~Three Years Later~

Loki glanced around his new apartment as Fennie explored every crevice of their brand new couch. He could hardly believe that just a few years ago, he was walking down the sidewalk with a tracking device implanted in his wrist. He thought about all the events that had led to his release; finding Fennie, locating his missing children, and assisting the Avengers on some missions.

Now, he had his very own home and full access to Stark tower. Not as a prisoner, but as a friend. For the first time in his life, he felt like he belonged somewhere. He didn't feel like he was imposing on anyone by merely existing. And he had two great roommates.

"Where are we going to put this thing?" Bucky muttered, gesturing toward the ridiculous computer system that Stark had built for them. He'd insisted that they have the very best security and state-of-the-art technology at home, but their space was limited.

"And honestly, did he really think we needed all this security?" Bucky laughed.

Loki shrugged. "The security is for Fennie, not us. He loves her, he just won't admit it. We just happen to come as a package deal."

Tony had spent the last three years doing various lab tests on Fennie to see if she exhibited any signs of aging or disease, but every test had shown no change. It was as if her physiology was frozen in time just as Loki's was. The only change he'd noticed at all was that she seemed to become more intelligent over time. It made Loki wonder whether she would eventually be able to communicate with them.

It was a mostly quiet life, one that Bucky had always wanted, and Loki didn't think he deserved. They spent their days training at the tower because there was nothing better to do, and their nights watching television. Loki preferred documentaries while Bucky enjoyed old black-and-white movies. Loki and Fennie frequently fell asleep when it was Bucky's turn to choose the program. Eventually, Bucky managed to convince the pretty girl at Petsmart to watch his favorite shows with him, and Loki decided it might be time to look for someone who enjoyed black cats and documentaries.
