Blitzo's Tower

Chapter 13 - Blitzo's Tower

Charlie put all the comfort and reassurance she could muster into that hug. She just never knew what Ozzie had been feeling all this time so it was a shock to find out. Then the blue bow blonde lets out a surprised sound at feeling the muscle-bound Madrigal just wrap her up in a hug and lift her up from the ground.

“Maybe I overdo it…” Ozzie mumbled.

“Yep.”

“Um… there is something you should know. Last night, when you saw the cracks, I felt… weak.” Ozzie’s lip pouted and trembled as he still hugged his sister.

“What?” Charlie inquired.

However, the same guy from earlier called out, “Ozzie! The donkeys!”

The muscle-bound Madrigal was back in work mode, putting the blue bow blonde down. “On it!”

Charlie voiced, “wait, wait, wait! What do you mean? What do you think is hurting the magic?”

While Ozzie was gathering up the donkeys again, he said, “don’t know but I heard the grown-ups once. Before Tio Blitzo left, he had some terrible vision about it.”

“Tio Blitzo? What was in his vision?”

“No one knows. They never found it. But if something’s wrong with the magic, start with Blitzo’s tower. Find that vision. It's as good a lead that you're probably gonna get on this mystery.”

The blue bow blonde took a moment before realizing something. “Wait! How do I find a vision? What am I even looking for?”

The muscle bound Madrigal had finished piling up the donkeys on himself. “Trust me. If you find it, you’ll know. But be careful. Blitzo’s tower is off limits for a reason.”

Charlie turned around to the house, seeing the one part of Vivienne that sticks up the most. Blitzo’s tower.

Well, back at the house, Verosika and Vaggie were walking together on the second floor. The former was creating flowers as she walks, not really needing to use her hands, especially considering she’s linking them with the latter’s.

“Such a perfect match,” the elderly lady gushed.

“So perfect…” The flower-producing blonde seemed just as happy as ever. If happy was subtly forced on someone's face.

“And so good for the Encanto.”

Charlie waited for them to finish walking away before going to Blitzo’s door, which doesn’t have its glow. However, she could still see the etches on it, which makes images of Blitzo in a flowing poncho and with a few hourglasses here and there. The blue bow blonde kind of struggled in opening that door. However, it was opened soon enough and she saw an hourglass-shaped doorway with sand falling down on the other side. Charlie got curious about it, walked up to it, and held up a hand to it. She felt the sand on her hand and saw that the veil of sand was still going.

“Can you turn off the sand?” The blue bow blonde asked of the magical house.

At looking at the floor tiles outside Blitzo’s door, Charlie was shocked at Vivienne's answer.

“You can’t help in here?”

More tile shaking.

“I’ll be fine. I need to do this. For you…” Turning back around to the sand, “for Abuela Vaggie…” Then she deflated as she added, “maybe a little for me.”

Charlie takes a deep breath and mentally prepares herself to go.

“Find the vision, save the-”

The blue bow blonde didn’t finish because, at that moment, she stepped through the sand. She expected more of the floor ahead of her but was tumbling down a downward hill of sand instead, screaming where she stopped speaking.

Charlie was as still as a log once she ceased on falling, facedown in the sand. Although she promptly got up and spewed out sand. Of course, it was a real pain getting it in her eyes. She dealt with that swiftly enough but then the blue bow blonde felt apprehension at looking up. She couldn't even avoid doing it because she was urged to do so by a pointing-up-hand-shaped rock that says ‘your future awaits’. When she looked up, Charlie was greeted with the sight of such a high up rock side, like it was a mountain. It probably is.

“Wow…”

Then the blue bow blonde jumped at hearing a squawk next to her. She calmed down, though, at seeing it was the toucan Collin had made friends with.

“Oh, hello.”

A greeting squawk.

“Lot of stairs but at least I got a friend, right?”

Charlie was, once again, not amused, this time at seeing the toucan just fly away. “Of course. You just flew away immediately. All right, fine! I was prepared to go alone anyway.”

Of course, that was said while ignoring the apprehension that returned when laying eyes on that freaking mountain again, which in turn had her wishing the toucan would come back.
