A time we all shared
It was Saturday, Nene was hanging around the corners of the usual get-together areas of the other three members of Wonderlands X Showtime, she wasn't regularly early, nor was she late either, it just happened that she found herself wandering over to the first place she knew she had to be at, the three idiots she had to drag herself along with. Weirdos.
Saturday.
it wasn't just prior to Friday, but also prior to all of Nene's nightmares that struck ashen on her face and distorted all the mellow and simplict apathetic feelings drawn out by the heinous behaviors of the; Emu Otori.
The day they had before wasn't exactly the worst afterall, all they did was share eachothers time on a rooftop, it was harmless. Considering everyone in her group always acting like they were on soap operas, it might be that she's the melodramatic one in this situation, Emu was her friend, it wasn't like she was gonna get arrested for sneaking bombs into foreign countries, it was fine.
Just as the pink-haired girl got her deep into thought, she felt a slight tap on her shoulder ensued by shrill giggles, almost like the thought of her was a manifestation, the frown seeping on Nene's face was indescribable.
”Emu.” A scoff wilted from Nene's mouth, the sad expression was contagious, and soon enough Emu was frowning too.
”N-Nene..! Nene!! What.. what?!?! What are you-doing here so early..?!” Cried a melodramatic Emu, just as usual, her hand was woven to Nene's in a second.
”What? I always come here at this time.” She felt Emu's grasp on her hand tighten, with the hand that was available, she rubbed her temple and let out a sigh.
”Emu, don't tell me you've jumped all the way over here again.” The guessing tone in Nene's voice was what got Emu to crack, in seconds the girl was sobbing fake weeps, dragging Nene down on the ground with her as she collapsed.
“I confess! Detective-Nene-Chan has caught me once again ♪“
“What are you singing about, and stop calling me that, it's embarrassing.“ She pulled away from Emu's grip, looking at her dead in the eye as she squirmed on the cold pavement, her aloof demeanor was hindered by the unexpected voice of the former leader, sliding into their solitude, Nene was sure of what was gonna happen next, like a spoiled plot.
”HAHAH--aaaHAAAAAAHH!!!!!!” Tsukasa screamed at the top of his lungs at the scene ahead of him, Nene looked so smug it looked like she was about to pull out a cigarette and wipe the ash on the fabric of his shirt. He took a few steps back before processing what he just looked at.
”A-Ahem!” He finally interrupted the painful silence, his voice was shaky, nonetheless, Tsukasa still somewhat maintained the strong composure of his booming energy, placing a firm hand on his chest, drawing a smile from thin air. He cleared his throat for the second time before starting an unrequited conversation.
”I suppose we'll have to wait for Rui to arrive! Seeing how we're all gathered here! Without him!” Tsukasa shouted at the air, trying to make his point clear even when he didn't have one, Nene was all too used to this, the shouting duo was definitely gonna make her deaf one day, no doubt.
”Nene!!!! Nene!!!” The inattentive gaze Emu set on Tsukasa was now drawn onto Nene, she was jumping in the air, a gleeful tone soaring in her voice, spinning around the grey haired girl in circles.
”Emu, calm down.” She sighed loudly, her eyes following the countless circles being formed around her, looking visibly bored, arriving early could've been the worst decision she'd ever made in her life. The two were frolicking in a field of invisible flowers right infront of her eyes. Nene was probably the most sober person in the group so far. She fiddled with her hands before letting out an impatient pout.
”Oh my god, where the hell is Rui?” Nene was practically falling back to sleep at this point, the only thing that was keeping her awake was the blabbering girl and incoherent cackles of the blond boy, unfortunately, it wouldn't be until another millennium for the four of them to be reunited again, with Rui being the latest among the trio.
“I-I don't know, Nene! he's.. vanished into thin air!“ The cries of the smaller girl echoed throughout the empty stage, the air crystalizing after every breath. Her eyes trailed around, but with no avail to be caught.
”Ahem! Don't worry, i'm sure Rui is nearby, he's probably just late!” It was clear how much of an effort Tsukasa was making to reassure the two of them, it would end up in inadequacy, Rui wasn't evil enough to ditch them afterall, three people waiting pathetically for someone who wasn't going to arrive.
