3 (Project Sekai Oneshot!)
“Tsukasa, I’m home.” Mafuyu said as she opened the front door and entered the house. She closed the door behind her before walking to the living room and setting down her bag. She expected Tsukasa to come running to her as he normally did when she got home, (He was always home first and was alone without Mafuyu being home 3:) but today he didn’t. Instead, there was no noises. Only the sound of the fan and the birds outside could be heard.
“Tsukasa?” Mafuyu called out, hoping her boyfriend would respond back.
…
No response.
Nothing. Just silence.
Her nerves were starting to get more jittery by the minute. The thought of Tsukasa not answering back sent a wave of fear through her body. She hoped that it wasn’t true. She hoped that she was just overthinking things and that Tsukasa was fine. Perhaps he was just asleep? Yeah. Asleep. Tsukasa was fine.. right? Of course he was, why wouldn’t he be? Nothing bad could’ve happened. …
Right?..
Then, Mafuyu heard a choked sob come from the bathroom. It sounded like Tsukasa.
Mafuyu immediately went to the door of the bathroom and knocked quickly and anxiously.
Tsukasa was crying..
But why? Why was he crying? That was what Mafuyu wanted to know.
Why was Tsukasa crying?
“Tsukasa, are you alright? I can hear you crying.” Mafuyu asked in a soft, gentle, and warm tone of voice.
She could hear as Tsukasa sniffled and got up off the floor.
The door to the bathroom opened as Tsukasa stood there. His face was teary and his eyes were as red as his face.
Mafuyu gently pulled him into a hug and comforted him. “It’s alright. I’m here, okay? You can tell me what’s wrong. Only if you want to, of course.”
Mafuyu was patient with Tsukasa. She would listen to whatever he had to say, no matter what. Even if it meant repeating himself or saying the same thing over again. All she cared about was making Tsukasa feel better. That’s all that mattered.
So, she gave him space and time to collect his thoughts and even walked him to the couch so he could sit down and have a better chance at calming down. in the end, Tsukasa was calm and content once more.
“it.. was just a nightmare. A stupid one at that, ahah.. I’m fine.. it was just.. about you leaving me forever, and me being alone for the rest of my life.. But I’ll be fine now!..” Tsukasa said with a weak smile. Mafuyu could easily see how much pain he was in.
”Your nightmares aren’t stupid, and I would never leave you. Okay? I just want you to know that. Your feelings matter, Tsukasa.” Mafuyu said with a firm, but loving tone.
Tsukasa and Mafuyu stared at eachother in silence for a few seconds, before Tsukasa just nodded and smiled at Mafuyu.
Mafuyu smiled back at him. And, it was a real one. A real smile
He remembered now that Mafuyu would never leave him. Because here she was: comforting him as she sat with him on the couch in the living room while rubbing his back in circular motions.
