We Don't Talk About Blitzo

Chapter 16 - We Don't Talk About Blitzo

There was intense concentration on Charlie's part thrown into analyzing the pieces. “Why am I in your vision, Blitzo?”

Then Charlie jumped at hearing thunder right behind her. Turning around, hastily hiding the bits of vision behind her, she saw it was Pentious, who was holding a box.

“Tio Penn, jeez…”

“Sorry. Sorry, I didn’t mean to…” The weather manipulator stopped, put the box down, and pushed the cloud out. He even slammed the door on it. “Shoo, shoo, shoo!”

Now turning back to his niece, Pentious explains, “I just wanted to get the last of Collin’s things and then I heard… the name we do not speak.” Then he looks up. “Great. Now I’m thundering and the thunder will lead to a drizzle and a drizzle will lead to a sprinkle-!”

The weather manipulator stops himself and speaks of his mantra. “Clear skies… clear skies… clear skies…”

Pentious gets to navigating around the room for the rest of his younger son’s things, putting them into the box. Charlie was hesitant but thought she had an important matter to get to.

“Tio Penn? If…” The blue bow blonde saw that a drizzling cloud formed over her frazzled uncle’s head. “If he had a vision about someone, what would it mean for them?”

“We don’t talk about Blitzo…” The weather manipulator grumbled out a warning as he wrung out some cloth.

“I know. It’s just… hypothetically, if he saw you…”

“Charlie, please!” Pentious chased away his cloud. Then turning to the blue bow girl, “we need to get ready for the Knolastnames.”

“I just want to know if it was generally positive or less than that positive…”

Then Molly just comes barging into the room. “It was a nightmare!”

“Molly!” Pentious cried out, quickly getting up.

“Hey, she needs to know, Penn. She needs to know.”

The weather manipulator held a finger over his wife’s lips. “We don’t talk about Blitzo!”

However, the sharply dressed lady didn’t listen. “He would see something terrible. And then…” A whole bunch of ticking sounds before, “Boom! It would happen.”

Pentious pulled Molly back. “We don’t talk about Blitzo!”

“What if you didn’t understand what he saw?” Charlie asked real quick.

“Then you better figure it out,” Molly responded, “because it was coming for you.”

Finally, Pentious has had enough and got between the other two, waving a finger in his wife’s face and singing. We don’t talk about Blitzo-no-no-no. Then to his niece’s face, while the sharply dressed lady got into dancing position with the weather manipulator. We don’t talk about Blitzo… but! It was my wedding day

Of course, while she may have usually conceded with Pentious on many points, Molly still wasn’t one to stay quiet. Like now, in the song. It was our wedding day

Then Molly and Pentious were dressed for a wedding. The former was dressed in a pink and white dress with matching jacket and a pink veil while the latter dressed in white clothes, too, but with thin red stripes and a red flower corsage. The setting changed from the nursery to the outside, next to the church, where plenty of people were present. Just like with Ozzie's song, it's not really gonna be explained and, this time, not even Charlie's really gonna pay much attention to it.

The weather manipulator sang next. We were getting ready and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky

Molly had seized her husband from around the waist and got the next line. No clouds allowed in the sky

Blitzo walks in with a mischievous grin. Sure enough, there was a man heavily hooded by that red poncho, the described grin being the only visible facial feature.

Thunder! Cue the thunder.

Then Pentious was getting upset over his wife constantly hijacking his story. Are you telling this story or am I?

Of course, the sharply dressed woman took her husband’s hand and walked her fingers up it and the attached arm. I’m sorry, mi vida, go on

Well, the weather manipulator was never one to stay upset at his wife for long, anyways. Not when she’s the true sunshine of his life. And it was made obvious by the goofy grin on his face at the bit of affection he was given. Then he turned back to the blue bow blonde, still dancing with his wife while continuing the song.

Blitzo says ‘it looks like rain’

Sure enough, the sky was turning gray and cloudy. And Molly still wasn’t one to stay quiet but at least Pentious wasn’t upset about it anymore. Why did he blurt it out?

In doing so, he floods my brain

We had to get umbrellas out and about!

Molly took out an umbrella but it didn’t do much good. Not against a fierce wind that made Charlie stagger in balance. The other people whipped out umbrellas, too, including the priest, who was still Baxter back then.

Pentious vocalized next. Married in a hurricane!

Then Molly. What a joyous day but anyway!

The both of them together as the other people were literally flying away from the harsh winds and their open umbrellas. We don’t talk about Blitzo-no-no-no. We don’t talk about Blitzo!

The sharply dressed lady had departed from the weather manipulator and spun her niece around. The blue bow blonde kept spinning until she was outside in the center of the house, face-to-face with the super listener of the family, who took a turn in singing himself.

Hey. Grew to live in fear of Blitzo stuttering or stumbling. I can always hear him sort of muttering or mumbling. I associate him with the sound of falling sand. Sssh. Sssh

Arackniss made sure to keep Charlie’s attention on him, so that she wouldn’t notice a glowing green figure up on the second floor and behind her. It worked, since Charlie was rather confused even as she copied her elder cousin’s moves, which were rather easy to see since the super listener wore a green shirt and black pants.

