*Talk to me Bob, In the Air and on the Deck Edition

BObNix make their way to Lemoore to pack their belongings and drive back to Top Gun since both were stationed there but Nix discovers that Bobs old Pilot “Gambit” was expecting him to return to him after the mission and is none to pleased.
Bob is more than happy to get away from her as she has been gunning for him with a long history of trying to make him hers.
BobNix end up gambling a bit themselves to try and deflect her.. it works but it also comes at a cost because they now have to address their actions after kissing each other and both liking it.

All of the Daggers made it back to Top Gun, but it was late at night and while everyone else had a barracks room there, Nix didn’t because of her suite she rented off base.
But the story picks up here with the three talking.

Rooster: So where are you going to sleep tonight Nix?
Phoenix: The rec Room. I don’t feel like going all the way to my suite..I’m beat.
Bob: No way! You can have my room if you want Nix.
Rooster: or Mine! Bob, can I sleep with you?
Bob: Of course you can.. so long as Nat is all good.
Phoenix: I Appreciate it boys but, women aren’t allowed in the male barracks.
I can manage some sleep on a couch.
Rooster: Then I am coming with you!
Phoenix: Fine, but you better not snore again.
Bob: Would it be Alright if I join in as well?
Nix and Roo look at each other with a smirk.
Rooster: Rule of three! This is gonna be lit. Bob, Lets get our civilian clothes and some snacks from our rooms and have a blanket fort sleepover!
Bob: IM THE BEST AT THESE!! My kids and I used to do them all the time!!

Phoenix and Rooster look at each other again and smile wide to see Bob happy.
Phoenix: You two characters are cute as hell right now.
But would one of you have something I could wear like a regular shirt or some sweats?
Rooster: most of my stuff is dirty but I can look.
Bob: My stuff is all clean and I can make it happen… tell you what? Why don’t I grab your stuff for you there Roo while you two set up the couches and look for something kind of string for the blankets and such?
Rooster: I love it but Bob, please remember to bring my Pop Tarts and I have some pop corn bags in on the top shelf.
Bob: Im on it!
Bobs takes off to the Barracks while Nix and Roo get to work but they both cant resist talking about their new mutual friend.
Rooster: I freaking love that guy Nix, he is so nice, encouraging, and funny in a nerdy way but he cares about us both and the whole team so much.
It’s like he gives everybody around him a piece of his heart and I wonder how he has anything left.
Phoenix Stops give Rooster a look of thoughtfulness.

Phoenix: I think I am falling for the nerd Roo.
Rooster: Oh? This from the Girl who only likes the guys who are wild with perfect bodies?
Phoenix: First of all, maybe I am growing up a bit. Second, I have never met somebody before that gives me what I expect without any strings attached.
But he has been through so much and also has staggering responsibilities being a widower with his kids.
Did you know he was face timing them every chance he had on the ship?
I could hear how much they love him and how he is all about that Dad life.
Rooster: Did they ever talk to you?
Phoenix: I introduced myself and got along with them great!. Virtually that is and then I also spoke to them again before we started our flight and I love them even more.
But with Bob, they are his world along with his God that he is devoted to but I have my career to keep me occupied and I love it that way.
Yet I keep thinking about him and I love being around him.
Rooster: You have to know he also likes you back.. I mean… He was all about being “Mr. Shy Guy” but then you two start making out on the floor in front of everybody with your play fight and refusing to leave each other during the dinner.
Phoenix: And I may have overheard him praying about me.
Rooster: So you both are being cautious… that’s important. This isn’t something to be taken lightly like you and I did in the past… I told him about us by the way and he was actually bummed for us because he thought we were a lock.
Phoenix: Oh thank God I don’t have to now! And that sounds like him alright.
You and I had some good times together for sure but not like that…. I’m afraid it may be a repeat of that with Bobby here but I don’t think he could bounce back like you if we burn in.
Rooster: I think he’s full of surprises Nix. But I want you know that I will always have your back no matter what but Please never ask me to turn on him if things get ugly either.
He couldn’t take losing everybody.
Phoenix: And I would never ask you to.

Rooster goes to hug her.
Rooster: Of course! Any time Nix But thanks for being you and including him from the start. But you need to address your feeling to him or I will spill the beans.
He needed a friend to get going and I think he’s going to really start meshing with everyone else soon enough now because of your spark.
Phoenix: Kind words from a great friend. even if you are threatening me a bit.
I still love you.
Rooster: Always.
Roo and Nix get back to setting up the couches in a “U” configuration so everyone ha their own spot to sleep with Nix at one end, Rooster in the other wit Bob in the middle.

