

Peter sighed and gave Bruce a half hearted smile. "I got it. I know how he doesn't like loose ends. But id you say I'm healthy...I know I can trust that. "

"So then, if you understand... why do you look like you are so disappointed?"

Shrugging his shoulders he answered, "I guess because...I don't like loose ends either. Anyway, thanks for talking with me. I always respect how honest you are with me. At least you don't treat me like a kid anymore."

Bruce smiled at Peter, "That's because I trust you too. Listen, don't worry about a thing. I'm looking after your dad. So you can count on me to let you know if anything serious was going on. So that being said... why don't you go take it easy for a while. You've been through a lot. Plus I'm sure you're starting to feel suffocated by all the attention. "

This made Peter chuckle. "No kidding... Thanks uncle Bruce. I'm going to go meet up with some friends. Let my dads know?" Peter didn't wait for him to respond as he started down the hall. The chiming of his phone getting his full attention.

'Text from Gwen'
-Hey Peter, you ready for some mini golf?

Peter quickly typed out a response and hit send.
-On my way now. See you there!