It’s a heavy lift with a Gift so humbling. Always left Vaggie and the family fumbling. Arackniss climbed up on chair provided by Vivienne so he could look at Charlie at equal height. Grappling with prophecies they couldn’t understand. Do you understand?

Then Angel couldn’t resist taking a turn when he happened to pass by and upon seeing how most of his family, specifically his branch, were singing about Blitzo. He started by turning into a hobo-ish looking Blitzo with vivid yellow eyes.

Scrawny three-foot frame. Rats along his back. Cue the rats on the back, before they scaled down to the floor. Then the shapeshifter dances with the sinister looking shadows of the rats. When he calls yer name, it all fades ta black

Angel turns back to himself and spins Charlie around, who was then cast under blue light from above. Yeah, when he sees yer dreams and feasts on yer screams…

Angel turns back to hobo-Blitzo and Charlie drops down through a hole on the floor. Luckily, the shapeshifter was somehow below the blue bow blonde and caught her after a second or two of falling and let her down gently.

Then that whole family branch minus Collin as the blue bow blonde walks through a tunnel leading to town. We don’t talk about Blitzo-no-no-no. We don’t talk about Blitzo!

Now Charlie was approached by one of the villagers holding a fish bowl. If she remembers right, that villager was Fizzarolli. Bastard told me my fish would die. The next day, dead!

Then two more villagers came in and provided a chorus, those two being Cherri and Vortex. No, no!

Helsa came up next, still with her donkey. He told me I’d get dumped and just like he said! Then the delivery girl got saddened at seeing her ex nearby and started kicking at the dirt. She sent a dirty glare to Vortex, who made sure to hide behind Cherri as they came past.

No, no!

Finally, Baxter took a turn. He said that all my hair would be gone and now look at my head! He took off his hair, surprising the chorus villagers.

Then all the last five singers, including the chorus line. Your fate is sealed when your prophecy is read!

Finally, they and Collin’s family had spread apart and got into circle formation, while Verosika slowly and gracefully lowered herself down on a swing in the center and took over for a bit.

He told me that the life of my dreams would be promised and someday be mine…

Charlie was very much not amused, even scoffing a little. In fact, her face was just screaming, ‘of course, your prophecy is perfect’.

He told me that my power would grow like the grapes that thrive on a vine…

Verosika was low enough to get down safely on her own and so she did; her hair was held up by the swing seat before falling down in a graceful movement when its owner moved. Meanwhile, Vaggie was coming back to Vivienne accompanied by the Knolastnames. Moxxie was in between his parents, looking excitedly nervous as they got closer and closer to the magical building for dinner.

The Madrigal Matriarch decided to sing out to her family to make an announcement. Oye, Moxxie is on his way

Arackniss was watching from the window, turning away because he found it so painful to see, knowing that Moxxie was on his way for specifically Verosika. He told me that the man of my dreams would be just out of reach, betrothed to another! It’s like I hear him now…

While the super listener was repeating that last line a bunch more times, the flower-producing blonde made flowers to decorate the house with, before turning to her sister and vocalizing a warning.

Hey sis… I want not a sound out of you

Arackniss. I can hear him now!

Then Charlie. Um, Blitzo. Yeah, about that Blitzo. I really need to know about Blitzo. Give me the truth and the whole truth about Blitzo!

Angel had opened the door, shapeshifting into Moxxie and making a cutesy pose. Verosika, your boyfriend’s here!

Then the shapeshifter, still looking like Moxxie, straightened up and laughed. Next, he, after turning back into himself, and others got to setting up the table and getting the next line together. Time for dinner!

Arackniss, Pentious, and Verosika placed the plates accordingly. Angel, Molly, and Husk got the cups, happily tossing them to each other at one point. Pentious and Verosika spun together and looked just as joyous together. While on her way to her room, Charlie couldn’t help but imagine so many lines that were sung at the same time.

Scrawny three-foot frame…

Charlie went back to her room but then stopped at Ozzie’s door. Its glow was still going in and out and, at looking down, the blue bow blonde saw that her brother was struggling in lifting up a houseplant. It was kind of hard to miss the desperate struggle behind it. So Charlie clutched her bag of vision pieces tighter, since she felt more resolved to fix this. She hip bumped the door closed and tilted her bag up. The pieces stumbled down on the top of the dresser. The blue bow blonde got to resembling the vision, like it was a puzzle. She still imagined the sung lines, now accompanied with the images of various people dancing around her.

People like Verosika, Fizzarolli holding the fishbowl, Pentious and Molly in their wedding clothes, Arackniss, Angel, a heavily sobbing Ozzie who’s not even trying to sing. Although Charlie could have sworn she heard her sister and elder cousin sing something else at a certain point. Well, she couldn’t focus on that right now thanks to her head already being jumbled up with so many other things.

When he sees your dreams…

Finally, the multiple lines stopped and everyone joined together in the same one. We don’t talk about Blitzo

Charlie finished piecing it together and was greeted with the image of herself in front of Vivienne, who had cracks all over the outside. The blue bow blonde vocalized her anxiety. Should I really have talked about Blitzo?

Not a word about Blitzo

Maybe I shouldn’t have brought up Blitzo!

Finally, the song ends, with Charlie being on her lonesome in the room. At least until someone had knocked on the door, making the blue bow blonde feel like her heart was going to jump out of her throat.