Bob Gets back after grabbing the extra clothes, blankets, and treats but he took time to shower and get dressed for bed in gym shorts and a t shirt.
Bob: Ok! Rooster here’s your stuff as requested.
Rooster You remembered!
And Nix Here you go.
He hands her his Unit t-shirt, Navy- Issued sweat pants, and sweat shirt as well.
Pheonix: You are too good to me Bob. Thank you.
I’m going to shower up and be back soon.
Rooster Perfect!
Bob and Roo make the blanket fort in short order while using the high stools as the beams for the blankets so they can also see the T.V. and have a movie night with snacks.
Bob: I consider myself rather resourceful but you have a great taste as well when it comes to these... Your going to be a great father someday as well. I just Know it!
Rooster: Thanks bud. I love having the two of you around and am stoked we will all be together for the long term.
Bob: Me too.
Rooster: I’m gonna start the popcorn but did you want a pop tart for now cuz I’m having one.
Bob: I’m good thanks… I brought my own party mix.
Bob shows Roo his Oreos, and he gets excited.
Rooster: Oh dude! Careful!! Those are Nix’s Favorite! She might do some very naughty things to you if you share with her… But, I love them too.. can I have some?
Bob: Of course you may but as far as dirty things, I cannot even entertain those thoughts so you may have to pull her off of me.
Rooster: Whys that? Its pretty obvious you like each other with always being together now while also sharing laughs and totally flirting.
Bob: And Im loving it but I have to guard my heart against lustful thoughts and I am starting to feel like I am dishonoring Carrie’s memory by even wanting to know Nix Better… Even if we gave each other our blessing if something should happen to one of us.
Rooster: Do you think that was mutually honest when you both agreed?
Bob: To the best of our understanding… Yes but the more I am with Natasha the less I think of Carrie. We helped save each other from a life of misery while also knowing god better together.
Am I bad man for wanting to try something different?
And What about my Kids? They are second to my faith but that would place Nix at third… She deserves to be higher.
Rooster: Pretty sure she would be happy to be with you in any capacity.
You like her and she likes you. You’re going to have to address it sooner or later. So here’s the deal… You have a few days alone right? In these next few days you two hash it out and see where it lands but if you two are a go… Keep me posted so I can try to help you BOTH if I can.
I refuse to take sides, but I need to be there for my friends like all three of us do anyhow.
Consider this my warning order: You get this taken care of, or I will call you both out.

Bob: Can I have my Oreos Back?
Rooster: Hell no!
They both chuckle at each other.
Bob: I don’t suppose you would have said the same thing to Nix while I was gone?
Rooster: I gave YOU the ultimatum. I gave her an encouraging push to speak on her feelings about you being a very good man. She’s truly a hell of a woman Bob, and she really cares about you and your kids!
I suggest you both come clean then see if you can prioritize and execute a plan going forward.
Bob: Well, I’m sure not tired now!
Rooster: I bet! But think about what I said and lets finish the fort!
Bob: Deal.
As the boys put the finishing touches on the fort and Rooster casts his phone to the T.V. to watch the Parody Movie “Hot Shots”, Nix comes back from her shower.
Nix: Now that’s a fort! Nicely done boys. How do I look ?
Rooster: Like Bob looks good on you… I mean his clothes of course.
He smirks at both of them with a shit eating grin and they look at each other while rolling their eyes.
Phoenix: Well, I don’t hate it so far. Nice movie choice! Lets watch!
Rooster: Can you wait for me to shower first?
Bob: Totally!
Phoenix: If we have to. But no intensive self care you here me!? Its already getting late.

Rooster: No Promises.
Roo grabs his change of clothes and make his way to the shower.
Bob: I think you look lovely as ever Nix.
Phoenix: and your not so bad yourself. You know, that shower really helped me wake up a bit and we got time to kill so… we both alluded to being dancers and the blue tooth speaker is on stand by.
How about something slow while we try to get a feel for each other?
Bob: How could I not!?
Phoenix smiles and starts to play a classic from the 60’s
The two take each others shoulders and start moving about the room slowly as they feel each other’s rhythm out but they are both a bit distracted by seeing each others happy eyes and gentle smiles.
They don’t say anything for a good minute because the smiles turn to giggles while Nix buries here head into Bob’s chest because this shouldn’t be funny but it is to the both of them.
Phoenix: Why are we acting like were two rebel teenagers out past curfew dancing with each other against our parents’ wishes?
Bob starts giggling harder.
Bob: That’s very poetic Nix, did you also dabble in the arts?
Phoenix: No but maybe you should introduce me sometime?
Bob: My pleasure. But dancing with you has my full attention this evening. She pulls away with a happy smile.

