Weird Science
Summary
Nancy Tells Robin she reminds her of Anthony Michael Hall characters. Robin tells Nancy who she reminds her of. (I don’t know what this is I’m so sorry, I’m trying to write my way out of writers block, this isn’t supposed to be good to bad. It simply is.)

“Really, Nance?”  Robin said, looking towards her girlfriend, who was lying slanted into her side on the Wheelers’ basement couch, with an unamused expression.

”what?” Nancy asked, a slight breathy laugh peaking out.

Robin stared at her as she continued,

”you remind me of his characters in weird science, and The Breakfast Club. You only remind me a little bit of him in Sixteen Candles, You wouldn’t pretend you could get a girl, but I do see you somehow getting into a situation where you’d have to awkwardly ask a girl to borrow something personal of hers for ten minutes, oh! And, what was that other one?.”

“He’s been in a few movies, Nance.”

”right. Well, you see my point.”

”Well- I-, okay fine. I’m an Anthony Michael Hall character. Do you want to know who you remind me of?” Robin asked, raising her eyebrows in an expectant question.

”who?”

”Molly Ringwald.” Robin poked her tongue out slightly between her teeth.

”why?” Nancy asked, genuinely confused.

”Because you’re the princess. Miss Princess Nancy Wheeler of Hawkins High herself.”

“Very funny. I was being serious about mine.”Nancy said.

”and so was I.” Robin feigned offense.

”Robbie.” Nancy said with a slight whine, her doe eyes looking up towards her girlfriend pleadingly.

”fine,” Robin started, giving in, “You wanna know who you really remind me of?” She asked.

”who?”

“Daryl Hannah.”

”Why?” Nancy asked.

”because she’s autistic.”

”She is?”

”yeah.” Robin said.

”but, she’s an actor, lots of people like her.” Nancy said, confused.

”yeah. But she’s a good actor,” Robin supplied nonchalantly, running her hands through Nancy’s hair, “she’s just as talented as any other actor. I mean, relatively.” She continued.

Robin thought for a moment.

”Nance?”

”hm?”

”is it, do you think people wouldn’t like her because she’s autistic?”

”I don’t know. I just..” Nancy trailed off awkwardly. Robin immediately caught that something was off.

”Nance, you don’t think that people don’t like you because you’re autistic, do you?” Robin asked carefully.

Nancy, in lieu of a response, turned her head and pressed further into Robins side. Robin, knowing Nancy, took that as a yes.

”Nancy, I know lots of people who more than like you, lots of people who love you, even if they don’t really say it out loud a lot. And, I love you.”

”… I love you too.” Nancy replied.

”I know a lot of people don’t understand those who are different, and don’t try to, but, that’s really their loss, okay?”

”okay. Robin?”

”yeah?” Robin asked.

”You are so an Anthony Michael Hall character.”

“Sure.” Robin said, rolling her eyes with a fond smile on her face.
