Past, and future mistakes

Lily couldn't believe it. That her whole life has been a lie. She couldn’t believe that her mom, and dad are actually her grandma, and grandpa, and that her siblings are actually her aunt’s, and uncle. But what shocked her the most of all, was the fact, her oldest sister was actually her mom. She couldn’t believe it, her entire life had been a lie. She looked at her older sister, Lucy had a confused expression. She couldn’t stop looking at the picture, she couldn’t believe that this was happening, she looked at Lily, then at the picture. There is no doubt that the baby, Leni is holding in the picture is Lily. She looked at her supposedly niece, and said. L-lily, maybe we should go downstairs, she suggested to her. Lily didn’t respond to her, but only nod in agreement with her. Lucy put the picture in her pocket, and then guided her down the basement steps, and took her to her, and Lucy’s shared room.

Lily sat down at her bed, and had many questions. Why did they lie to me? Why did Leni lie to me? Who is my real father? Did I make him leave Leni? Does his family know I exist? Does he know I exist? Why did they lie to me? Lily had many questions. Lucy looked at her concern, and then said, Lily, I know this is a lot for you, but we cannot tell anyone about this. Lily was pulled out of her thoughts, and looked at her with a confused expression, Why? She questioned her. Because this could ruin our family, and I can’t go through that again, Lucy said. She didn’t want this shocking discovery to ruin her family, she was still recovering from the bad luck incident that happened to her brother. She still remembers that clearly. She remembers when Lynn told them that their only brother was bad luck, since he was there when she lost her baseball game. After that game, herself, and her sisters stopped inviting him to their event’s, and started to keep their distance from him, so they wouldn’t be affected by his bad luck. That’s when it started to get out of control, she still remembers helping clear Lincoln's room, and Lana boarding up the room, and when Lincoln tried to clear the misunderstanding, they all kicked him out of the house, and made him sleep in the backyard. That’s when the situation got from bad to worse. On the second week of Lincoln sleeping in the backyard, it was Lucy's turn to give him food, and when she went outside, he wasn’t in his usual spot. She figured he just went to school early, but when she went to school, Clyde asked her, Where Lincoln was. This made her nervous, because if he wasn’t at school, or at home, then where is he? The entire day she wondered where Lincoln was, she was hoping that he was home, and he somehow snuck into the house, but when she got home, the only thing she found was her parents, and the police. Her mother was crying, while her father consoled her. When Lucy asked what happened, and where’s Lincoln? The response from her father scared her for the first time in her life. Lincoln had ran away; when Rita was cleaning her garden, she found a letter next to the patio staircase, and it said.

Dear Loud family

After everything you have done to me, I have decided to run away. I cannot believe that you all will kick your own son, and brother out of the house. I am tired of being pushed around for something that isn’t even true. All my life, I have put this family first, and have tried to help everyone when they needed it. I even took the blame for Lucy, when she clogged the toilet with her stupid unicorn comic book. I am done with being blamed for everything in this stupid family. Even after everything you have done to me, I still love you all, I don’t know why, but I still care about each, and one of you, especially Lily, because she is just a baby, and she did not do anything wrong. I hope you all have a good life.

Lincoln

When Rita finished reading the letter, she had tears flowing down her cheeks, and then started sobbing. Her heart felt like it was breaking, from what was a silent cry turned into a loud sobbing. She couldn’t stop herself from crying her heart out, and when Lynn Sr, went out, and found his wife in her state, he immediately went to her. “ Honey, what's wrong?”, he asked. When Rita tried answering him, all she could say was, “ O-our son, my baby boy, gone”. Lynn didn’t understand his wife, but then looked at the letter. And after he read it, he felt his entire life had been shattered. At that moment, Lynn had felt he failed as a father. He didn’t know what to do, the only thing he could do was hold his wife while she was crying. Eventually they went back inside, and called the police. When Lucy heard that her older brother was gone. She couldn’t believe it, she didn’t want to believe it. She felt it was her fault, because if she didn’t leave her comic book in the toilet, then Lincoln wouldn’t have run away. She was angry at herself, and also at her sisters, because they had mistreated him as well. Lucy was just standing there, and when her dad tried talking to her, “ Lucy, you ok?”, she immediately backed away from him. She didn't want to talk to him, or her mom, she couldn’t believe that they failed Lincoln, she couldn’t even look at them. She ran up the stairs, and went straight into her room. The only thing she could do was cry. She was crying her eyes out, and didn’t know what to do. She just stood there, and cried. Her hands were up to her face, wiping her tears off her cheeks. She tried her best to calm down, she then walked to her bed, and laid down. She continued to sob her heart out, and soon she became exhausted, and fell asleep.

Lucy had always hated remembering that moment, she always tried to block it out. Her family was never the same after that day, her parents couldn’t believe that, they would let their stupidity ruin their family. The sisters, each one of them, had felt terrible, especially Lynn, she blamed herself entirely, she even quitted the baseball team. She felt terrible for what she had caused; she didn’t play sports for a whole year because of what happened, she always blamed herself, and she still does to this day. Things had gotten worse when they finally found Lincoln.

“ What are you guys doing?”, the sudden voice coming from the doorway, Both Lucy, and Lily looked, and realized their tomboyish sister had walked into the room. “ Mom just told me that Leni is going to be here in 10 minutes, so we have to finish getting the house ready.” She said, both Lily, and Lucy looked at her with wide eyes, and then back at each other, they couldn’t believe that Leni is going to be here soon, even after such a shocking realization. Lana instantly knew something was wrong, “uh, you guys ok?” she asked. Lily then got up from the bed, and said, “ no”, Lucy looked at her with her a shocked expression, “ Lily don’t tell her” she said, “ tell me what?”, Lana asked. Lily then said, “ so, me and Lucy, went into the attic to find a picture to paint for Leni, but we found a picture of her holding a baby, and the back said, Happy Birthday Lily”, she explained. Lana face turn fro confused to a shock expression, she then looked at Lucy, to confirm what she had said. Lucy couldn't do anything but nod, confirming, what Lily had said was true. “ So you’re telling me, that you’re my niece, and I’M YOUR AUNT?!”
