Family affairs Part 2.
Phoenix Wakes up around 5:30 to start her day but sends Bob a text before using the bath room.
Nix: Good Morning Bobby. R U awake?
She gets dressed to get a quick yoga session in and finds a reply from her Wizzo.
Bob: Good morning indeed my love. Just finished a quick workout and am about to take a shower and get your truck. I will be there soon. We still on for grabbing breakfast?
Phoenix: Totally! Take your time tho. I got a late start. Or if u wanted to grab the food while I workout quick and shower? You have a better idea of what everybody likes to eat anyhow.
Bob: Can do.
See you in a bit.. But thank you! You were so wonderful last night. You always are. It means the world to me to know how much you care for Cal and Shell.
Phoenix: And you need to enjoy what little time you have with them dear. See you soon!
Bob gets his things together and gets in Nix’s truck to grab breakfast along with a few bouquets for the ladies in his life and rubix cube for Cal.
Nix finishes her workout and showers but just as she gets dressed, she gest a knock on her door.
THUM THUMP THUMP!
Cal: Hey! MS. NIX!!! Are you awake ma’am?!
Phoenix: Hang on! I’m Coming!
She opens the door with a huge smile to see her favorite little guy dressed to the nines in slacks and a dress shirt and holding out some dandelions to his new friend who happens to be a real life fighter pilot that he is enamored with.
Cal: These are for you. I still feel bad I didn't get you anything last night.. Does this help?
Phoenix kneels to his level with a bright smile as she gently takes the flowers and taps his shoulder.
Phoenix: Such a thoughtful young man! Just like your daddy. They are lovely Thank You!
She lightly hugs him.
Phoenix: Come on in! is everybody else awake?
Cal: Not yet but I wanted to make sure I was awake for Daddy when he gets here!
Phoenix: He will be here in a bit. He’s just picking up Breakfast for everybody.
Is there anything extra special you wanted to do with him today?
Cal: Oh gosh! So much!.. But I have to share him with Shelley and my other Grandparents along with my Aunts and Uncles…. I was wondering if we could hangout too?
Phoenix: Absolutely! I promised you we would fly that drone I got you But I will also have to see my family as well at some point.
Cal: That’s totally fine… Can I Meet them too? Are they nice like you?
Nix smirks at him.
Phoenix: Most of them are yes! my older Brother and Daddy are going to love you for sure!
Cal: I promise to be on my best behavior.
But…. I um….Well… Do you think You could maybe let me in the cockpit of your F-18 like you talked about as well?
Nix is trying to think about how she could get away with that as Cal won’t be there because Bob is hiding his kids on purpose.
Nix: I am going to see about making that happen.. Ony trouble is, your daddy doesn't want everybody to know about you guys being here because he thinks people will feel bad for him.
Cal: Gosh! He is too careful sometimes but… It just seems like he’s not proud of us! I try to be good! I REALLY DO!
Cal starts to sniffle as he has a defeated look on his face .
Phoenix: Its not like that all!
Phoenix grabs Cal in her arms and takes a seat with him across her lap again as she cuddles him.
Phoenix: The reason your daddy tries to hide you both is because our job as pilots can be very dangerous and since he is a single parent to you both, He doesn’t want our friends to feel bad for him or that he can’t do his job.
But he CAN do his job…He’s the best at what he does.
He makes me so much better up there with his smarts, and teamwork. I love working with you dad more than anyone else.
But… Well, Calvin?
Calvin? Yes Ma’am?
Phoenix has a very gentle look on her face as she goes for it to ask him the big question.
Phoenix: I want you to know that I understand you and Shelley are your dads most important part of his life and I promise to never try and change that but your dad has become my best friend and somebody that makes me very happy as well.
(Phoenix Realizes she’s trying to gain his approval without Bob being there once again just like she did with Shelley and while that time it worked, She thinks better of it because she can sense how emotional Cal can be.)
I just want you to know that I am going to be there for him any way I can and that I also want to be your friend as well.
THUMP! THUMP! THUMP!
Bob: Nix! I’m here! Any chance we coul-
Phoenix: BE RIGHT THERE! CAL IS HERE TOO!
Bob chuckles to himself nervously and is thankful he wasn’t able to finish his sentence.
Phoenix Opens her door to see Bob having his hands full of flowers and a huge bag of to go breakfast food.
Phoenix: Geez! You went all out!
Cal runs up to Bob and hugs him tightly at his waist while Nix takes the food and flowers from him so he can pick up his little guy.
Bob: How’d you sleep my little man?
Calvin: Ok… But Grandpa sure snores a lot!
Bob chuckles while he kisses his forehead and goes back to holding him in his arms tightly.
Bob: Nix, the Yellow Roses are for you and that card is as well but maybe read it when you’re by yourself?
Phoenix: you are too good to me Sir.
Calvin: Hey Dad! Please tell me you can sneak me on base today so Nix can let me actually sit in the cockpit? I promise I won’t touch anything!
