Chapter 28
A few days have passed since Chris and Sebastian had found out that they’re having twins, and they’ve not yet told any of their friends and family about it yet. They’re not quite sure how to break the news to them just yet, so they’re going to give it a few more days until they tell them. Probably not till after Sebastian’s next appointment where they’ll hopefully be able to find out the genders.
Though something that they still really need to do before they even think of telling their family and friends that they’re having twins, is talk to Sabrina and try to get her to understand that this is a good thing for them all, not a bad thing. They’re not sure how the talk is going to go down, especially when she’s still only a year old, and doesn’t understand what’s going on. Sebastian has to wonder though if the fact that she’s an alpha has anything to do with the way she initially reacted to the news.
Lately, over the last couple of days Sebastian has beginning to think over if he wants to have anymore kids after the twins. He and Chris did previously agree that they’d be done having kids after they’ve finally got the little boy they’ve always wanted, but now? After how rough this pregnancy has been on him, Sebastian’s not so sure if he wants to be pregnant again after the twins.
Besides, if both the twins end up being girls, there are other options that they can look into in getting a son. But would Chris want that?
“Chris.” Sebastian sighs, moving closer to him in bed. It’s currently quite early in the morning, and they both don’t need to be up for a little while. “You awake?”
Chris hums in response, pulling Sebastian closer to him and wrapping his arms around him. “Yeah?”
“I’ve been thinking….” Sebastian says, resting his head on Chris’s chest.
“Thinking about what?” Chris asks.
Sebastian goes quiet. He’s not sure if Chris will agree to it, but it’s worth a shot. “I think I want the twins to be the last kids we have.” He says. “Even if they’re both girls.”
Now is Chris’s turn to go quiet, and Sebastian begins to think that Chris won’t agree to it, considering that they had both agreed to not have any more kids as soon as they’ve got a little boy.
“I thought we agreed that once we finally have a boy that we’re done having kids?” Chris finally asks. “And I thought you wanted a lot of kids?”
Sebastian sits up a little, looking down at Chris. “I did.” He starts. “And, I think I still do.” He admits. “But I don’t really know if I want to be pregnant again after the twins.” He says. “There’s other options available if we want more kids.”
“Adoption takes a very long time and a lot of money though, Seb.” Chris says once it’s registered in his head what Sebastian is referring to. “Anyway, wouldn’t you prefer all our kids to be biologically ours?”
Of course, Sebastian is aware of the long and expensive process that is adoption, but he’s not so sure if he wants to get pregnant again after the twins, however many years after they’re born it may take. He’s interested in adopting a kid though, even though the kid won’t be of his and Chris’s blood. There’s so many children out in the world stuck in orphanages, and if he can give one of them a forever home with him and Chris, then Sebastian will be happy.
Though truthfully, there’s only one place he has in mind where he’d like to adopt a kid from.
“I know that, Chris.” He says. “But you get a decent pay from your job, so I’m sure we can make it work.” He adds. “And, if you’re up for it, then we can easily do it.”
Chris sighs, moving around so he’s sitting up in bed. “Would you still consider adopting a kid if one or both the twins are boys?” He asks.
“Honestly?” Sebastian starts, he’s already thought about his answer to that. “Yes, I would.”
He’d still very much consider adopting even if one or both the twins are boys. He doesn’t care that the kid won’t be biologically his, he’d love them as much as he does his biological kids.
“I don’t know, Sebastian.” Chris sighs, shaking his head. “I mean, why adopt when you’ve got a perfectly healthy working uterus?”
Chris is not entirely for or against the idea of them adopting a kid, he understands that there’s thousands of kids all over the world without homes and parents. He’s just trying to understand Sebastian’s reasoning behind it when he’s got a perfectly healthy and working uterus to carry their babies in, so why choose to adopt? Chris isn’t sure why exactly Sebastian would choose to adopt instead.
Though, if he’s being honest, Chris feels that apart of him not quite understanding Sebastian’s reasoning on the matter is because he’s an alpha and can’t get pregnant like Sebastian can, so he has no idea what it’s like to be pregnant. He’s only been able to hear about what it’s like and watch what it’s like, not experience it for himself.
Sebastian sighs, shaking his head. He knows Chris has a valid enough point with that, and it is a fair enough question to ask. But Sebastian just doesn’t quite want to go through the process of being pregnant again sometime after the twins are born.
“I know, Chris.” He sighs. “I just… I don’t think I want to get pregnant again.” Truthfully, that may change in a few years time, but right now he just doesn’t think he wants to. “And, I just want to give a kid in need a loving home. Orphanages are crowded with children with no real homes or parents, and I want to be able to give at least one of them a loving home.”
