Chapter 148
Third Person’s POV-
“Her and the asset seem close.” Allison said.
“As far as we can tell he only leaves the compound once a week when they both visit the local farmer’s market.” The man said.
“And the Captain?” She asked.
“They’re still going to therapy.” He answered.
“Trouble in paradise.” She said tsking. “Anything else?”
“Not at the moment ma’am.” He answered.
“Hmmm…” Alison said resting her chin on her hand as she looked at a photo of her daughter and the asset. “Tell Winston to stay the course. Any word from our friends in the Mid West?”
“They’ve heard rumors but nothing concrete yet.” He informed her.
“Tell them to keep at it. Calliope will be easier to get to when she’s alone. In the meantime I’m going to need you to get me some things.” She said.
“Yes Ma’am.” He said.
Hayley’s POV-
It was a pretty slow day. Well all days were slow days were slow in retirement but in a good way. After weeks of getting into this routine Clint and I finally slept past seven am. We decided to ditch our usual work out and go hiking. It was a nice day out and it had been a while since we had taken Lucky out for a long walk.
I packed us a picnic before we got in Clint’s truck and drove off. Lucky was over joyed. He stuck his head out of the window and sat on my lap. He really didn’t realize how big he was. As for Clint and me, we did our own version of carpool karaoke. I lived for days like this.
“It’s been a while since we’ve done this.” I said looking up the mountains knowing the view from up there must be amazing.
“You sure you’re up for this?” Clint asked. For a second I thought he was trying to talk me out of it but he was smirking.
“Oh I’m up for it.” I said putting my hair up before we headed out.
“Any plans for this weekend?” Clint asked not so casually.
“Clint.” I said giving him a knowing look. “You know I’m not telling anyone about…”
“I wasn’t asking, just thought since last weekend you went out that this weekend you might have plans.” He said.
“Well I’m completely free.” I said. “Will was thinking of hosting a dinner so we could meet his new guy but he changed his mind. They’re going on their first weekend away together. Some B&B in Vermont.”
“Huh, I never took you away for a weekend.” Clint said.
“But you did take me on a beach vacation for a whole week.” I said. “And Naples for the best pizza ever which was way better.”
“That was good pizza.” Clint said.
“And the Gelato.” I said.
“Still it would be nice to go away for a weekend.” He said.
“But not a bed and breakfast. I went to one once in Scotland with Steve. They had a room filled with those creepy antique dolls, gave me the chills. Also it was freezing cold. That was the last time Steve planned out a night for us.” I said as an after thought as we got to the ridge overlooking the valley between the two.
I was so mesmerized by the view I didn’t notice Clint put away the velvet ring box he had taken out.
“Want to eat here before we go find that waterfall?” He suggested.
“Yeah.” I said smiling.
It was a great day all around and we booked our flight to Italy for the following week so I had that to look forward too.
Lucky was knocked out half an hour into the drive back. The walk and the swim in the lagoon really tired him out. He was asleep in my lap while I held him. Clint said I was spoiling him but I did not care.
“I know it’s not the weekend but can we order in?” Clint asked.
“We’re not ordering in. I prepped a lasagna last night, twenty minutes in the oven and dinner’s ready.” I said.
“You always think of everything.” Clint said leaning over to kiss me. But then lucky started barking and got between us. We heard a motorcycle and we both stepped out of the truck. I was surprised to see Steve.
“Hey Cap.” Clint said.
“Hey Clint. Hey Doll.” He said.
“Hey.” I said surprised to see him. “Good timing.” I said sarcastically.
“Didn’t know you guys were out.” Steve said.
“Just got back. We went hiking.” Clint said.
“Let’s head in, I need some water.” I said heading to the door, mostly just to get away from the awkward standing around. I opened the door and Lucky dashed in heading straight to his water bowl.
“I’m gonna head up and shower.” Clint said kissing me before heading upstairs leaving me along with Steve.
“How’s work?” I asked Steve.
“Busy but not as busy when you delegate.” He said. “Asked Hill to cover me on a field exercise.”
“Finally doing your homework.” I commented. “How’s it feel?”
“Kind of strange but good. Lot more free time” Steve said. “I know I said it before but I am sorry about not showing up or calling.”
“I know.” I said. “But I promised I wasn’t going to lie so I’m going to tell you I’m still mad at you.”
“And I understand why but I want to make it up to you so tomorrow night I want to cook dinner for the two of us.” He said.
“In the compound?” I asked.