Bob: What do you say Nix, any chance we dress him up like a pilot or stuff him in a backpack and then you give him a quick tour?
Phoenix laughs.
Phoenix: He is relentless and committed just like you for sure.
I have an Idea Bob!
Since you are trying to hide them from the rest of the crew, How about we just tell everybody that they are your Niece and Nephew?
Its a bit of a lie sure, but it also might be kind of fun for Cal to act like he’s undercover behind enemy lines to try and fly back home in a stolen jet!
Calvin: OH MY GOSH DAD!! WE GOTTA TRY! I CAN EVEN BRING HOBBES TOO AND HE CAN BE MY BACKSEATER!!!!
Bob Gives Nix a disappointed stare for Giving Cal one of the best ideas ever because it’s very risky and he tries to keep them away from his professional life in any way he can.
Bob: Well lets talk about this then… But I need you to be a big boy and try your best to understand what Natasha and I are trying to tell you because I will make a deal with you but you might not like what we ask for in return.
Nix Immediately understands where Bob is going and she loves it because Bob is about to use bribery to try and secure Cal’s blessing. She is really digging Bob’s ability to balance his bad boy ways with his arrow straight ethos.
Calvin: I already said I wont touch anything… I PROMISE!
Bob sits on the couch while placing Cal next to him and Nix sits next to Calvin as well.
Bob: So first of all, I need you to know that you and Shelley are the greatest gift God has ever given me and I will never forget that.
But, Since Your mommy passed away, I have been very sad and I haven’t been able to make any friends until recently.
Then, I got to meet Natasha here along with a group of other great teammates and now I have friends again and I am not so lonely anymore.
But Natasha is my best friend and she makes me so happy just like you and Shelley do.
I have asked Natasha out on a date and she is willing but we both decided we need to you both to be OK with that.
Nix Takes Cal’s hand gently and looks him in the eyes with a gentle glint.
Phoenix: Calvin, Your father is the kindest man I have ever met and he also makes me very happy.
But I will never come between you or Shelley’s needs because its like you said last night, you both need him more because your not an adult yet.
I am not going to even try to be your new mom because that is impossible. Nobody can replace her and what she meant.
But what I WILL DO, is always treat you all with love and support.
I doubt I will ever have any children of my own but that’s OK because if you let me, I will try my best to care for you both like you are my own.
Bob: We can understand if you don’t want me to have girlfriend, but I would like to try again as badly as you would like to be in our fighter jet.
I was going make you deal that if you said yes, then I was going to get you in our plane but I will still make every effort to do that regardless of your decision.
Calvin has a frustrated look on his face.
Calvin: Have you asked Shell yet?
Phoenix: We did and she said yes but she did tell me not to hurt your daddy.
And I promised her I won’t.
Cal changes his expression to one of stern resolve.
Calvin: Well, she does get to make the decisions cuz she’s my big sister but I want you to both promise me you wont hurt each other because Daddy, Ms. Natasha is really nice too. DON’T HURT HER EITHER! OK!?
Cal Shoots Bob a look of intimidation.
Bob: I promise.
Cal: Pinky Swear? Both of you please.
BobNix nod to Cal as they offer him their pinkies.
Bob: Thank you Son. I wont let you down.
Phoenix: Yes, Thank you. And I promise I am going to hold you up as well.
Cal: Sheesh. This is a lot to digest for a seven year old don’t you think?
But I’m still hungry! When can we eat?!
BobNix chuckle
While Bob snuggles his little guy.
Bob: Why don’t we all go back to Grandma and Grandpa’s and have breakfast then?
Cal: Cool! You brought the cinnamon buns right dad?
Bob: of course.
Calvin: Dibs!
He runs to the food and grabs a cinnamon roll to put the whole thing in his mouth.
He tries to speak with a full mouth.
Calvin; HEY! Where’s the orange juice!?
Nix is laughing at him hysterically because crumbs are going everywhere as he shoots his dad a grumpy yet cute look.
Bob: Bottom of the bag to the left.
Calvin: OH! Got it thanks dad!
Phoenix: You two go on along now, I will be there in a few minutes.
Bob; Sounds good.. see you soon!
Once Bob and Cal leave her suite, Nix Opens the card on the flowers Bob gave her while she smiles and reads the following.
:Natasha,
No matter the outcome of you and I on the ground, I still get to fly with the best around.
Today might be a really tough test, but you and I both will give it our best.
No matter the outcome of todays trials or fun, I promise to be with you under the moon and the sun.
If they decide we cannot be more than just friends, Just know that my feelings for you still will not end.
I am grateful for your friendship and for every sweet kiss, if it’s to end then it’s something Il miss.
We have been through a lot in just a short while but I promise to always hold your hand l even if it may go out of style.

Nix smiles widely at his Poetry attempt.
And while she found it kind of corny, Nobody has ever wrote her letters before and the last time she got flowers, it for her Prom.
