A cold blizzard engulfed half of the island and he and his crewmates would be too if they just stood around in one place.
They had stolen some proper clothes for the weather from some pirates. It fascinated him how an island could be half hot and half cold, it was funny yet ridiculous.
But it’s New World he’s talking about, everything is supposed to be odd but that’s where the fun is. Bunch of adventures and discoveries.
As they rode the back of a pirate, they spotted a Warship looming up the air, but they also spotted someone from a far.
He certainly recognized him. Although it was a bit of a vague memory, he couldn’t forget the person who saved his life.
But the most surprising thing is meeting him again here after two years. He knew he’d meet his savior one day, but he didn’t expect to meet him so soon.
Right after he recognized him, he yelled at the man. Seeming to grab his attention, he stops on his track to look our way.
His face features seem different from what he’d remembered, but still very grumpy. He laughs at this fact.
As he yelled a thank you at the man, Zoro and Robin seems to recognize him too. Zoro pinpoints meeting him at the human shop on Sabaody, while Robin acknowledges the man’s name. Trafal- Traf- Traffy.
He explains to them that the man had helped him escape during the Whitebeard War and saved his life after. Robin seems somewhat surprised to hear this.
But before she could say anything, he jumped from the pirate’s back and run yelling at the man. When he does so, the guy furrowed a bit.
“I never thought I'd meet you here! Really, Thanks a lot for before!”
He thanked him, but soon realized that the guy’s crewmates weren’t with him.
“Where’s the bear and the others?”
The guy ignores his question and rejects his thanks as he ‘was just acting on a whim’ he said as he also points the fact that they’re both pirates.
“Well, I guess that’s true, if we’re both aiming for the one piece means we’re enemies” he said while smiling.
“But I still owe a lot of people after what happened, so thank you!” He continues.
After that a lot of things had happened and in the middle of it, the guy proposes an alliance of defeating Kaido. Which of course, he accepts without a heartbeat.
After defeating Caesar and his underlings, he and the others had barely managed to get out safely.
When he met Law again, he seemed to be badly injured. (And it somehow ticks him). He was a bit confused as to who could hurt him this badly, Law isn’t Weak he at least knew that much about him.
The strongest opponent he’d encounter on the island would be Caesar. Well, it doesn’t matter, he knew none of them could get out without a scratch. (But that was more than a scratch)
In the end, they all had a great party, even the marines. But all parties would have to come to an end. And they all departed in their separate's way.
In the way, they got a call from Doflamingo through Law’s Den den Mushi. He had (menacingly) asked them to hand Caesar over, which of course had been denied without a negotiation (and some threats from Law)
Before so, Doflamingo had said something odd. Going on about he had something he’d want the most (Presumably meat. Tons of meat).
And so, Law and Mingo come to a negotiation. Whereby the assigned time comes, Mingo must resign from being a warlord.
“If there’s nothing tomorrow, all negotiations are off. Later,” Law said before he ended the call.
“So, what about the meat?” He asked before getting a slap from Nami.
“Agh! What? Why did you hit me!” He groans as he rubs his head.
“You moron! There was no meat in the beginning, and for the record you’ve already eaten just now!” Nami sighs before walking away while mumbling something.
“Sanjii! Make me a snack...!” he whines as his stomach growls. There can never be too much meat for him.
“Seriously you,” Sanji sighs before scurrying to the kitchen.
“Luffy-dono, thank you again for helping us!” Kin’emon thanked him as he bowed his head a bit.
“It’s fine! And plus, we’d headed to dressroba either way” He reassures him as he chuckles.
“It’s Dressrosa, straw hat-ya" Law corrects him.
He exits the buzzling room. He should probably get used to this kind of thing now if he’ll be working with the man. (Well, it won’t be long anyway, until I'm...)
He shakes his head as he hurries off to the deck. He ignores Caesar and stands by the railings.
The waves seem particularly nice, the wind is strong and cold as always tonight.
He wondered about the possibilities of outcome there is tomorrow and the day they’d face off against Doflamingo.
He was sure that he wouldn’t make it out alive, but the chances of Doflamingo being defeated would increase by this alliance.
That was all he needed. Vengeance. Revenge. For the death of Cora and the misery of people he’d harmed.
But at the very least, he’d hope the straw hats would make it out alive. He feels a bit guilty dragging them into his mess.
He wondered what’d happened to his crew if they saw the news of their captain, defeated and dead. Just like him.
He clutches to his hat as he feels the grief, sorrow, and anger engulfing his heart. This will all be over, soon.