“Yes.” Steve said. “What do you say Doll? Will you go out with me?”
“No phones.” I told him.
“No phones.” He promised.
“Or Friday notifying you about any active missions.” I said.
“Hayley I can’t…” he started.
“We’re going to be in the building, if they really need you they can come and get you themselves.” I said not backing down.
“Okay. No phones or Friday. Promise.” Steve said.
“Okay then. What time do you want me to come over?” I asked.
“Is seven okay?” He asked.
“That’s good.” I said taking the lasagna out of the fridge and popping it into the preheated oven. “You’re staying for dinner.”
“No I should…” He started.
“I wasn’t asking.” I said staring him down.
“I do like lasagna.” Steve said sitting down.
Third Person’s POV-
Steve watched Hayley and Clint work around the kitchen. It felt almost as if he wasn’t there. The two of them had their inside jokes. They would just casually touch each other as they walked by each other, or when they were sitting down for dinner they’d end up holding hands without realizing. They didn’t even talk in complete sentences. Or they would just stare at each other.
Even now as he watched them clean up, how they could anticipate each other’s movements, move around each other. A gentle brush of their fingers against each others, Clint putting a hand on Hayley’s back or hip as he moved past her, how Hayley would smile at him when he did.
“Steve?” Hayley called out snapping him out of his daze.
“Uh sorry what?” he said.
“You okay?” She asked.
“Yeah just thinking.” He said.
“Was asking if you wanted another beer?” She said. “But I think maybe a coffee might be better.”
“I think I’m just going to head out.” Steve said.
“You sure? Clint was just about to pop in Mario Kart on the Wii.” She said.
“Yeah I have some work to finish.” He said.
“It’s kind of late.” Hayley said. “You should take the night off. Relax a bit.”
“I’d rather do it now.” Steve said grabbing his jacket.
“You sure you’re okay?” Hayley said concerned gently putting a hand on his forearm. “If you want to talk…”
“I’m okay, really.” Steve said putting on his jacket to put some space between them. “I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“Course.” Hayley said. Steve moved in for a hug but at the last minute changed his mind and awkwardly moved put his arms down and left.
Hayley just stood there watching him leave confused about what happened. Clint popped up behind her a second later and wrapped his arms around her. Steve looked back and watched them look at each other adoringly, Like the world began and ended with the two of them.
He drove back to the compound lost in his thoughts. Natasha and Sam were in the common room waiting for him.
“Hey how’d it go?” Sam asked.
“Fine.” Steve said.
“You were gone a while.” Natasha said noticing he was acting weird.
“Hayley invited me to dinner.” Steve said. “Need to make something else instead of lasagna for tomorrow.”
“Sounds like it went well.” Sam said noticing the same thing as Natasha.
“It did.” He said.
“Then why do you have that face?” Natasha said.
“It’s nothing just thinking.” Steve said.
“Did you talk to Hayley?” Sam asked.
“Didn’t get a chance to.” Steve said.
“You were there for dinner.” Natasha deadpanned.
“It wasn’t the right time.” He said. “Clint and Hayley were… being Clint and Hayley.”
Sam and Nat just stared at him.
“Steve you can’t keep putting this off.” Sam said.
“And you can’t keep avoiding Hayley.” Natasha said.
“I’m not.” Steve said.
“You stood her up on your date.” She retorted.
“The mission…” He started.
“Was handled.” She said again.
“Just stop talking about how you’re going to talk to her and just talk.” Sam said.
“It’s not that easy.” Steve said.
“Bucky almost killed Hayley when he was brainwashed and she’s the only person he does talk to. She’s not hard to talk to.” Natasha said.
“She checks in on you all the time.” Sam said. “There’s so many openings man you just have to talk.”
“I will.” Steve said. “Tomorrow.”
Hayley’s POV-
I had this feeling I couldn’t shake. I just felt weird. The morning just flew by. I skyped Will who was having a slow day at work. He wanted advice on outfits for his date and date ideas. I barely listened to what he was saying. I kept thinking about Steve.
“Hales?” Will said. “What’s up with you?”
“Nothing just…thinking.” I said.
“Steve or… who am I kidding, what did he do?” He asked.
“It’s nothing, probably just overthinking it. We’re having dinner tonight.” I said shrugging it off.
“You’re worried he’s going to stand you up again.” Will said.
“Well I wasn’t but I am now.” I said. “Honestly I just don’t know what’s going on. Am I hard to talk to?”