Phoenix Join’s Bob and his family for breakfast where they share in laughter and a few board games but Nix also makes good on her promise to Cal as she flies his drone with him and makes plans to take Shelley out tomorrow evening.
Phoenix and Bob get changed over into their khaki dress uniforms and bring Bobs Kids along to Top Gun where they will be introduced to everybody as Bob’s Niece and Nephew.
Nix is behind the wheel as Bob goes over the plan once again.
Bob: So remember, I am your Uncle Bob today got it?
Shelley: Definitely not the cool Uncle though. You would totally rat me out every chance you got.
Bob: don’t make me come back there!
Bob Gives his a daughter a stupid face and she laughs.
Calvin: So where are you guys going to go for a date?
Shelley: Yea, when are you guys going?
Phoenix: We will get to that but family time is more important. Once you all go back home, We will plan that out but it wont be anything too crazy.
Bob: I thought maybe you and I could try a dance studio and see if we match up with Tango?
I am curious to know if we match up there as well.
Phoenix: Im in!
But is there anything you two wished to do or see while you are here other than our girls night out and getting you in the front seat?
Shelley: Not really.. Just as long I can be with dad as much as possible.
Calvin: SAME!
Bob smiles at nix.
Bob: Without question! I may have to report in to work with Nix in a few days but that shouldn’t take long.
***Back on Base and getting to know the Families.***
BobNix and the kids make it to Top Gun and get to the briefing room where everyone is starting to arrive for a briefing before their family gets here.
Bob looks at his kids nervously because he forgot they cant be with him for this.
Bob hears a low whistle and looks to see Mav with a puzzled look on his face.
Bob walks to him quickly.
Mav: Hey Bob, are these… They are.. that is Shelley and Cal huh?
Bob nods slowly and starts to speak but Mav cuts him off.
Mav: Bring them to my office quick before anybody else sees them!
Mav taps Bobs shoulder with a smile as he gets to Mavs Office with his kids and Nix Behind him.
Bob: Sir, I apologize that I’m not supposed to bring the-
Mav smirks at Bob while shushing him with his hand.
Mav: No worries at all Lieutenant, I could understand how tough it must be for them to be away from you so much.
And… I lost my Daddy when I was very young too.
He gets up to shake Cal and Shell’s hands with a warm smile.
Mav: Your dad is one the finest Aviators in all of the Navy along with Phoenix.
They make such a great team and I am so proud to have them under my command.
My Name is Pete Mitchell but you can call me Mav if you like.
Phoenix: Hey Cal, did you know Captain Mitchell is an ACE?
Calvin looks up at Mav with an open mouth.
Cal: WOW! Oh my gosh Sir! You gotta tell me all about it… I mean.. Please?
Mav smiles at him gently.
Mav: My pleasure… Why don’t you and your Families swing by the Hard Deck this afternoon? Penny and I were going to have a low key Lunch With Bradley and Amelia But I think we can fire up the grill for everybody and close the bar down just for us?
How Many People do we have here with your families Combined?
Phoenix: I have six including me.
Bob: 7 to 9… Its complicated Sir.
Mav smirks.
Mav:No Worries Bob.
Say, is there any chance your kids would like to get a tour your F-18? I could make it happen.
Phoenix: And to think we were gonna sneak this little guy into the cockpit with or without permission.
Nix runs her hand through Cals hair playfully as he looks up at her and smiles.
Mav chuckles.
Mav: Tell you what Calvin, if you can promise me you can behave in here alone with your big sister while we go to our meeting, I will even get you your own little flight suit that we have in storage as we let kids be fighter pilots for a day through the “Make a Wish foundation”.
Cal Jumps up and down excitedly.
Calvin: Wow! I Promise I wont touch anything! Can I just take a nap so I’m not tempted?
Mav: well I don’t have a sleeping bag here but feel free to watch my T.V. and make yourselves Comfortable on my Couch.
Here’s some quarters for the vending machines and If there is any troubles at all.. you just come running to get your old man OK?
Shelley: Got it Mav, Thank you for your generosity.
Mav and thank you for letting your Dad and I serve together Ms. Floyd.
Bob Nix and Mav leave the two in Mavs office but as they close the door Bob cant hold it in.
Bob; Sir, thank you so much! I know I messed up but its just-
Mav Goes to hug Bob tightly.
Mav: Drop it Bob, I lost my dad when I was a kid and I can’t imagine how tough it has to be for them and for you to be in this job yet you still go up there day in and day out.
You are also a man of high character and somebody that I respect greatly. Its my honor to be your Leader and I will do anything I can to see you back with your children safely.
Bob and Mav both have tears in their eyes as they hug harder.
Nix has hard time keeping it together herself but she manages.
Phoenix: Hey Guys, We gotta start the brief in two minutes.
Need a tissue?
They both smirk at her as they all make their way to the briefing.
The briefing goes along but once its finished, Coyote and Hangman try to stir the pot on Phoenix and Bob.