Phoenix: I want more of this. Tell me, Whens the last time you danced with someone? Why do I want you closer to me?

Bob Looks at her with a hint of anxiety.

Bob: Because I wish for it too. They step in to each other and lock eyes but dont say anything for a moment. They both know now for sure.

Bob:Natasha, Why can I see That shining glint in your eyes when its dark in here? They are so pretty. YOU are so pretty. I. I haven't danced with anyone since Carrie and yet I want more than just a dance. I confess that I am attracted to you. You must know as well but-

 Phoenix: I heard your prayer in the Chapel after our mission. I knew since then but the way you prayed about me and for me. you hit my heart. You are a good and honest man with character. The day we crashed and you took care of my wound, you could have seen my girls as you cut away my bra but you made sure to avoid a sneak peak. you were careful with your hands and I could feel how your hands respected my body and how you went out of your way protect my dignity. I want a man like that to share my life with. I like you too. Bob: I am comforted and encouraged with you in my arms like this and yet, I consider how your career is your priority while my faith and children are mine. But, I want you now as well.

Phoenix: As do I but… before we talk this through much further, we need Shelley and Calvin’s approval. I know they must come before me… Now, I don’t hold my faith as highly as you, but I know you view it as paramount but I ask you to consider my career as it carries the same weight to your hierarchy.

Bob: I wish to thank you for understanding me and I assure you I understand your parameters. Shelley and Calvin will decide if we move forward but I am grateful for your friendship and trust no matter what. Phoenix moves her hands to his back and stops dancing but Bob does the same as they hug each other tightly.
Phoenix: That is the only way it must be.
Bob: Nix… You are full of grace and understanding I don’t know how to thank you.

Phoenix: Its Mutual Bobby. Maybe we leave it at that and just use our time alone to move slowly and carefully support each other while giving and taking but meeting in the middle at all times?
Bob: I agree. God made you very wise Natasha.
Phoenix: And God made you something that I want to know better.
They Look on each other with compassion and great care.
They are just inches away from a kiss but Bob’s hands are trembling as the moment is close at hand and it is was also reserved for his late wife.
Phoenix Notices and does her best to be careful.
Phoenix: Bob, we cannot tonight and I understand why. We made progress but I will not push you.
Bob cant speak at first but they carefully pull away while he nods to her.
Bob: Thank you… Thank you so much. May I leave you for a moment to pray?
Phoenix looks at him gently.
Phoenix: Bob, remember what you told me about two or more praying together? Maybe this is another good time for that.
I mean, I do not fully understand your ways but this involves the two of us and even more with your children.
I might not ever feel the same way you do about God But maybe I can try to be supportive as well.
Bob gives her a smile.
Bob: You continue to blow me away Natasha. If this continues, I may not be able to stand.

Phoenix: You're honesty and humility makes me trust and believe in you. Lets take a knee then.
They both kneel while holding hands as Bobs says a heartfelt prayer and then help each other to their feet so sit down on couch while they wait for rooster.
They don’t say much because they are emotionally spent but Bob feels like he has to show his gratitude.
Bob: Nix, I know we have just spilled our guts out but I wanted to bestow upon you a gift of gratitude as a little bird may have told me you also enjoy them.
Bobs pulls out the Oreo’s and offers her some.
Nix’s face lights up.
Phoenix: MINE!
She grabs the entire package with speed and some playful aggression as Bob is laughing at her while she stuffs a few in her face and starts chewing them like she hasn’t eaten in days and crumbs are spilling all over.
Phoenix: What?
Bob: So were still cool then?
She keeps chewing while giving him a happy face .
Phoenix: Supercool!
She takes Bobs arm to wrap it around her side while putting her head into his own.

I TOLD YOU SO!
The two look over to see Rooster smirking in the doorway.
Phoenix: Told him what!?

Bob: The Oreos… and that I needed to come clean.
Phoenix: he told me that I NEEDED TOO! YOU LITTLE SHIT ROO!.
Rooster: So it Worked then?
Bob: The writing’s on the wall but its not set in stone.
Phoenix nods.
Phoenix: well, since you decide you need to play match maker, let us fill you in where we stand… DOUCHE CANOE!
Rooster chuckles and sits down as they talk him through it.
The three had very intention of watchin the movie but they fell asleep while Bob and Nix held hands while sleeping on different couches but they would just smirk at each other and giggle until Bob Passed out.
Nix also fell asleep soon after but Bob woke up early to get breakfast for the three of them, but before he left, He wrote Nix a letter with words of gratitude and affirmation.