“Talking to you has never been an issue.” Will said. “Getting you to talk used to be a problem but it’s not anymore.”
“So it’s not me…” I muttered.
“You two are finally going to be alone.” Will said.
“At the compound.” I said.
“So not exactly alone…” Will said.
“He didn’t want to be too far in case something came up.” I said.
“Is therapy helping?” he asked.
“Well we’re not fighting so that’s a win.” I said.
“You know what could really get him talking?” Will started.
“Sex doesn’t solve everything Will.” I said.
“Pillow talk.” He said.
“Not going there.” I said.
“Well I should get back to pretending I’m working or heading home to do laundry.” Will said. “We should get together for brunch next weekend.”
“Can’t, we’re going to Italy.” I said.
“Right the honeymoon.” Will said.
“Not a honeymoon.” I said.
“Oh shit I knew it you’re eloping.” Will said.
“No one is getting married.” I said as Clint walked in.
“You better not get married without me there as your man of honor.” He said.
“I know. I’ll talk to you later. Love you.” I said.
“It’s still weird to hear you say that.” Will said. “Love you.”
With that he hung up.
“So I guess we’re not eloping?” Clint asked with grin.
“Are you kidding? If I take away Will’s chance to be a man of honor or plan my bachelorette party he will never let me live it down. And you think Nat’s going to be any better?” I said.
“Yeah… She does watch a lot of those wedding planning reality shows.” Clint said.
“They’re a guilty pleasure.” I said making Clint chuckle. “What? Bridezillas are hilarious.”
“And terrifying.” He said.
“Mostly stressed. Lucky for you you’re never going to have to worry about that.” I said.
“I’m not?” Clint said frowning.
“Nope.” I said smiling before kissing his cheek. “I was just about to make lunch? BLTs sound good?”
“Sounds great.” He said kissing me but feeling oddly tense.
The rest of the day was pretty light. We finished out chores, Lucky was snoozing on the couch next to us while we watched some movie. I dozed off for a while until Clint woke me up.
“Mh what time is it?” I mumbled not moving from where I was cuddled against him.
“Almost time for your date.” He said.
“Ten more minutes.” I said.
“Don’t you have to get ready?” He asked.
“I’m fine.” I said. Ten minutes turned to fifteen minutes then twenty… I got up when Clint did. He and the other guys were going to a bar in town.
I went upstairs and changed my leggings for my favorite pair of ripped jeans. They were really old and had a few paint stains from while I helped Clint paint the porch and we messed around. I decided to keep my grey knit hoodie on and left my hair down.
I checked the time and realized it was already seven so I sent Steve a message letting him know I was going to be a bit late. I had a bit of a bedhead going on so I ran my fingers through my hair before slipping on my back converse.
“Hales I’m heading out.” Clint called from downstairs.
“Me too.” I said coming down.
How is it that Clint could wear something as simple as a black tee shirt and a leather jacket and he just looked so hot…
“You look comfy…” He said.
“Yeah, figured if I get stood up again, at least I won’t get blisters this time.” I said he chuckled as he shook his head before putting an arm around me. We locked up the house and Clint walked me to my car. “Don’t get into too much trouble.”
“Me? How would I get into trouble?” Clint said and I arched an eyebrow. He bent down to kiss me as I put my arms around his neck. I felt his hands slowly move up from my hips to under my sweater. Clint moved closer pressing me against the car before lifting me up onto the hood. I spread my legs and wrapped them around Clint’s legs pulling him closer. Slowly he started kissing along my jaw and down to my neck as I felt one of his hands cup my right breast.
“Ah…” I moaned as I felt him start to squeeze my nipple between his two fingers. Clint kept kissing my neck and playing with my nipples, alternating between the left and right one. I pressed against him rocking against his groin.
“Mh… Don’t tease.” Clint groaned.
“Wasn’t teasing.” I said undoing his belt and slipping my hand under to feel him.
“Ah fuck…” He said gripping me a little tighter as things started heating up but that was exactly when his phone started ringing. “Shit, It’s Nat.”
“Fuck I’m late.” I told Clint.
“Mhmmm.” Clint groaned into my neck.
“Raincheck?” I asked him.
“Is it bad I kind of want you to get stood up again?” Clint said and I laughed taking my hand out of his pants and redoing his belt.
“Later.” I told him kissing him again.
“Hales…” He whined.
“Sorry.” I said letting go of him but he kissed me again.
“Later.” He promised helping me get on my feet. He opened the door of my car for me and closed it before he got in his truck and we headed out.