Coyote: Have you kissed her yet Bob? I mean You both disappear for a few days and now you are holding hands under the table during the briefing.
Phoenix: Excuse me?!
Rooster: The hell man! Its none of your business!
Hangman: Well your right on one hand… But on the other, since were all going to be a family of sorts… I expect a wedding invitation if you two are an item.. that’s all.
Bob and Nix Look at each other but they really don’t give a damn what anybody thinks.
Bob: We shared a kiss once or twice and went on a date technically.
We may have some things in common and get along well but we are taking this slowly.
Phoenix: Anybody else want to speak their mind on it?
Bob: We took the past few days to be alone and pack our things at Lemoore to move here.
It just happened but I make no apologies for it.
Halo: And you shouldn’t!
I’ve know you both for a while now and I think you two make a great couple.
Rooster: I second that.
Hangman: I actually kind of think its cute. Just don’t include me in your next food fight OK Sonny and Cher?
BobNix Smirk at each other while Mav puts an arm around both of them.
Mav: We should Probably talk about this in private.
But I’m not going to… Just be good to each other and keep it professional while we are on duty at all times OK?
Bob and phoenix in Unison: Aye Sir.
Mav: Good… I know I can trust you both so that’s why I am not going to push it any further.
Now go be with your families and I will get Cal in your Hornet before the families arrive.
Bob grabs his Kids with Nix close behind and they make their way to their F-18 as Cal is all decked out in a mini flight suit and Mav meets them to explain it all the new Top Gun junior aviator who is besides himself.
Once they finish, they make their way to the visitor area where Nix sees her Mom and Dad and rushes to hug them along with her little brother and Sister.
Bob smiles on this as he holds the hands of his children but then he feels a hug from behind him and he knows that gravely tough voice in a an instant.
Frank: Welcome home Son! And I see I’ve got my grandbabies here as well!
Bob turns around to see his father who his height with a muscular build, scarred forearms, and sun damaged skin form his time as a SEAL.
Bob shakes his dads hand with a smile.
Bob: Thanks Dad! I love you.
Frank: Love you too boy.. but no offense, I love these two way more!
He has Calvin on his back while he lightly hugs Shelley but is joyful laughing out loud.
Bob now sees his older Sister Melanie and Mother Hellen to which he runs up to and hugs.
Mel: Welcome Bobby! So glad your back safe!
Bob: Thanks Mel.. Its great to see you again!
Hellen: And how's my oldest son doing?
Bob hugs his mother tightly>
Bob: Amazing Mom! So much to tell you all later but… Where’s Colin?
Hellen: Well he may here later but he had some drama happen back at 5th Group.
Bob Chuckles: Geez, He left 1st Force to be a Green Beret so he could get away from that stuff.
I guess I will see him when I see him.
Bob: Hey I will Be right back Ok ? I want to Meet Nix’s Family and introduce us all?
Hellen: I love that! Frank stay here with the babies we will be right back.
Frank smiles at Hellen.
Frank: Poor Me! HAHA! Hey what about some Donuts when we get out of here!?
Bob, Hellen, and Mel all walk up to Phoenix but she sees them and Gove her Wizzo a fire smile pf happiness as she hugs him tightly.
Phoenix: SO this is your Family Bob?
Bob: Sure is! This is my Sister Melissa she’s an orthopedic Surgeon in Seattle.
And this is my Mom Hellen.
Phoenix: Nice to meet you both!
She hugs them as they return it.
Mel: Damn Bob your Pilot is Gorgeous! Any chance you asked her out.
Phoenix and Bob Look at each other but just start laughing.
Phoenix: Yes.. and Yes!
Mel: giggles too and Hellen is all smiles.
Bob: Unfortunately, my little brother isn’t here yet because of some drama in his Special Forces group.
Phoenix: Well my Older Brother wont be in until tonight because he is a Battalion Executive Officer for the 5th Marines out of Pendleton.
But this is my Mom Brenda.
Brenda and Bob immediately hug and say hello followed by Bob Meeting Nix’s, Younger sister Sara and her younger brother Tony.
They make quick talk and after Bob discovers that sara is a dancer and that Tony Plays Mine craft, He calls his kids over to introduce them to Nix’s siblings.
Sarah is 17 and Tony is 14 but the kids start to get along very well as they meet.
Brenda: So Bob, You have children then? Are you Married as well? Where’s your Wife?
Bob has gentle eyes about him as he tries to respond but Nix has his back.
Phoenix: Mom, his wife passed away a few years ago and he’s a single daddy to these amazing little tykers. He’s such a great man!
Brenda goes back to hugging Bob tightly but she has tears in her eyes.
Brenda: Oh Bob, I am so sorry! Natasha has told me many wonderful things about you and I was beginning to think she was pulling my leg but you really must be all that and more.
If you ever need anything from me or Marc. Don’t hesitate to ask us?
Bob: Thank you Brenda: You are very kind just like your wonderful daughter. Its been an honor serving with her.
