New Friend
"We're here" announced Jess as the two of them reach the daycare doors. Ottie was glad, it's not that she didn't like Jess, she just didn't know here too well. Jess opened the doors and Ottie followed close behind. "Sun?" She called once inside the room. Sun is a weird name for a grown-up Ottie thought to herself.
"Jess how are you!" said a loud and energetic voice. Once again, a new voice caused Ottie to jump because she wasn't paying attention and looking at the floor. She looked up and saw probably the most confusing thing she had ever saw in her short little life, it was just as Jess said a sun. Well sort of his face was a Sun, but he had a body like a person, but he wasn't a person he seemed to be made out of metal. 'A robot' she thought to herself.
"I'm fine Sun, how are you?" Jess asked the thing that apparently was just called sun.
"I'm doing great! what brings you to the daycare today, Jess."
"I found you another one" Jess said as she gestured down to Ottie which had been hidden behind her legs.
"Aw new friend, I didn't see you down there!" He said excitedly, Ottie figured this was just how he was all of the time, and he wasn't just this excited to see her. "My names Sun, what's yours?"
"O-Ottie" she said softly. Somehow, he heard what she had said.
"Alright, I've gotta get back to work, have fun you two" and with that Jess turned and walked out the doors.
"Well Ottie you and I are gunna have so much fun together!" Sun said as he ushered her forward, she obliged and started walking. Only then did she take in her surroundings, this place was huge! It was like a wonderland for kids like her, there were slides, and tunnels, and places to climb everywhere. She wanted to run over and play with all of it, but she knew better. She didn't want to get in troubled and get yelled at so she just stayed by sun and listened to him ramble on about the things they could do together until he got cut off by a voice from across the daycare.
"SUN!" A young, concerned voice called.
"Sorry Ottie, I've got to go see what's wrong" He told her sincerely "Go ahead and make yourself at home though!" Then he turned and bounded over to the direction in which the voice came from. She watched him as he went "He walks weird" she thought to herself, in which he did, he moved very... well... I guess you could call it wavy or fluid. In a few seconds she lost sight of Sun due to the sheer size of the place. She wasn't really sure what to do so she just sat on the floor. She really wanted to go play, but everything in her was telling her not too because Sun had not said it was ok and she was scared of getting in trouble. About five minutes had passed when Sun came back to the area where she was sitting.
"Ottie? Whatcha doin here? Don't you wanna go play" Sun said with noticeable confusion in his voice.
"I-I can go play? You mean it?" Ottie said trying not to show her excitement.
"Of course, you can" and without any hesitation she ran up into the play structures and down the slides. She was going to like it here.