I got to the compound twenty minutes late. I rushed into the common room and saw Steve in the kitchen dressed in slacks and a dark blue button up dress shirt.
“Hi sorry I’m late. Took an afternoon nap and was out for longer than I thought.” I told Steve.
“I got your message.” Steve said giving me a small smile though it faltered a bit as he eyed me up and down.
“It smells good in here.” I said.
“I made a pot roast.” He said.
“Yum.” I said. “Need help with anything?”
“It’s all done just take a seat.” Steve said pulling out a chair for me. “Can I get you anything to drink? Wine, Beer…”
“I’ll just have water.” I said and Steve poured me a glass. “Wow, surprised you had time to cook with how busy you’ve been.”
“We have a crockpot thing…” He said. “Made it easier. Well you want to…”
“Oh yeah, I’m starving.” I said serving myself a good amount of salad and some of the pot roast.
“So you went hiking yesterday?” Steve started.
“Yeah up by Black Mountain. Great view. I told you about it yesterday.” I said.
“Right.” He said it was probably one of the many things he may have zoned out of during their talk. “Maybe we should go out one of these days. I heard Bull Ridge is a good trail.”
“That’d be fun.” I said.
“I’m busy next week but two weeks from now I’m free.” Steve offered.
“I’m not.” I said awkwardly. “I was going to bring it up in therapy, Clint and I are going to Italy for a week or so. Finally travel to see the sights not work or chasing assassins.”
“Oh, That sounds nice.” Steve said.
“Yeah, we’re renting a Villa outside of Florence. Take a day trip to Venice, Pisa, definitely Napes birthplace of Pizza.” I said. “It’s going to be great.”
“Are you sure now’s the right time?” Steve asked.
“Well the weather’s nice, the villa was free, neither of us has work and we can move therapy or I can Skype in, did that a few times when I was in London.” I said.
“And your Mom?” Steve said.
“Dragon lady is not my problem anymore.” I said.
“Is it really that easy for you to just walk away?” Steve said.
“I’m not walking away from anything.” I said. “It’s not my fight. She disappeared and stayed away for years. I was nothing to her before and now she’s nothing to me. It’s that simple.”
“She came back…” Steve started.
“Steve, you’re making it a lot more complicated than it really is.” I said. “And I don’t want to fight.”
“Neither do I.” He said. “I just… I don’t know.”
“Want to tell me what’s wrong?” I asked. “Please.”
“I…” he started when his phone started ringing.
If he answers that call I am going to…
He surprised me by shutting it off and putting his phone aside. Wow we might actually be getting somewhere.
“Hayley ever since…” He started but his phone started ringing again and again he shut it down.
“Since you woke up from the coma and even before then…” Steve started.
“Captain Rogers…” Friday started.
“Mute.” We both said.
“We’ve been through a lot and we don’t always agree on what the right thing…” he started.
“Steve we need you…” Maria Hill said running in.
“Fucking Hell.” I cursed.
“Yeah I just…” Steve said.
“It’s urgent…” She insisted.
“Hayley…” He started.
“It’s fine, just go.” I said.
“I’m sorry.” He said.
“It’s okay.” I said trying to hide how annoyed I was. “They need you.”
“I’ll make it up to you.” He said about to go for a hug but changed his mind at the last minute and just patted my shoulder. With that they were gone.
I looked at the dishes in front of me. I wasn’t hungry anymore so I put everything away. I rinsed the dishes and started the dishwasher. I looked around when that was done and had nothing left to do. I could go meet up with Clint and everyone else but maybe he needed some alone time. We could finish what we started later.
“Hey Friday is Bucky here?” I asked.
“Yes Ma’am Sergeant Barnes is in the shooting range.” Friday answered.
“Well that’s new.” I said as I headed over.
Sure enough Bucky was shooting rounds at a target… well all the targets. He kept changing guns and did not slow down. And when he was out of ammo he took them apart and put them back together.
“Wow.” I said.
“Hey.” He said. “I thought you were having dinner with Steve.”
“He got called in. At least he showed up this time.” I said walking over and looking at the guns he had laying around. He seemed to get more tense the closer I got. “Mind if I…”
“Uh… You know how to…” He started but I picked up the 9mm loaded it took the safety off and emptied a clip I into one of the targets before he could finish.
“I hate guns.” I said smiling as I put the safety back on and placed the gun back on the table in the spot I had picked it up from. “But that was kind of relaxing.”