As Bob looks up he can See Nix Hugging a guy with a large mustache and a happy smile.
Bob: is That Marcus Brenda?
Brenda: Sure is! He’s my everything and then some. I will introduce you.
Brenda Get’s Marc’s attention as she introduces Bob and Marcus but Marc Hugs Bob tightly.
Marc: So nice to meet you Bob! Natasha tells me so many wonderful things about you and how you and I share a lot in common. God Bless you Son.
Bob: God Bless you Sir, It has been such a privilege working with her and the way she has back. I care for her deeply .
Frank Finally makes his way around to everyone and plays nice as well.
As BobNix and Their Families make their way out from the crowd to be together in a quieter place, BobNix stop and are blown away as they See Hangman giving a large bouquet of flowers to a Tall and very attractive blonde Marine Officer in her Dress uniform followed by a passionate kiss.
Phoenix! Even the old Douche nozzle has some sort of class to have a lady like that!
Hangman hugs her quickly but as he sees BobNix looking on him in amazement, he quickly takes her hand and they start walking quickly away from the crowd.
Bob: I think he is trying to hide something.
Phoenix: Sound familiar?
Bob shoots her a dirty look.
BobNix and their families all make small talk and are getting along very well while Phoenix and Bob walk closely together and resist holding hands but keep smirking at each other.
Sara and Shelley are deep In Conversation about dancing and fashion while Cal and Tony talk about their Favorite Spiderman cartoon episodes.
Frank And Marcus can be heard laughing very loudly together while they talk about their service days.
Hellen and Brenda both have quiet tones as they look on their husbands and make fun of them together while giggling.
Mel is right behind Phoenix and Bob but she's ever so curious to know about their relationship.
Mel: So Nix,what made you fall for this nerd anyhow?
Phoenix: Well, he is actually cute as hell when I get the glasses off him but… Nah hes just a good man with a big heart and he can dance. I don’t want to compliment him any further though because he might get an inflated ego.
Mel laughs.
Mel: He couldn’t even if he tried… Hes too much of an Altar boy.
Nix starts laughing hard.
Mel: What?
Phoenix: I call him Choir boy all the time!
Mel: nice!
Bob: Oh Cmon! I have lightened up a bit now.
Phoenix: That he has Mel. He’s just about the right mix of good man with bad boy from time to time.
Mel: Well, I’m glad you found it in you to try again Robbie. Carrie was amazing but nobody said you don’t deserve to be happy again with someone else.
Bob: Thanks’ Mel…. And happy I truly am.
Phoenix: well we should probably tell everybody soon so nobody is caugh toff guard.
Bob: we will once we are at the Hard Deck.

BobNix and their Families arrive at the Hard Deck around Lunch and Mav, Bob and Marc get to work in the kitchen makin gbrugers and Steaks While Nix, Mel, Shelley, and Penny start making Salads together and the girls are having a fun time talking about life and dresses.
Wes and Cheryl decide to come out as well and spend time with their grandchildren and meet some of Bob’s coworkers.
Wes and Frank are enjoying each others company along with doting on Cal while he plays with his RC truck and drone.
Rooster sits with Brenda whom hes know for years now but also gets to meet Brenda and Hellen Who are deep in conversation about their kids dating and they are a fan after what they just saw.
Cheryl Joins them and Helen is quick to love on her along wit introducing her very kindly.
In The kitchen, Bob and Marcus start to bond as they are cooking burgers together.
Marcus: So Bob, I understand you are a single father to these sweet children out there?
Bob: Yes Sir. They are my world… Well I mean my physical one.. See.. I try to keep God as my number one focus but its difficult sometimes.
Marcus: As long as you understand what he expects of you and that you try, I believe you are on the right path.
For me, I struggle with my wealth because in the Book of Matthew, Jesus tells the Parable of the rich man and how it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than a rich man get to heaven.
Bob Smiles at him.
Natasha told me how humble and devoted to your faith you are and I like that.
I believe humility is a good way to live.
Marcus: I wish to ask you Bob, I heard something of a rumor that you and Natasha might be dating?
I’m not opposed if so.. Not at all! But..
Bob stops what he's doing to look into Marcs eyes with sincerity .
Bob: And I have been out of line Marcus, I was taught to ask a woman’s father for permission first and I had not.
I apologize to you.
Marcus takes bobs by the shoulders gently and smiles.
Marcus: I knew you were that type of man with old school values and I enjoy your faith and the way you love your children.
If you ever need help with that, would you let me know?
I am blessed beyond all measure with resources to help people and I love being a blessing to people.
Bob Looks at Marc with eyes about to burst and hugs Marcus tightly.
Bob: Thank you for your Kindness Marcus… I see that you also try to love Like Jesus.
Marcus: As do you Mr. Floyd. And I want you to know that you have my blessing.
Bob has watery eyes as they shake hands and smile gently at each other.
Bob: If you will excuse for one moment Please.