As Nix wakes up, she sees the letter in an Envelope wit hher name on it.
She opens it and it reads.
:Natasha, Thank you so much for everything you have done with me as Teammates and Aviators, as friends, and also for whatever may be ahead.
I know we are moving fast by even considering this, But I am grateful for your wisdom and willingness to be careful.
If we ever are more together, I am not looking for someone just to hold in the night but I am looking for someone I can also share my life with and would be excited to join you on your life adventures together as well.
If this isn’t a fit, I will make every effort to still treat you like the wonderful woman that you are and still have your back no matter what just as we do when we fly together.
Last night’s dances and talk helped me confirm that I can start over again. I feel no guilt for dancing with you anymore but I ask you to understand I wish to refrain from anything else tempting until we notify Calvin and Shelley for their approval.
Even if we cannot move forward, know that you have helped me move on and to heal.
I am getting us all breakfast and will l see you very soon.

Nix smiles as she folds up the letter and puts it in her flight suit but Rooster wakes up to see her looking very happy.
Rooster: The hell? You are not a morning person Nix.
Phoenix: Well I am today.

Rooster: Did you guys do the ADULT THING while I was sleeping?

Phoenix: NO! Geez! Bob is not that kind of guy!
But, HE IS the kind that wrote me a sweet letter this morning.
Rooster: Where is he anyways?

Oh!, I been here the whole time!
Bob walks in with a bag of breakfast food.
Rooster: Creeper.

Phoenix walks up to him with a smile and hugs Bob.
Phoenix: The best kind… Thank you for that sweet note.
Bob: Yes Ma’am , you’re welcome.

*** One on One***
Phoenix and Bob spend the day together all alone after Rooster made plans to join Mav fixing his P-51.
The two are getting ready to fly back to Lemoore so they can pack their things and drive back to Top Gun but they also continue to goof off with more dancing, a morning run, and an arcade out in town where they both get a preview of each others modern dance moves and like what they see.
The story picks up after the three have breakfast and Rooster bids them farewell.
Bob: So our flight back to Lemoore doesn't leave till 5P.M. and I should really go workout… Care to join me?
Phoenix: I gotta go back to suite and get some P.T. gear but that might be fun.
I haven’t ran in a while.. Think you could keep up?
Bob: I might have held some school records in track at school so I think I can.
Phoenix: Whats your longest run ever?
Bob: 18 miles. I was training for a marathon once but I couldn’t make the race because of a last minute deployment.
Phoenix: Really!? We have something else in common then. I ran one once but I want to do it again.. maybe we train for one together?
Bob: I would like that very much! So long as we don’t try to beat each other too badly… I do enjoy your fighting spirit however.
Phoenix: Most guys hate that about me. Speaking of fighting, how did you go through conflict resolution with your wife?
Bob smiled at her.
Bob: We prayed together but we also had a rule in our house that if somebody raised their voice, that person had lost…. But, lost is the wrong word… Its not about winning or losing when you are a couple. Its about supporting each other even if you have to sacrifice something for them to succeed. Love is sacrifice sometimes but when its true, its worth everything else you give up. Carrie gave up her dream of being a Doctor when She had the kids and I was deploying all the time but I remembered that, and took out a loan so she could start her dancing school.
Phoenix: I love all of that! How did her dance studio go?
Bob: Wildly successful. We paid off the loan in two years but I would join her to instruct when I got off work while bringing the kids and we made it a family affair. It was a life lesson for me. Sometimes things don’t go like you hope but they can be better than you imagine.
Carrie was so happy with her business and the kids.
Phoenix: pretty sure you were part of that equation as well.
Bob: Kind words. Thank you.

Phoenix: So when we get into a fight, I will try to not yell at you then OK?
Bob: A good start and I will do the same.

Phoenix and Bob get changed over and go for a run that went well and are now back in the rec room to take down the fort.

Bob: Hey we should play some music for this.
Phoenix: I chose last night, why don’t you put something on… Just no Country or Metal.
Bob: It was nice knowing you Nix.
Phoenix: Bye Felicia!
They smirk at each other.
Bob puts on a 2000’s hip hop play list that’s starts with “Roll Out” by Ludacris and Nix gives him a smile.

Phoenix: And what is a Christian man doing listening to this?
Bob: I have my vices.
Phoenix: I guess so!
They both help each other fold the blankets and put back the couches all while dancing to the music and like what they see.
Phoenix: a white boy that can dance? Now I have seen it all.

