The door had finally appeared before Harry in the empty corridor. The interior looked like a minimalistic Londoner loft. It was cold and Harry spotted Draco near the big window staring out of it with a cigarette in his hand. Harry didn’t even want to know how many must be laying in the ashtray next to him. Harry walked over to him and sat on the cold floor next to the blonde. Not a word was spoken, and both silently stared outside losing themselves in their thoughts. After a while, Draco worded his thoughts. “Why are you here? I mean why didn’t you just send Pansy?” Harry let out a small laugh that irritated Draco further. “Would you prefer to be scolded by Pansy over hanging out with me? I’m hurt.” That did make sense in Draco’s mind. Harry seemed to know Pansy well. Draco took the box of cigarettes out of his pocket and grabbed another one. Noticing the other boy’s eyes on the box, Draco tilted it his way offering him one as well. He hoped to provoke Harry. Harry quickly grabbed one and thanked Draco under his breath. He didn’t hesitate to pull his own lighter out of his pocket and light it on fire. Draco had expected everything but that reaction.
“What?” Harry asked, noticing Draco’s lingering gaze.
“The golden boy smokes?”
“Oh shut up, don’t act so surprised. Bad habit I picked up. Just don’t tell Hermione… or Pansy.”
They remained that way for a while longer, respecting the other’s silence.