Bob makes his way to Nix as she is slicing carrots.
Bob: Ms.Trace?
Nix Gives Bob a silly face.
Phoenix: Bob Floyd?
Bob goes in to kiss her slowly with his hands on her face.
He finally breaks away.
Bob: Your father gave me permission to see you outside of work and I greatly respect his ways.
That is all love.
Bob goes to walk away but Nix isn’t having it.
Phoenix: Not so fast!
Im not done with you yet.
How about we go cool off in the cold storage for a while?
Penny chuckles.
Penny: The Key is by the register out front.. have Fun!
BobNix look at each other like two wild teenagers.
Shelley looks at them both with smirk.
Shelley: Hes not going to do it Nat, Dad doesn’t know how to be anything but prim and proper.
Phoenix: Sure he does Shell, He just needs some encouragement and I know how to influence him.
Shelley: Yea well….Goodluck.
Phoenix and Bob emerge form the kitchen to see everybody having a nice time in deep conversations and laughter.
Bob sees Cheryl and Wes also doing fine as Rooster has Now Joined Frank and Wes by playing with Cal and his toys.
Brenda, Hellen, Sara, and Cheryl are playing a card game and Tony is also by the guys playing a game on his phone.
Phoenix also takes in the view but sees Bob smiling as she hugs him from behind.
Phoenix: Talk to Bob, What are you thinking?
Bob takes her hand gently that’s resting on his shoulder and kisses it.
Bob: I am thinking that all of our families together is wonderful place to be.
What are you thinking Phoenix?
Phoenix: I think your right.
We both come from great families, and I can see that Carrie did as well.
I am so happy right now.
I never told you why I noticed you here did I?
Bob: No, you didn’t.
Phoenix: I noticed your eyes. They told me you wanted to belong but your anxiety wouldn’t let you do it alone.
I saw a Man who wore his uniform with immaculate starching and creases along with perfect placement on his ribbon rack of all your awards. I saw you do everything with attention to detail and give it your best every time.
But then, as I was roasting Hangman, I heard you giggling like a schoolgirl and saw you spill your seeds.
I knew I could make you happy right then and there but I didn’t know if I wanted too because I figured you were just like the rest.
But you weren’t and you aren’t.
That bird strike was the best worst thing to ever happen to me.
Once we hit the deck together, You showed me that you truly were something different.
You stopped holding back and told me everything.
And as I got to know you and your rough past, the loss of your wife, and the struggle to be the best single parent anybody can be, I saw the man that I wanted be with.
And now, here we are.
I know its too soon to make the call but just know that I really believe in us together.
Bob: As do I Nix.
I remembered you from Annapolis right away. I remember how kind you were to me so I felt like at least I know somebody here after all besides just Halo.
I was a little bummed when you didn’t remember me but you still were easy to work for and with.
I never paid any attention to a lady with darker skin, brown eyes, and dark hair.
But this time…. I really was blown away.
You also wore you uniform perfectly.
The way you walked told me you were capable of leading.
You had my full attention but I fought my feelings for you because of Carrie and because of my kids.
Now, I don’t have too and now I want you very badly this evening someway and somehow.
Phoenix whispers in his ear.
Phoenix: Me too. I am going to rip that uniform off of you once your kids are in bed.
We are going to see if our imaginations can match what we think we are capable of.
I know this is moving fast but hell, we do go fast for a living don’t we?
Bob: Only a touch above Mach-1 but Yes that is pretty fast anyhow.
So long as we establish our relationship isn’t just about going fast because I have truly enjoyed our time playing civil and having our clothes on as well.
Nix Chuckles.
Phoenix: Balance Bob. We can do both and I love both myself… But tonight at some point, we are going to finish what we started.
Bob: Its been a few years Nix, hopefully I remember what to do.
Phoenix starts laughing behind him.
Phoenix: Well then, why don’t you read Song of Solomon real quick for a refresher or a page or two from a romance novel.
Bob is now laughing hard but trying to keep it down.
Bob: I love how you encourage me to have fun.
But we should probably skip the make out sesh in the cooler for now and go hel-
Phoenix: You r Daughter called you out for not having the guts to be dirty.
Are you going to let her win?
Because I’m not.
Bob: good point.
They grab the keys and make their way to the cooler for rowdy make out where they get a little rough with each other but both consented and had some fun.
The two get their uniforms back on carefully and make their way back to helping make a late lunch but on their way they quietly acknowledge each other’s skills.
Bob: I’m a fan of that mouth of yours.
Phoenix: Well shit me too! Not everybody can find it btw.
They fist bump and laugh hysterically as they get to through the Kitchen door to see Shelley have a smug look.
Shelley: while that took a minute, I’m betting you had to encourage him just for some tongue huh?
Phoenix: Bob, Can I show her?
Bob Smirks as he shrugs his shoulders while Nix pulls his collar down a bit to show a fresh teeth marks on the base of his neck.
