Waiting on a Miracle

Chapter 9 - Waiting on a Miracle

Charlie felt like she was watching the whole thing in slow-motion, feeling excluded once again. She decides to sing a song to keep herself from spiraling.

Don’t be upset or mad at all. Don’t feel regret or sad at all. Hey, I’m still part of the family Madrigal and I’m fine. I am totally fine

The blue bow blonde approached her family, seemingly in her own world now, which is still in slow motion.

I will stand on the side as you shine… I’m not fine… I’m not fine…

Charlie walks around Ozzie. I can’t move the mountains…

Then behind Verosika. I can’t make the flowers bloom. I can’t take another night up in my room, waiting on a miracle

The blue blonde blonde rests her head on her mother’s shoulder, mindful of the tray of treats. I can’t heal what’s broken...

Then she gestured to Arackniss. … or hear from a mile away a dropped pin…

A hug around Angel’s waist. … I struggle even just blending in

Charlie gripped Pentious’s arm and lightly leaned against him. I can’t control the morning rain or a hurricane

She gotten in front of her family again. Can’t keep down the unspoken invisible pain, always waiting on a miracle. A miracle…

The blue bow blonde left the room, going down the stairs and past some kids with sparklers. Always walking alone

She waved her hand above the sparkler trails. Always wanting for more

At the bottom now, weaving through the crowd. Like I’m still at that door, longing to shine, like all of you shine. All I need is a change

Charlie turned around and looked at her grandmother’s door, which consisted of her holding the candle. “All I need is a chance.”

Then she runs up to that very door. “All I know is I can’t stay on the side. Open your eyes, open your eyes, open your eyes.”

The red bow girl runs and twirls around in the emptier parts of the halls, imagining golden sparkles making images. First, the mountains.

I would move the mountains

Then multicolored dots blooming underneath her feet. Make new trees and flowers grow

Next, the image of the outside of Vivienne itself. Someone please just let me know where do I go? I am waiting on a miracle, a miracle

Charlie ran ahead and through the doors, where her family were gathered around like they were witnessing something in the center that they were proud of.

I would heal what’s broken, show this family something new. Who am I inside so what can I do? I’m sick of waiting on a miracle

The blue bow blonde ran up the stairs. So here I go!

Then she was on the roof of the house, fireworks going off in the sky. I am ready. Come on, I’m ready. I’ve been patient and steadfast and steady. Bless me now as you blessed us all those years ago

Now Charlie was back at the center of the inside of the house. When you gave us a miracle!

Finally, she took a pause before the last line. …Am I too late for a miracle?

At this point, pretty much the whole town was inside Collin’s room, partying. So Charlie was the only one outside of it. It made it easy for her to hear something fall to the ground some feet away. The blue bow blonde turned to see it was a roof tile.

Curious, Charlie walked up to it to investigate. The roof tiles above her were rattling slightly, which she heard. She got down on her knees, growing more curious at the rattling, and then picked up the fallen tile. She saw that it seemed a little old, if the little bit of mold growing on it was any indication.

“Ow!”

The blue bow blonde had felt a sharp pain on her hand, making her drop the tile and turning into more and smaller pieces. She turned her hand over to see that a cut was made on her palm.

It didn’t stop there. Charlie quickly noticed the floor rumbling and she reached out for... something. Perhaps the shattered roof pieces, although she had to be mindful of them now that she had gotten cut.

“Vivienne?”

Before she could touch the floor, though, it cracked suddenly. The blue bow blonde gasped and looked on in worry as the cracks grew. However, they seem deliberate, going in one specific direction.

Charlie soon got up and followed. She was led to the stairs, where the picture of Millie was hung. More cracks formed, this time on the walls. The blue bow blonde followed it with her eyes and soon noticed that the ceiling was forming cracks, too.

She was getting more and more worried as she saw them expand over her brother and sister’s doors, as well as her cousins’ and uncles’ and mother’s. The doors were flickering in and out, their glows, which was greatly concerning.

Finally, Charlie saw the cracks forming up to the window to where the candle is kept, that candle placed up there quickly after the group picture. Then that family flaming object almost lost its fire. It was all that the blue bow blonde could take before running her way to Collin’s room.
