Do I have three papers due very soon? Yes, yes I do. Did I write this instead of said papers? Yes, yes I did.Sometimes I feel like my writing is all over the place, but I think I'm actually happy with how this turned out. I hope y'all enjoy! :)

Lena was adding the finishing touches to her makeup when she heard a knock at her door. She looked herself over once more and took a deep breath. She couldn’t mess this up.

She held her breath as she opened the door, and the second she laid eyes on the person behind it, all the nerves and doubts she previously had left her.

“Kara.” She breathed out as she took in the absolute goddess in front of her. Kara was in a blue suit that brought out her eyes that were no longer hidden behind glasses. Her hair was down, and Kara just looked so perfect.

She revealed a bouquet of plumerias and held them out nervously to Lena. “Human custom is to bring flowers for your date, so here you go.”

Lena took them with a smile on her face. “They’re lovely, Kara. Thank you.”

Lena quickly went inside to place the flowers on her kitchen table before returning to Kara. “So, where are we going?” Lena asked with an arch of her eyebrow.

“Well if I told you, that would defeat the purpose of it being a surprise.”

Kara put out her hand for Lena, and started guiding them to their date destination.

They walked in comfortable silence as Kara led them along the streets of National City. It was quiet outside, and you could see the stars shining brightly overhead. It was a perfect night.

Kara came to a halt when they reached the outside of her apartment building. Lena looked at her confused and Kara just smiled. “After you, M’lady” Kara dramatically opened the door for Lena.

“God, you’re such a dork.” Lena shook her head with a smile evident on her face.

“And you love me despite it.” Kara said as she followed Lena into her apartment building.

“No, I love you because of it.” Lena relinked her hand with Kara’s as they walked towards the stairs.

They passed Kara’s floor, and kept walking up until they were at the top. Once they were at the door for the roof, Kara, being the gentleman she is, held the door open for Lena to walk through.

Lena was left speechless as she stepped foot onto the roof. Kara had set up a picnic for them to enjoy under the night sky. It was so peaceful and oh so perfect. A blanket was laid out for them to sit on, and there were twinkling lights hanging all around. Lena had never been on a date that was this thoughtful.

“So… what do ya think?” Kara shifted her weight on her feet anxiously awaiting Lena’s response.

“Its- its amazing, Kara. I love it.”

Kara tried to bite back her smile, but she just couldn’t. Lena looked so gorgeous in the night sky, in a dress that hugged her just the right way. Kara found herself just gaping at Lena, unable to believe someone could be so gorgeous.

“Are you done checking me out, Ms. Zor-el? I wouldn’t want our food to spoil.” Lena smirked and headed to the blanket and Kara thought she might just combust on the spot. Hearing her name. Her Kryptonian name was everything.

The two of them sat together and enjoyed a lovely dinner Kara had set up for them. Everything was perfect and for once it felt like the universe was on their side. Sitting on the roof, they had a perfect view of the night sky.

“Can you tell me where it is?” Lena laid down on the blanket and Kara copied her.

“Where what is?” Kara asked.

“Krypton.” Lena turned towards Kara, searching for any sign that Kara wouldn’t want to talk about it. Instead, Kara took Lena’s hand into her own and pointed to the sky. “There.” Kara breathed. “That’s where Krypton was.” Lena squeezed her hand and hummed. “And here.” Lena said as she pointed to Karas chest. “Krypton lives inside of you too, Kara.”

“Yeah.” Kara responded softly. “Yeah, it does.”

They laid there in silence for a while just taking in the sky before Kara spoke again. “I lost my entire world, Lena. I watched it blow up as I was sent away all alone. For a while I used to wonder if that’s all I would ever be- alone. And then, I got to Earth. And I hated it. I missed my home, and I missed my friends, and family, and I didn’t think I would ever find them again. I didn’t think it was possible. Then the Danvers took me in, and I felt like the pieces that were broken in me were slowly being put back together. But something was still missing. I didn’t know what it was. And then, I met you. And you, Lena Luthor, are the greatest thing that has ever happened to me. Laying here with you now, I finally have what I didn’t think was ever going to be possible again. But with you Lena, I have found my home, my friend, and my family. And I love you.”

Tears were freely falling down both of their faces. Lena curled up closer to Kara so that her head could rest on Karas chest. “I lost my world when I was four. My mom was all I knew, and then she was taken from me, and I was sent to live with the Luthor’s. Lillian couldn’t look at me, Lionel was never home, but Lex made me feel like I belonged somewhere. And then he turned into someone I no longer recognized as my brother and I felt alone again. I felt like the whole world was against me and it would always be that way. Then, you and your cousin came into my office, and instantly I knew you were different. I wasn’t a Luthor to you, I was Lena. And from that point on, I knew I would never be alone again. Because Kara, you are my world. And I love you.”

“Look at us, a Luthor and a Super.”

“No- just Kara and Lena.”

“Yeah.” Kara smiled. “I like that. Kara and Lena.”

“I can’t believe it took us this long to figure all this out.”

“For you, I would’ve waited a century.”

“Me too.” Lena lifted her head. “But I’m glad I didn’t have to wait that long to do this.”

Lena leaned down and connected her lips with Karas.

And it wasn’t perfect. Lena had to awkwardly lean over Karas chest, and it was dark and hard to see the outline of each other, but it didn’t matter. Because in that moment, it was just the two of them.

Just Kara and Lena.