Chris knows that Sebastian has every right to not want to get pregnant again, and he supposes that he does get where Sebastian is coming from. There are a lot of children in orphanages without parents and homes, and he can understand why Sebastian would want to give at least one kid that. But adoption is still a long and expensive process, and Chris isn’t entirely sure if he could wait.
“Can I think it over for a few days?” He asks. “I’m not saying I’m a hundred percent against it, but I’m not quite a hundred percent for it either…. Mostly because of how long and expensive the process is.”
Sebastian nods. “Okay. I’ll let you think it over.” He says, just glad that Chris hadn’t shot his idea down as soon as he heard it. He also understands completely that Chris would want to think it over for a few days, he himself has thought it all over before he even considered mentioning it to Chris.
“Great.” Chris smiles, leaning in and giving Sebastian a quick kiss. “And if I know you as well as I think I do, I know that there’s one place in particular that you’d think of adopting a kid from.”
Sebastian laughs a little at that, feeling his cheeks begin to grow a little hot. He had a feeling that Chris would know exactly where he’d consider adopting a kid from.
“Well, there are a lot of children in Romania in need.” He says. “I can think of no other place I’d want to adopt a kid from.” Well, he can actually think of more than just Romania, but he’s known for a very long time that if he was to ever adopt, that it would be from his home country. “And, it would give us the excuse to go over to Romania - which my mom will love - and, you know I have only been back there three times since I left when I was eight.”
Chris nods. The both of them have always discussed travelling to Romania one day, and to take the kids with them. Georgetta would certainly love that for sure. The only reason they’ve never actually travelled there yet, is because the girls are still young, and they’ve always just been too busy. Chris would definitely love to go back there, considering he’s only been there once with Sebastian. Which wasn’t too long before they found out that Sebastian was pregnant with Taissa.
Though, flying in a plane to a different country and taking five kids with them? Chris isn’t entirely sure how that’ll go. He’d imagine it wouldn’t be till they’re all older though, and the twins are at least four or five, possibly older, depending on how long the adoption process would take. If they actually go through with adopting a kid anyway.
“I mean, even though I understand fuck all what anyone is saying, I’d definitely love to go back.” Chris says. “But if we do decide on adopting, it would be when the kids we already have are a lot older, right?” He asks, just to make sure. “I don’t know if it would be wise to travel with three kids all under the age of two years old.”
“Don’t worry.” Sebastian laughs, shaking his head. “It’ll be when they’re all older. I don’t know when exactly we’d do it though, and if we decide to do it in the end.”
Now that’s a very big relief for Chris to hear. Though, it was rather obvious that that would be the case if they were to go through with adopting a child.
“You know….” Chris says suddenly, changing the subject. “We’ve still got quite a while till we have to get up and deal with the girls when they wake.” He informs him. “I think I know something that we can do to pass the time.”
At that, Sebastian pulls away from him a little, raising an eyebrow at him. “Chris, I’m six months pregnant with twins.” He starts, resting a hand on his stomach as he feels one of the twins start to kick. “We are not going to have sex right now!”
“I mean, it doesn’t have to be sex.” Chris points out. “There are other things that we could do.” He says. “After all, once the twins are born, we won’t have a lot of time to ourselves.”
Sebastian just stares at him. He knows that Chris has a point there. Once the twins are born, they certainly won’t have a lot of time to themselves. When you have children, that’s unfortunately something you have to give up a lot of while they’re still young.
“Please?” Chris asks, almost to the point of pleading, and giving Sebastian his best puppy dog eyes - which Sebastian can almost never say no to, just like Chris can never say no to Sebastian’s puppy dog eyes.
“Fine.” Sebastian sighs, giving in. “But no sex.” He reminds him. “Just blowjobs, and I’ll let you finger me, but that’s it okay?”
Chris is quick to sit up more at that, throwing the covers off the both of them. He can definitely agree to that. “Deal.”
******
“Chris, we need to talk with Sabrina about the new babies.” Sebastian says, walking into the kitchen where Chris is currently grabbing a beer out of the fridge.
They really need to talk with Sabrina about it all and try to make her understand that these changes are about to happen soon in a few months are a good thing for them all, not a bad thing like she appears to think they are. Though, they’re not entirely sure how well it’ll all go down and if she’ll be able to understand it all in the end. She is only a year old after all.
At Sebastian’s words, Chris sighs, looking down at the can of beer he’s holding, before setting it back down in the fridge with the rest. He’ll just have to wait till later, he certainly feels like he may need it after they talk with Sabrina. Unfortunately for them all, Sabrina seems to have inherited Sebastian’s stubbornness, and much more than both Taissa and Emma have….
“Okay, we talking about it with just Sabrina, or all three of the girls?” He asks, turning to face Sebastian after shutting the fridge.
“Just Sabrina.” Sebastian says. “Tai and Em already understand it all.” And he sure is glad that they both already understand it all, at least, as much as they can at their ages.