Bucky didn’t say anything but I noticed that while I was firing off rounds Bucky had taken a few steps back and he looked very uncomfortable. His hands were shaking at his sides and he was breathing heavily.
“No…” I thought I heard him mumble.
“Bucky?” I said trying to get his attention but still nothing I slowly took a step forward keeping my hands where he could see them. “Are you okay?”
I was two steps away from him and he took another one back.
“No… no.” He said slightly louder.
“Bucky.” I said touching his hand and that made him snap. He grabbed my wrist. “Wah!” I shrieked a bit surprised.
“The Mission…” He said in Russian squeezing my wrist a bit harder. I put my hand on his arm softly moving my fingers on his wrist hoping he’d realize I wasn’t going to hurt him.
“Bucky.” I said before I switched to Russian. “Your name is James Buchannan Barnes, Your birthday’s March 10th, 1917. You grew up in Brooklyn, it’s where you met Steve…”
He didn’t let go of my wrist but he loosened his grip. I kept my hand on his arm gently moving my fingers trying to help him calm down.
“You were a soldier…” I continued.
“The fist of Hydra... Winter Soldier.” He said and I felt his fingers flexing.
“No.” I said moving my hand up to his cheek. “That’s not you, You’re not Hydra. You’re Bucky Barnes. This isn’t Hydra. You’re safe and home, with your friends.” I said gently tucking a lock of his hair behind his ear.
“Hayley.” He said immediately snapping out of it and letting go of my wrist and moving away from me until his back hit the wall.
“Bucky.” I started as I came closer.
“No!” He said. “Don’t.”
“Hey it’s okay.” I said.
“I hurt you, what part of that is okay?!” He shouted.
“Bucky.” I said getting closer as he fell to sit on the ground. I kneeled down in front of him. His breathing was heavier than before and I knew what was coming next. “Bucky hey I need you to look up at me please.”
But he wouldn’t budge.
I gently put my hands on his where he was gripping his knees tight and gently pried them off and held them.
“Okay Buddy if you don’t want to talk that’s fine but I need you to listen to me. I need you to take a deep breath with me Okay? Deep breath in.” I said taking a breath and waiting for him to do the same. I heard him take a few shaky breaths but then I heard him take one big one. “We’re going to hold it… five, four.. three two one and out…”
He was shaking so we did it a few more times.
“Do you know where we are?” I asked and he didn’t say anything but I saw his head move in what looked like a nod. “Where are we?”
“C-compound, the range.” He said.
“It has a pretty great view right?” I asked and he nodded again. “The Trees, the sun setting on the lake… burnt orange sky with pink and purples thrown in. He let out a shaky breath and lifted his head up and leaned it against the wall with his eyes closed.
“Bucky? Can you open your eyes for me?” I asked. He didn’t say anything just stayed there completely still focusing on his breathing. He took a few more deep breaths before he finally opened his eyes. I gave him a small smile as I gently rubbed his knuckles with my thumbs. Bucky looked away but just stared at his hands. “You want to talk about it?”
He didn’t answer instead he got up and walked out of the room.
“Bucky?” I called out after him but he didn’t turn around. I took a minute and decided that maybe what he needed right now was space. So I picked up the guns he had used and put them back in their place. “Friday where’s Bucky?”
“He’s in his room.” Friday said.
“Is he stable?” I asked.
“For the moment but he is clearly upset.” She said.
“I got that.” I said going to the common room. After I picked up a peace offering or a bribe… whatever got him to open the door and went to knock on his door.
“Bucky can you open the door?” I asked but got no answer. “If you don’t want to talk about it it’s fine but I’m not leaving until I know you’re okay. I have a pint of Ben and Jerry’s so you know I’m not going anywhere.”
I sat down on the ground with my back against the door not knowing that Bucky was on the other side sitting exactly the same way.
I took a spoonful of Ben and Jerry’s and slowly started to savor the gobs of cookie dough and brownies.
“You know I used to get panic attacks too.” I said. “Before the coma pretty bad ones too. Had to take medicine for them which kinda made me feel worse. I was tired all the time. Nauseous. Never got hungry. Lost a ton of weight. Didn’t really make them go away though. I remember once I was had a really busy week with school and work and I got a really bad one out of know where. It was just me and Bruce in the lab he’s the one that taught me that breathing technique. Didn’t really work for him for obvious reasons but did for me. Always knew how to keep me grounded. I miss him. I know he’s okay though. It’s this weird feeling I get from his mark sometimes. It’s not the usual calm I normally get from him and it’s not as strong as before but just enough to know he’s okay wherever he is, And I doubt Hulk is going to let anything happen to him.”