Bob: Says the lady who moves flawlessly in her own right.
Phoenix: And I am holding back.
Bob: Me too.
Phoenix: someday but not yet.
Bob: Agreed.

They smirk and finish cleaning up.

Phoenix: we still got 4 hours before the C-130 leaves. How about lunch in town to start?
Bob: Sounds good… Since we have time to kill, How about Dave and Busters? Food and games all under one roof.
Phoenix: I forgot you were a nerd but I may be something of a retro gamer myself from time to time.
I'm in!
Bob Nix finish their food and have a lot of fun on the games with DDR as Nix Beats Bob’s score by only two points, Bob destroys Nix on Big Buck Hunter, but they both had a lot of fun with Street Fighter and a ton of Co-op games.

Phoenix: Bob, we should get back to base and in our uniforms.

Bob: Sure thing. Its been nice hanging out these past few days together and we seem to get along really well even though we are different.
Phoenix: Were not that different really… You just don’t open up to other people until you almost die.
Bob: You and I both kept our relationship professional and it also worked well.
My last pilot really had it in for me.

Phoenix: WHAT!? How is that even Possible? You are remarkably fast with your call outs, great on the weapons systems, the radar, and even a dream with the paperwork and your sharp attention to detail.
Did he have an ego?

Bob: SHE has been trying to get me to sleep with her for years. Everyone knows her reputation for being a home wrecker and she loves taking guys under who are married and then ruining their career.
Phoenix: What’s her name?
Bob: Brianna Benoit call sign “Gambit”.

Phoenix had a shocked face.
Phoenix: Unreal… We were in flight school together. She wasn’t my favorite person if that makes you feel better. But you haven’t been married for 3 years now, how does that affect you now?

Bob: True, But she was my Pilot 5 years ago as well and she kept trying to seduce me and threatened to charge me with sexual harassment if I didn’t take her out on a date.
So I did but I told my Squadron Commander and I also told Carrie… They both trusted me and I hid a voice recorder in my pocket while Carrie disguised herself and kept her distance.
Once I had a confession on tape, I told her she and I were done working together as I held the recorder in my hand smugly But Carrie went all scorched earth on her and broke her nose, two black eyes and knocked her out.
She was the sweetest lady ever but while we always kept things cordial and served each other with enthusiasm, she was a force to be reckoned with if someone messed with me or the kids.
Phoenix: I would have loved to have met her Bobby.

Bob: You both would have.

Phoenix: But how did you end up flying with Gambit again? And did she lose interest after?

Bob: Her Uncle is a Vice Admiral so she gets special treatment and she requested me and got me even though I had orders to Norfolk to stay close to Shelley and Calvin.
She still tried to convince me to go out but I wasn’t having it. Besides, Blondes aren’t my thing.
Nix chuckles.
Phoenix: Well, what is your thing? I'm far away from light skin, red hair, and blue eyes.

Bob: Redheads were always my cup of tea but personality is really what I prioritize.
That said, You have opened my eyes to the world of dark on dark and its also enchanting.

Phoenix: wait till you me in a red cocktail dress.
Bob: Hopefully that’s after you meet my kids and we gain their approval.
Nix gives him a sassy smirk.
Phoenix: Choir boy might need to go to confession if he keeps this up.
Bob looks down as he’s trying not to show his shit eating grin while shaking his head but he then looks her in the eyes gently and puts hand over one of hers.
Bob: I confess to you even I may go wayward from time to time.
I am only human after all.

Phoenix: And I will never wreck you beyond repair.
Lets get packed up and ready to fly.

Bob: Sounds good Nix.

*** Oh What a Night!***

Phoenix and Bob get back to Lemoore and depart to their barracks rooms while running into their squadron mates who mutually invite them for a send off at a local Aviators bar.
Gambit gets word of Bob’s return and rushes to find him at the bar but is none to pleased to hear of his permanent assignment with Nix.
The evening will see a sober Bob Dancing dirty with his new pilot that has had a few and is feeling frisky enough to send a message to Gambit that Bob is hers.
The story Picks up after the two land and Nix drives Bob to his truck in her car.

Phoenix stops her Challenger in front of Bobs older Ram Quad cab.
Bob: This is it alright . Thanks for the ride. I really dig your Hell Cat.
Phoenix: Anytime, but you never struck me as a truck guy. Are you compensating for something?
Bob scoffs.
Bob: Hardly, it fits my lifestyle with fishing, and maintenance work on the dance studio before we sold it.

Phoenix: Valid points… Do you think we could actually fit all of your belongings in your truck instead of a moving truck?
Bob takes a moment to think on that.

