Chapter 7
Peter dove into the bed as soon as he entered his room. He was confused, lonely and angry but most of all he was just tired. He wanted to go home, he wanted to see his family again, wanted to play around with his friends. He didn’t want to be here, he didn’t belong here and clearly nobody wanted him here. He couldn’t help the tears streaming down his face.
Because he was currently buried under his blanket he didn’t hear the door open but he did feel the mattress drop as someone sat down on the bed beside him.
“Are you okay?” Pietro’s familiar accent rang out in the room.
“Oh I'm just fine!” Peter snapped, throwing the blanket aside. “I don’t know where i am! I don’t know how i’m here and i don’t know how to get back! I’m not supposed to be here! What if something happens while I'm gone? What if someone gets hurt because I'm not there? Petro, What if one of my friends or family dies because I wasn't there to save them!? What if-”
Peter’s words were cut short when he was suddenly pulled into a tight embrace. He felt one of Pietro’s hands running through his hair while the other was rubbing circles over his back and the dam broke down completely. Peter buried his face in the other’s shoulder and just cried. He had been holding it in since he first woke up in this world and it felt so good to just let all his emotions out, all the fear, sadness, loneliness and frustration. He was vaguely aware of the fact that Pietyro was whispering things into his ear but he couldn’t understand it and he really didn’t care, he really liked hearing the others' voice.
“I’m sorry..” Peter mumbled when he finally stopped crying and pulled away from Pietro.
“You don’t have to be sorry..” Pietro said, quickly pressing a kiss to Peter’s forehead. “This must be very stressful and you're so strong and doing so well, all things considered.”
“Thank’s..” Peter smiled. “I do my best..”
They sat in silence for a couple of seconds, just taking in each other’s company before Pietro spoke up again.
“I’m sorry for what happened before.” He said, grabbing Peter’s hand. “The other’s are sorry as well, it’s been a stressful week. You’re welcome to join us for breakfast if you want.. of course if you don’t then that’s- I mean you don’t have.. It’s you’re-”
Without a moment of thought Peter leaned forward and placed a small peck on Pietro’s cheek. “I could do with some breakfast.”
Pietro looked shocked for a second before flashing a smile towards the other.

The kitchen was quiet when the two speedsters arrived and Pietro was quick to usher Peter into one of the remaining chairs before sitting down beside him.
“Listen.” The blonde, muscular, blue eyed dude said. “I’m sorry for how we acted before, it wasn’t fair to you and I apologize, we all apologize.”
“It’s okay.. i get it..” Peter said, trying to give them a reassuring smile. “You don’t know me, I would have done the same.”
The food was served in silence but after everyone started eating conversations started up.
“So Peter..” Someone spoke and Peter emigetly looked up from his bacon and eggs to look at the weird red robot looking person, Vision he remembered. “I hope I'm not being too forward but I am curious as to how you got your power?”
“Vision!” Wanda snapped but Peter just shook his head.
“It’s okay, there’s not really a story, I was born with my power.” He shrugged before showing more food into his mouth.
“Born with them?” Goatee man asked, seemingly suddenly very interested in the conversation.
Peter nodded. “Yeah, i’m a mutant. I don’t think you have them here on this earth. We have quite a few where I'm from.”
“Fascinating..” Vision mumbled. “And do all these mutants have super speed or is it just you?”
“Nah, I'm one of a kind.” Peter smiled. “There’s loads of different mutants. Mutants who can fly, set of explosions, superhealing, super strength, telepaths, shapeshifting, you name it we got it. My best friend in blue, has a tail and can teleport, he’s awesome!”
It was quiet for a couple of seconds as everyone in the room just stared at him.
“Of course there are just normal humans too..” Peter mumbled awkwardly.
“So.. not everyone is a mutant then?” The nerdy looking guy with messy hair asked.
“No, most humans are just.. you know, humans.” Peter said. “It’s a genetic thing, Prof X explained it to me once but I don't remember shit.”
“Prof X?” The red haired woman asked.
“Yeah.. he’s the principal slash Teacher at the school i go to.” Peter nodded. “Most mutants can’t control their powers when they first manifests so Prof X started this school where we learn to control it.”
“Sounds like a good cause.” Mister blonde nodded. “Can’t be easy to control something like that.”
“I guess it depends on what power you get.” Peter shrugged, putting the last of his food into his mouth. “I got the hang of it pretty easy but there are people with worse power. Like Scott, he can shoot lasers out of his eyes but he can’t exactly shut it off so he wears these glasses so he doesn't destroy the whole school. Jeane has problems controlling her telekinesis sometimes.”
“Sounds like you’re teachers have their hands full then.” Goatee guy said.
“Oh yeah.”Peter nodded. “Especially Logan, he’s very easy to rile up.”
It was relatively quiet for a while until everyone finished eating and people started getting up.
“Pietro!” Blonde guy gestured towards the door. “I’m sure Peter here would appreciate his old clothes back, we cleaned them and put them in your room.”
“Yeah, sure.” Pietro nodded towards the other speedster and they both disappeared from the room.
Because of their quick exit both speedsters missed the sudden appearance of what looked like orange sparkles and they were already too far away to hear the startled yelps that followed seconds later.