”This is just like kindergarten, we're sitting around in a triangle waiting for Rui, what are we gonna do, summon him?” Nene slapped her forehead with the palm of her hand, her statement left Emu giggling but left a mortified glare on Tsukasa.
“THIS IS SERIOUS! NENE! We have a day of shows to do tomorrow! If he doesn't show up we're dead!“ Tsukasa growled back at Nene, crossing his arms and giving Nene the side eye.
“He's probably on his way right now, there's no reason to act so childish.“ Her eyes scanned the horizon for the purple haired boy, but to no avail. There was no saying in whether or not he would show up, it was purely just fate that they had to believe in.
”Well.. it's okay if he doesn't come! We'll just.. figure something out!” His voice boomed, a trace of disappointment being visible enough to be heard. Tsukasa looked down at the pavement before loudly taking a breath of air.
“So! What are we doing for this show! A play.. hmm, I was thinking maybe Rui could slack off from being the villain too often, it's repetitive. Maybe we can do something different this time?“ He closed his eyes, being too busy bursting in pride to not collect the opinions of his former members.
“Oh my God.. I miss Rui already.“ Nene was halfway through standing up before she heard a familiar woeing voice, sourcing from the corners of the stage.
”RUI!!!!” Emu's joyous voice was what brought it all together, the four of them were finally in chorus, to Nene's surprise, it didn't take a second for Rui to join their group on the pavement.
”I'm so sorry! I was so late today, now i have to bare the burden of all my sad friends!” Rui hangs his head low before getting pinched in the arm by Tsukasa, he hestiantly takes a deep breath before exhaling quietly. ”I've kept you all waiting for me for over an hour! Please, forgive me!” He continues, and there were more than just six pairs of eyes staring at him.
”RUI. YOU HAVE KEPT US WAITING FOR ONE HOUR.” Tsukasa shouted, his arms went back to being crossed as he shot a frown at the person beside him. It was something about the sarcasm in Rui's voice that gave it away to being premeditated this whole time.
”Atleast you had the gut to not ditch us.” Nene scoffed. At this point Rui had been humbled by all the other members of the group, so he had no choice but to stay silent the entire time. ”Well, now that we're all here we should stop fighting and get our show plans done and over with.”
”That sounds great!” Emu stood up and swept the dust off of her clothes, her hand clinging to Nene's as she dragged her across the ground, leaving the two behind.
“Tsukasa-kun,“ Rui's voice winds up, being gentle in tone, his head darting to the opposite direction, ”You know it wasn't my best intention to be so late, I had some problems at home.“ His voice cracked as he spoke, nonetheless, it still maintained its smooth tune.
“Rui, it's fine! A star doesn't hold grudges.. after all! We shouldn't make drama based on how late you were to our group meetings or how late you could possibly be to make all of us contemplate going home and canceling our plans!“ Tsukasa felt like he was in a kids show, making grand speeches about how the power of friendship was more important than anyone being late to a meeting, it was disrespectful, but it shouldn't cause so much drama!
Rui smiled slyly and left without a word, leaving Tsukasa sitting unreadably on the ground, it wasn't soon until he got up aswell.
The sky was a vibrant shade of blue, being filled with nothing but the permeating light of the sun, a gust of wind blowing against the stage occasionally. The tension would still fill up the air about Rui's unquestionable temporary absence from their group meeting, but that didn't stop them from getting their show work started;
”Oh you fool! You big big fool! Have you ever planned to ensnare me yourself?” Cackled Emu, who was the villain of their play, so malicious, absolutely despicable. Her voice was deep in a mocking order to the routinely one of a true villain.
”Vladimous.. You see, I have a secret weapon! One that will cause destruction to all evil!” Nene smiled as she bashed her sword into the villains abdomen, a shriek of pain cried out from Emu, followed by a prideful laugh let out by the hero. “I'll get you next time!“ Emu furrowed her eyebrows as she collapsed to the ground, “You'll pay!! Ahhh!“