He let go of his hat as he looked at the moon. It reminded him at the night Cora-san cried for him. It was a full moon. Just like now.
It feels like everything reminded Law of him. How cruel. He chuckles deeply. It’s like the world is throwing stones at him and mocking him from afar.
He jolts as he feels a warm hand on his shoulder. He looks away from the moon and turns behind him. His eyes landing on the shorter man.
“You’re done eating? I've only seen you eat two pieces of onigiri!” The man exclaims.
“You’re a stalker now Straw hat? And for the record, my stomach isn’t built like yours” he smirks at the man.
“I’m not a stalker! I just pay more attention than some people, especially if its food related. And my stomach is normal!” The guy exclaims again as he huffed proudly.
“If you count eating a whole village worth of food normal,” He shrugs as he smirked at the guy.
“But you really should eat more Traffy! You’re so slim!” The guy said while pointing at his body with a frown on his face.
“I’m not sure if that were a compliment or an insult, but I'm literally taller than you straw hat” He defends back. There wasn’t a huge height difference between them, but anyone that comes across both could tell the difference.
“It’s not about height! Like for instant, look at the difference between our hands” said Straw hat before he reached for his hand and compared their palms together.
He was a bit startled by the act but calmed rather immediately. But now he kind of sees it. The guy’s palm is much bigger (And warmer) than his although his were longer.
“Well... that’s just because I'm tall!” He argues back with a frown as he removed his palm from the other (and it somehow startled straw hat a bit).
His hand is so soft and slim compared to mine... His skin is so pale, and his hand is cold. I would’ve thought he was a vampire if I didn’t know him any better.
The cold leaving his skin made him a bit startled and stopped his train of thoughts. He missed the feeling of the other already.
“Whatever you say, Traffy. Well, I'm sleepy already so I'm gonna grab a dessert before I go to sleep. Good night, Traffy!” He quickly replied before racing off to the galley.
He heard a low mumble from Law, but he was already too far away to hear it (And his heart was thumping too hard for him to hear what Law was saying anyway).
When he got to the galley, there was only Sanji and Zoro washing the dishes. It was a rare sight to see them not fighting or arguing, but it’s getting more common to see them like this.
It’s nice to see them like this, though. That’s why no one ever really says anything about what happened between them. It’s their choice to tell anyway.
“Sanjiii! Where’s the dessert? You made some right...?” He asked from behind them as he approach them slowly.
“Yes, yes Luffy. Just hold on a bit. Moss-head, finish this can you?” Sanji said before passing the plates to Zoro and scurries off to the oven as Zoro mumbles.
Sanji pulls out a whole apple pie and some cupcakes from the oven. It looks like heaven! Just what he needs.
“Woooahh... Smells gooood~” he said while sniffing the air as he approaches the food Sanji is holding.
“Damn right, you better finish it. Well, I guess I won’t have to worry about that” Sanji said before he put down the food on the table.
“Thanks for the food!” He said before he stuffed the food inside his mouth. It was delicious as always. It was also still warm and fresh.
As he was done with his food, so was Zoro with his dishes. He put his dirty dishes on the sink, and he could feel the glare blazing off from Zoro.
“Seriously you...” Sanji replied before he laughs and takes over from Zoro to wash the dishes.
“There, there. Thank you, moss-head. But we shouldn’t put you into more contact with the water before you become an actual moss.” Sanji continues while he washes the dishes.
“You... At least I won’t get anyone dizzy by looking at your eyebrows!” Zoro retorted back as bump hard to Sanji’s shoulder. Sanji dramatically gasps as a response.
“Shishishi... You guys are funny!” Luffy grins before he proceeds to leave them both alone and exits the galley.
When he exits the galley, he looks around the spot where he left Law. When there was no sign of him, he decided to go to bed.
As he walks in the boys’ cabin, he catches glimpses of heads beneath the blankets. It seems that everyone has went to sleep.
He climbs his bed and proceeds to lay down. He looks at the dark ceiling and thinks about all the adventures and moments he experienced on this day.
There was so many going on today... I beat some evil scientist or something like that. Then a teamwork with Smokey. Then I met him again... We even built an alliance!
But somehow Traffy looks... Sad? The same kind of sadness when Nami first joined, and the same kind of sadness when Robin first joined.
I don’t like it.
I want to get rid of that looming darkness around him.
I want to put a smile on his face. A real genuine smile.
But he puts this... wall around him.
But I'll break it down.
Just like how I did it with my friends.
Once I accomplish it.
I'll protect the smile you’ll beam.
I’ll protect you...