Phoenix: Your dad isn’t exactly a submissive either as he left a few marks on me as well.
Shelley has a look horror on her face.
Shelley: Weirdos.
I’m gonna go check on Cal.
Phoenix: We showed her.
Bob: Yea not sure if that’s good or bad yet…. Whatever she will get over it.
BobNix Get Back to helping make lunch and dinner as the plan was to do both there anyhow. (Don’t worry the totally washed their hands after the make out sesh 😉 . )
Once the food is ready, Bob says a prayer of thanks and they all dig in while enjoying each others company.
As they are halfway through the meal,
Bob stands up to make a toast to his fellow daggers and family who are present and to announce that he and Nix are dating.
Bob: First of all, I want to thank everyone for being here today.
Some of us have known each other as family for along time and Wes and Cheryl Welcomed me into their family many years ago but they also bonded with my own family with Frank and Hellen.
Then, I started my own family with Carrie and the three of us always were there for each other.
These past three years have been very tough on Shell, Cal, and myself but we always had our other two families to lean on and its something we will always be grateful for.
But now I have the pleasure to welcome another family with open arms as their Daughter and I serve together.
Seeing you all welcome each other today does my heart great joy and meeting my Pilots family has also encouraged me to know them more as well.
But I also have another Family.
Some of them are with me as Nix and Rooster have become my family along with our commanding Officer Captain Pete Mitchell who trained us and served with us on a mission that we can never speak on.
I Salute you all and wish you to know that I am humbled to be in your presence.
I must also make it known that Lt.trace and I have become more than great coworkers in our time serving together and we have been careful to move forward as we both have different priorities in our lives yet we have chosen to seek a relationship beyond our Careers.
We understand this is not to be taken lightly and have gotten the blessing from you all to move forward but I am grateful for your support.

The entire table erupts wit enthusiasm as everyone raises their glasses.
Bob sits back down next to Nix as she gives him a nod of approval.
Phoenix: The quiet man knows how to make a ruckus if he has to.
I’m impressed.
Bob: I wonder how it would have been with a few drinks in me.
Nix chuckles.
The families continue to mingle with each other and the Juke box is bumping classic sings as Bob dnaces with his daughter, Phoenix Dances with Cal,
Mav dances with Penny and the rest of them also dance along.
Cheryl and Brenda get along together as they talk about their fine exotic tastes while Marcus and Wes bond over their faith and were seen studying scripture together.
Sara and Shelley break off to talk about boys and the latest fashion trends while Calvin is in between Phoenix and Bob as they continue dancing while including him an yway they can.
Phoenix really enjoys the way Cal is all about her and loves the random hugs and questions about flying the Hornet.
Cal is loving the way she give him her full attention when he asks her questions and her snuggles are the best.
Bob cannot believe how well the two get along and he is over the moon by it.
He does hope that Nix and Shell can find some common ground as well however because he wants her to also be bought in as he looks to start a new chapter in his life.
A few more hours go by and all the ladies decide to break off and have a collective girls night out with shopping, and other things but Nix makes sure to break off to get some one on one time With Shelley and buys her some more great clothes along with having fun at the arcade and talking dance.
Shelley: So Nat, you are actually pretty cool.
I figured you for a some rich chick who didn’t know what its like to have any responsibilities but I totally can see now how you are real and how much you care about my dad and us.
Thanks for being cool. Im sorry I judged you.
Phoenix: I would have too if I'm being honest. But thank you for giving me a chance.
I will never be able to replace your own mother but that doesn’t mean I cant be here for you either like I promise to be for your dad and brother.
I probably wont have my own kids and that's really OK if I get to know you all better.
Shelley hugs Nix but she has to keep it light.
Shelley: I don’t know, Dad hasn't been snipped though so maybe there’s a chance.
Nix laughs.
Phoenix: ah hell, if it happens it happens.
The Guys are also having stupid fun back at the Hard Deck as they play Beach volleyball and share drinks along with alot of gut busting laughter as Frank puts Cal and Tony through his own version of “Mini Buds” where he makes a call to his seal buddies stationed in Coronado and they join him as “Instructors” while they goof off with Cal and Tony but the boys are loving the physical activity while Frank’s buddies are making jokes around them.
Bob is in between Marcus and Wes as they discuss more scripture and have some laughs of their own while they watch the boys try keep an inflatable boat from capsizing and Frank is right there with them as the boat capsizes.
But Frank knows how to swim and always keeps the boys from being in any serious danger.
Just then, Bob hears a familiar Voice behind him along with one doesn’t know.
Colin: Geez Mike! My Dad is hitting my nephew and your brother with surf torture.
We should put a stop to this!
Michael: I love it! Just like the old days in RIP (Recon Indoctrination Program)
Bob gets ups to see his younger brother Colin and he hugs him tightly.
Bob: Glad you could make it baby Bro!
Colin: Wouldn’t miss it for the world! Welcome home!