Bob: Easily! But I could rent a trailer if nothing else. What about you?
Phoenix: I got some toys here with my surfboards but If the trailer is big enough, we could make it fit. Then we come back on a weekend to get my car… Think about it?

Bob: I think I like it.

Phoenix: Let me know if you get bored, My Squadron is just a few blocks away from yours… Funny how we never bumped into each other before and we were on the same base for a few years.
Bob: Well, I don’t exactly stick out if you remember.

Phoenix: Nah, You stuck out right away to me.

Bob: Good point. I will l see you soon.
Phoenix: Sounds Good.

Phoenix Gets to her Squadrons Office and is immediately greeted by her buddies “Spanky”, “Blister” and her Commander “Lego”

Spanky: Back from ashes! Nix has returned!

Spanky runs up to her buddy and hugs the snot out her which Nix gladly returns while Blister is close behind for a hug as well.

Blister: Glad you’re back girl! Heard some stories about that Mish of yours… Way to Rep the Black Aces!
Nix Hugs Blister who is one of the few guys that she is friendly with but not like the Daggers she just worked with.
Phoenix: It was a trip for sure Kyle. Good to see you!

Lego makes her way to Nix casually with a smile and as they shake hands, she speaks.

Lego: And as I understand, you will be leaving us to stay at Top Gun Now?

Phoenix: I'm afraid so Ma'am. I just came back to start my exit paperwork and start packing with my new Wizzo.
Lego gives her a gentle smile.

Lego: Well you will be missed for sure Nat, Its been a pleasure having another gal around who can really keep with me.

Phoenix gives her a thankful look.
Phoenix: And its been a pleasure flying under your command as well while showing me an example of how to lead and that girls can play here too.
Lego: Let me know when you get your things packed and finish the paperwork and I will personally sign off on it but after that, how about we make our way to “Jetsons” for celebratory send off in your honor. Maybe tell your Wizzo as well so he can Join?
Phoenix: Thank you Ma’am! and he really is incredible.

Phoenix Texts Bob while she packs up her belongings.

Phoenix: Hey Bob, My Squadron is taking me out tonight for a sendoff in about an hour and they want to meet you as well. Any chance you could join me at Jetson’s?

Bob: I would love that! My Squadron also wants to go out tonight and we were just discussing a place to go. How about we join you and your team there?
I wont be drinking of course so I could drive you home if you wish to have some drinks.

Phoenix: It’s a deal! But, do you think you could handle me if I get a bit wild? Don’t want you to think less of me either.

Bob: Never! I see nothing wrong with being merry every once in a while but I will make every effort to get my friends home safely if they need it.
Phoenix: Best teammate ever! Hope you have something nice to wear that you can dance in. That is if you think you can join me… No pressure of course after last nights discussion.
Bob: Last night left me wanting more. I will gladly wear something accordingly.

Pheonix goes back to her closet. While thinking to herself. “Now, where is that red cocktail dress?” might as well see what I can get away with!
Bob puts on some grey slacks, with dress shoes, a white undershirt, a dark Polo and a blue blazer.

Bob Gets to Nix’s Squadron and is met wit the sight of Nix in that red cocktail dress hugging her body looking stunningly beautiful wit h her hair done up.

Bob gets out to meet her.
He takes her hand gently and kisses it.
Bob: Gorgeous in a flight suit and Stunning in a dress! Is their nothing you can’t do Ms. Trace?
Bob: And you clean up well yourself Bob. I hope you are ready for a night of fun.
Bob: Always ready.

As the two make their way to the bar in his truck, Nix Notices Bob starting at her from time to time and knows he really likes what he sees.
Phoenix: Hey Bob?, The road is that way. Is this too much for you to handle?
She points at herself while giving him sassy eyes and dirty smirk.
Bob: Trying to adapt but I will find a way.

She giggles. But she’s not done messing with him yet either.
Phoenix: Lots of room back there! How convenient… Might be just enough space to fool around someday.
Nix Sees Bob gritting his teeth with a smirk and his hands gripping the steering wheel tightly as he tries to keep his eyes on the road.

Bob: Evil temptress. How are we even friends?
Phoenix: Opposites attract, that’s how.
Did I ever tell you about the time I dressed up as Nun for Halloween but made sure I was anything but a good little girl?
Bob lets out a laugh.
Bob: Why am I not surprised… Might have to drag us both to confession if you keep this up.

They get to the bar and are greeted by their friends.

Bob Introduces Nix to his former team with “Bubbles” “Slash”, and his Commander “Chucky” while Nix Introduces him to “Blitser” “Spanky”, And “Lego” with them all getting along very well even if Bob goes back to his more reserved nature.
The teams are having a fun time as they swap stories and all get a sense of friendly companionship.

