Chapter-10

We entered one of the buildings in the castle; the staircase was so grand and beautiful. I'm the heir. All this belongs to me, I guess. My intestines twisted. Suddenly, it didn't look so beautiful. Every artifact in that room would be costlier than if we sold all my organs.

Astor looked at Theo and Caleb.

"I would like you two to wait here."

"I'm hungry."

Theo said with an embarrassed expression.

"Well, we'll take care of it right away. Anything you'd like to have in particular?"

"Well-cooked food without poison with a side of freedom to leave would do."

Astor laughed.

"We'll serve your 'Well-cooked food without poison' then."

"Where are you taking him? How do we trust you're not going kill him?"

"Well, you have to. You see, you don't have a say in that, neither do you have an option."

Theo gave an eye roll and started strutting towards the sofas. They were magnificent and immaculate; he said, "Scream if you need help, Sy."

Astor gave a smile.

I looked at Caleb. I could see the worry in his eyes for me. I liked that.

"Good luck, buddy."

I pressed my lips and awkwardly nodded.

He rushed towards Theo.

We climbed the staircase, walked down a long corridor, and reached a big gate. All the gates are ridiculously huge here.

"Madam Esmerelda is waiting for you."

He gestured for me to go inside.

I am nervous. But Nina said she could save me. And I trust her.

She might save me. I haven't felt this for anyone in a long while.

It's a good kind of nervousness. I opened the door with all my might.