Colin: But Hey I want you to meet Nat’s older Brother Michael Trace…. Or should I say Major Mike Trace of the 1st Mar Div. but he was a Second Lieutenant when I new him in 1st Recon battalion before I switched to the Army.
Bob: You Knew Nix’s Brother? That is wild!
Bob and Mike go to shake hands with a smile.
Mike Its Nice to finally meet you Bob, Nat told me great things about you being the best Wizzo she ever had and since I know your little Brother and he also speaks volumes of you, I am glad to know you are not a fairy tale.
Bob: The pleasure is all mine Sir, Nix has also spoke highly of you and your own family!
Are they here today?
Mike: Nah, their all sick with a cold but I’m sure we will all link up at some point.
Colin: Hey Robbie, I will be back… I gotta go nail the old man with a surf hit.
I could use a fellow Recon Ranger however as dad is pretty tough with his time in Devgru.
What do you say Mikey?
Mike Looks at Colin with a wink.
Mike: Lead the way Green Beret.
They both take off in a dead sprint ditching their shirts along the way as they wrap up frank and play fight him.
Marcus: If that doesn’t beat all… My Son and your Brother knew each other all this time and now here we are altogether.
Bob: Its like as though this was all meant to be.
Wes: Yes gents, Gods timing.
Marcus and Bob both Look at Wes and Nod gently with a smile.
Its now 7 P.M. as the ladies return to see all the guys having just finished making dinner.
The meal goes over very well with more laughter between the families but as it starts to get dark, everybody breaks off and goes their separate ways but frank and Hellen insist on taking Cal and Shell overnight so wes and Cheryl can have abreak but Bob Makes sure he spends time tucking them in at the hotel and praying with them before and waiting for them to sleep be fore he leaves to be back at Nix’s side.
Phoenix says goodnight t to her family and texts Bob.
Nix: Phew! What an amazing day! I am Free now Mr.Floyd and while we both have our families around for the next 5 days, what do say you come back to my suite and spend the night with your lonely and horny Pilot?
Bob: Copy, I’m on It!
Phoenix: you better be!
Bob gets back to Nix;s Suit and the two embrace in a long kiss.
Bob: I don’t know about you, but todays felt like I was dreaming.
I had such a wonderful time with my family and with yours!
Phoenix: I know! And to think that Michael and Colin Served together as Recon Marines is an awesome touch!
I love this day Bob.
Bob: I love what we have done together in such a short time. We have been careful,kind, and considerate to each other from the moment we met but now, I wish to be with you in ways that we haven't before. We spoke on this earlier today and my intent has only grown stronger. I am all yours and yours alone if I may have the privilege to-
She holds him closely while softy biting his ear and whispers.
Phoenix: Now, we are all by ourselves and have had one hell of a day but I would like to also have one hell of a night with my backseater doing some piloting as well.

Bob: With all that I have Natasha.
He gently kisses her forhead as they sensually and slowly give themselves to each other.
Phoenix and Bob Spent the night together in pure bliss as they went all the way with both of them not having any regrets.
They spend the next few days with their families but Phoenx and Bob made sure to focus on Calvin and Shelley the most.
After that, Phoenix Took Leave to be with Her Family back home for a few weeks but not before Flying Bob Back home to be with his kids as where she spent a few days with them in Virginia and continued to draw closer to Bob and his Kids.
Calvin and Nix beame very close and would spend a lot of time together snuggling or talking about flying while Nix always made time for Shelley as well so she could just be a girl again and get her out of the house.
Bob Continued to fall in love with Nix as she took his children on wholesale while Nix also enjoyed to get Bob all to herself as the kids went to bed.
Its want always about making love.. they spent a lot of time dancing and talking as well while both enjoying each other’s company.
Once their leave ended, They both returned to Top Gun where the two continued to turn heads in the air as they were an even better team than before and also on the ground where they began racking up numerous trophies from local dance competitions.
*****WARNING**** I AM GOING TO GIVE A QUICK NARRATION OF THE END OF THE STORY HERE IF YOU WANT TO BE DONE, IF NOT....THEN READ NO FURTHER AND SKIP TO THE NEXT CHAPTER ***
Robert and Natasha went on to get married and have a daughter of thier own followed by another son but Shelley and Calvin were still very much a huge part of Nix's life as well. She would particularly remain very close to Calvin and lovingly refer to him as her "Bonus Boy" where she was instrumental in teaching him how to fly and giving him priceless advice as he followed in her footsteps and became a fighter pilot as well but, Calvin chose to fly with the Marines as he always admired his uncle and didn't want to have the stigma of his step mom over his head as a legendary Naval aviator and an Admiral.
Bob Also stayed in the navy but switched to avionics support in order play it safe for his children's sake while also being Nix's aid once she became an Admiral and he retried at 23 years as a Captain so he could become a stay at home dad and switch to helping thier children become outstanding adults.
The two shared an amazing life together while never missing a chance to dance the night away whenever possible and to eagerly serve each other with commitment, respect, and love.