Phoenix: Bob, You have a great group of guys around you here! I can tell you are well loved.
Bob; its mutual Nix, Lego is really something special is she? Very wise yet extremely confident. Much like you.

Phoenix: I'm gonna miss her alright but… You and I make a good team as well and just think, We Have Mav around for our Commander and he is a straight up legend along with Roo, Pay back, and Fan Boy.
Bob: Halo is also a nice addition as well, We took courses together and always helped each other out as needed.
Phoenix: Of course!, She’s almost as sharp as you up there! I went through Top Gun with her. We Weren't Paired up but she made “Fritz” a challenge to fight with for sure.

Bob: And at least we have a team to keep Bagman in check nowadays.
Nix Chuckles.
Phoenix: That food fight was awesome! But, That got me thinking… We never did get to finish that game of 9-Ball and I see an open table…
She gives him a smile.

BobNix are enjoying their friendly competition with Nix in the lead but Bob is in the middle of a nice catch up when he scratches his shot as he hears a voice from his past that he wishes to forget altogether.

Gambit makes her appearance while voicing her disdain towards Bob and Phoenix for splitting them up but Bob shows his fighting spirit and Nix is not about to bow out either as she voices her own warning order to Gambit.

Gambit: ROBBIE!!
As Bob has a deadpan look on his face while carefully gripping his pool cue tightly, he and Nix Look up too see a Tall Blonde with emerald Green eyes in a black dress with curly blond hair and a look of mischief.
Phoenix Sees Bobs Face as he fakes a polite smile.
Phoenix: be cool Bob, I got you.
Bob: Together Nix, Lets do this together.
Phoenix: Always.
As the three make their way to meet, Bob hugs Brianna as light as possible but she’s really pressing hard on him making him uncomfortable.
Gambit: Well, Good to see you all back in one piece.. Heard you almost died with that bird strike. Never would have happened with me in the cockpit.
Bob: Nah, You would have just blamed me for it and punched out before I ever got a chance to assess the situation.
Gambit: I would Never! Why do you not trust me after all we have been through together?
Phoenix: Oh, I don’t know… Maybe messing with a happily married man has something to do with it?
Gambit gives nix a bitchy look and responds with sarcastic tone.
Gambit: Phoenix, glad to see you made it as well… Barely though just like old times.
Bob: Speaking of old times, Looks like you and I parting ways again. Hope you get a new Wizzo soon enough.
Gambit: Trust me, this is just a small setback, You and I are going to be in the air together again before you know it… and If only you would give me a chance to have you on the ground as well!

My Uncle is well into getting the Orders countered so you can stay here with me. I wouldn’t pack your things after all.
Phoenix: Pretty sure Cyclone is Commander of the entire Pacific Fleet now With Iceman’s passing and he pins his fourth star next month so unless you get an act of Congress, Lt.Floyd is in MY backseat in the air and is My Wingman on the ground.
She looks over to Bob with flirty smile and holds his hand tightly.
Bob smiles back at her with a look of appreciation.

Bob moves in closer to gently kiss Nix’s cheek.

Bob Nods to Slash.
Bob: If you will both excuse me…
He makes his way to Slash for a conversation but Gambit meets Nix in the eyes with a look of cocky resolve.

Gambit: So that’s it, you find yourself a nice boy who couldn’t hope to run with you as you string him along and then you make him your slave?
Phoenix: Look whos talking! Let him go Bri, Bob has been through enough already! Unlike you, I actually care for him and see his heart as something to defend and build back. He is not a notch to carve out, He is they type of man who you build up and keep by your side.

Gambit isn’t about to give up. She joins them on the outskirts of the group while trying to insert herself whenever and however she can.

Bob’s Commander pulls some wingman moves of his own while keeping Gambit out as much as he Can.

Lego: ACKNOWLEDGED! VFA 41: BLACK ACES!
Both squadrons raise a glass to toast their Pilot and Wizzos’ departure as Bob grabs his Kitty cocktail and they al down their drink of choice.

Bob and Phoenix are getting along really well with each others squadron's and everybody is loving them as well but Gambit keeps trying to get Bob away for a dance.
Bob finally bends while choosing a song for them that’s suggestive of her evil ways but Bob also dances with Nix for a series of songs with the first being one of honest joy and commitment but they share a few kisses to try and fight back against the Bandit they have encountered to great effect but they dance to more songs and also really enjoy themselves with the last ones getting very physical yet the two are filled with a feeling of intense passion and decide to end the evening before they take it any further. They already broke their agreement a bit this evening and now they have to take great care to keep from going any further.