Chris nods, taking a deep breath, before following Sebastian into the living room where the girls are all watching TV, and Dodger is currently over on his bed in the corner chewing on the tail to his toy lion. The toy lion that he more than likely stole out of one of the girls rooms. Though none of the girls have complained about it just yet, so maybe one of them had given it to him.
“Tai, watch Emma please.” Sebastian says. “Your father and I need to talk with Sabrina.”
Taissa just nods, and Chris walks over to Sabrina, picking her up in his arms, before they’re taking her upstairs to their bedroom to try and talk with her. Though, they really don’t know how they’re going to get her to understand it all….
“Now Sabrina.” Chris starts, setting her down on the bed as he and Sebastian sit down also. “We need you to try and understand that the new babies aren’t a bad thing, okay sweetheart?”
Sabrina’s quiet as she looks at both her parents, and both Chris and Sebastian aren’t sure if that’s a good sign or not.
“You’re still our baby girl, Sabrina.” Sebastian says. “But you’ll be a big sister very soon just like Taissa and Emma are, and we need you to be a big girl for us. Can you do that for us?”
“But no wanna be big sister!” Sabrina whines, shaking her head and hitting her hands on the bed. “Don’t want another sister! Baby bad!”
She stands up on the bed, marching over to Chris and falls into his arms, who instinctively wraps his arms around her.
Sebastian sighs at that, wrapping his arms around his stomach as the twins start kicking, seemingly sensing his distress. Sabrina still isn’t happy about the new babies at all, and he’s not sure what he’s going to do if she keeps this up once the twins are born. Having three kids all under the age of two will be hard enough to handle once the twins are born, but having one not happy with the arrival of the other two? That will be even harder to handle.
“Maybe she just doesn’t want another sister?” Chris offers, as soon as he notices Sebastian’s obvious distress - which is instantly. “Maybe she wants a brother instead.”
Though, he’s not entirely sure if that’s the case or not. It could very well be the case, but Sabrina also just doesn’t want to give up her title of being the youngest yet.
There’s also the fact that once the twins are born, they’ll be getting all or the majority of the attention, and Chris can understand completely the distress that Sabrina will feel because of it. He has no doubt that he went through the exact same thing when his brother Scott was born.
Sebastian doesn’t say anything, but he does very much hope that is the case. But he’s not quite sure if it will be. He doesn’t know exactly how Sabrina will feel not getting as much attention once the twins are born, cause he’s never experienced that before, considering he’s an only child. But he can understand that she’s afraid that he and Chris won’t give her any attention when the twins are born.
Chris sighs as he looks at Sebastian, before looking down at Sabrina. “Sabrina, honey. Your mommy and I still love you, the new babies won’t change that, I promise.” He says. “But once they’re born they will take up most of our time because they’ll be small and need us - especially mommy - to care for them. But that won’t stop us from paying attention to you when you need us.”
Sabrina doesn’t answer, just buries her head in Chris’s chest, and Chris sighs as he begins to feel small wet spots seeping through his shirt. He holds her closer to him, rubbing a hand around her back, trying to soothe her. He looks over at Sebastian, who’s staring at Sabrina with sad eyes, and looks to be on the verge of tears.
“She’s going to hate me once the twins are born.” He whimpers, trying not to cry, but fails as tears begin to slip down his face.
“That’s not true, Sebastian.” Chris sighs, grabbing ahold of his hand in his while continuing to rub circles around Sabrina’s back with the other. “She won’t hate you. We’re just going to have to figure out a way to make this work so she feels she’s getting as much attention as the twins.” He says, before looking over at the door. “The same goes for Taissa and Emma.”
Sebastian knows that Chris is right, but with his hormones all over the place right now, it’s just hard for him to truly believe it. But he and Chris are really going to have to work something out so they’re able to give each of the girls enough attention once the twins are born so they don’t begin to feel neglected when most of the attention is going towards looking after the twins.
If they can’t manage to do that, and Sabrina is still not happy with the new babies, then Sebastian isn’t sure what he’ll do. All he wants is for all his children to be happy. Unfortunately though, one of them isn’t, and he feels as though he’s failed as a parent, despite Chris’s assurances that he’s not failed, and that Sabrina is just afraid of losing his attention because most of it will be going towards the twins.
“Come here.” Chris says, catching Sebastian’s attention as he pulls him closer to him.
Sebastian responds by moving as close as he can get to Chris’s side, and rests his head on his shoulder as he stares down at Sabrina. All he wants is for her to be happy.
“It’s okay, Sebastian.” Chris says, kissing the top of Sebastian’s head, as he holds him close to him. “Everything will be fine in the end.”
Unfortunately, Sebastian finds that hard to believe….