Gambit: Hey Bob, How about you and I share a dance this evening?

Phoenix: She can’t match me Bobby. We both know that for sure.

Bob: I have tried to be courteous and respectful with you but you just wish to damage me and my family like you did with “Sudz”, “Flapper”, “Lando” and .. Gosh there’s so many more.

Lego: Your Wizzo is quite the Man Charlie. He is kind and generous but he also knows how to evade trouble with a bit of an edge. I think he and Nat are going to be turning heads even more in the future.
Chucky: Similar to us back in the day. I love them both… They are the future of the Navy and although I’m Going to miss my Squadrons morale compass in Bob, I am happy for them both.

They shake hands with deep respect and a smile.
Lego: That’s Mutual Charles, Nix is going to be one hell of a leader someday.. She already is and Bob is loveable for sure but I see the loyalty in his eyes for Natasha and it makes me proud to have met him.

Bob gets back to Nix’s Side happily but he bows to her and offers her his hand.

Phoenix gets to her feet and bows to him in kind.

He takes Nix arm gently as they get to the dance flor and nods to “Slash” standing by at the juke box as he starts the song “Lady in Red” by- Chris Deburg.
Bob and Phoenix dance slowly yet smoothly with gentle smiles and genuine happiness.
Phoenix: A Nice touch Bobby. You must really like the dress.
Bob: And I really enjoy being close to you, seeing that light in your eyes but if I may, are they showing anger or kindness? I wish not to make you upset with me.
Phoenix: Surely I say, they are eyes of joy and commitment.

“Chucky” makes his way to “Slash” at the jukebox.
Chucky: Holy shit… These two just met and you would think they really are a couple.

Chucky Holds out a fist to his buddy.

Slash smiles and nods.

Bob and Nix Know it and laugh to each other.

Phoenix: OK! Besides, you do have a beat up truck just like in the lyrics so maybe it works?
They both goof off to the song mouthing the words with light sarcasm.
They can be heard laughing hysterically at each other now and Gambit Rolls her eyes at the sights of them having good clean fun together.

Nix Nods with a fire in her eyes.

She keeps up with the song and Bob follows suit as he attempts to incorporate a Tango move into the song by flipping her over his shoulders but she's on to him and matches it to perfection landing on her feet while still holding hands from a distance in the air. Phoenix: NICE PLAY! BOB:NICE READ! They both say together:PERFECTION! The song is in its last few seconds but Nix wants a big finish. Phoenix: Get ready! Bob: For what? Phoenix: to take me in your arms … I'm going up.
She dances a few feet away but runs and jumps while wrapping her legs around his waist and as his hands catch her by the core and she looks down and kisses him that is aggressive while guiding one of his hands to her bottom.

Bob is through the roof at this point and fighting his lust deeply but he's not pulling away.

Bob gets them both checked into a suite where he carefully gets her to the room and starts a bath for her.

Phoenix: I have noting to wear Bob and my dress is covered in puke! What should I do?
Bob Yo u can have my undershirt for tonight and I will get you some clothes tomorrow.

Phoenix: and he literally gives me the shirt off of his back to protect my dignity.

Phoenix Nods at him.
Bob takes off his under shirt and puts it on the bathroom counter and closes the door But as he does, Nix Notices the large tattoo on his chest bearing the name of his late wife in her memory.
Nix gets in the bath and is slowly trying to clean up but she’s Thinking about her Wizzo and all that the has been through.
She has to ask a tough question of him though.

Phoenix now had a long pause and thought deeply.
Phoenix: Maybe your right.
Nix gets out of the bath, dry's off, puts on Bobs shirt and wraps her waist in a towel.
She comes out of the Bathroom to see Bob sitting on the floor.
Phoenix: Help me to bed?
Bob: Of course… Feeling any better?

Phoenix: In more ways than one.
Bob gets to his feet and takes nix’s arm and walks her a bed
While he tucks her in carefully.
Phoenix: Goodnight Kiss?

Bob: You really do like me.
Phoenix: Duh!
Bob goes to gently lean over and kisses her forehead gently.
Bob: We are alone together and I cannot tempt my self any further.
Phoenix: I understand. Thank you for this evening. I had a lovely time.
Bob gently puts a hand on Nix’s face and smiles.
Bob: As did I.
Phoenix: We can talk about this all tomorrow?
Bob: Indeed but know I am not upset and actually happy.
Phoenix; Me too. Goodnight Bob.
Bob: Goodnight Nix.