“I get feelings from you too sometimes.” I said. “Not really strong but enough to know you’re on the other end of the line. Probably should have put that together sooner… Sorry.”
I didn’t really get anything out of him from that so I kept talking. Man I talked a lot.
“So I’ve had nightmares all the time since I was a kid. Not always the same but always the same cause… I remember I had one so bad I woke up right into a panic attack. So freaked out I flinched at ever subtle move anyone made and Thor was right next to me but I just couldn’t stand anyone being close to me. Oh and there was the time where Hadrian sent me my fake ID guy’s severed arm, Uh…” I said before I heard movement and the door opened.
I turned and saw Bucky standing there just staring at me. I offered him the remaining half pint of ice cream. He looked at it then at me before he took it and sat down on the floor next to me. I stayed quiet watching as he slowly took a bit of ice cream. I waited for him to finish and put the spoon down. He looked at my arm and slowly reached over to pull up my sweater sleeve.
“You didn’t grip me too hard. Just surprised me.” I said. I was downplaying it. He did grip me hard, it was a bit sore but not broken. I hoped it didn’t bruise, that would be a fun conversation to have with everyone.
Bucky obviously didn’t believe me.
“Has that happened before?” I asked him. “The Russian…”
“Sometimes when I wake up from nightmares in the middle of the night.” He said. “Never like that.”
“Think something might have triggered it?” I asked.
“I’m not sure.” He said looking tired. “You got lucky.”
“You wouldn’t have hurt me.” I said. Bucky stared at me, feeling guilty and ashamed. “You listened and understood what I told you. You stopped.” I reached over going to put my hand over his but decided I shouldn’t surprise him so I softly touched the back of his hand with my finger tips and let him decide if he wanted me to hold his hand or not. He looked at it for a second slowly turning his hand over and letting me put my hand on his.
“Promise me something.” He said.
“Anything.” I said.
“If it happens again don’t try to help me, stay away from me.” Bucky said.
“Bucky…” I said trying to argue.
“The last time Steve tried to calm me down from a nightmare, I pushed him through a wall.” Bucky said. “He can take a hit, you can’t.”
“Okay.” I said linking my fingers with his giving his hand a reassuring squeeze.
He nodded and just looked at our linked hands, very deep in thought.
“I think I’m going to call it a night.” Bucky said letting go and standing up.
“Uh You sure? I can stick around and we can watch a movie or something?” I offered.
“I’m okay Doll. Thanks.” Bucky said giving me a strained smile before walking back to his room and closing the door behind him. I sat there for a minute before getting up. I left my phone in the kitchen. I had a missed call from Clint and a text asking me if I was heading home since the date was cut short.
On my way back
Friday could monitor Bucky and either way he seemed a bit more calm. So I got in the car and headed home.
The Next Morning…
I woke up face down in bed with Clint laying halfway on top of me. He was kissing up along my spine.
“Mhmmm.” I moaned.
“Morning.” Clint said as he moved onto his side off of me so I could move onto my back. I surprised Clint by putting my arms around him and pulling him with me taking him by surprise so he faceplanted onto my chest.
“Ow!” I yelped.
“Ah!” Clint groaned before laughing.
“Sorry, I haven’t had coffee yet.” I said.
“Yeah.” He said moving up a bit and kissing me. I put a hand on the back of his neck and played with his hair a bit.
Clint’s hand moved down my side and slowly lifted my leg over his hip before he grinded his hips against my core.
“Ah!” I moaned. I felt him smile against my neck as he kissed along my jaw. He kept moving his hips slowly teasing me.
I reached down and held him in my hand making him gasp. I smirked at him and slowly started stroking him. I pressed him against him as I rocked my hips.
“Tease.” Clint said before I pressed against his tip and he moaned loudly.
“You started it.” I said doing it again but this time Clint thrust forward and slipped halfway into me taking me my surprise. “Ah!!!
“Shit.” He said before I started laughing. “Hales…” he groaned against my ear before he thrust the rest of the way in making me gasp as he hit the right spot.
“Mhmmm.” Clint moaned before he kissed behind my ear and started moving.
“Ah…” I moaned in pleasure.
We had sex the night before. We picked up right where we left off before we left last night. Went at it multiple times on the car… on the couch… went upstairs and did it some more but it was rushed. That’s not to say it wasn’t amazing. It always was but this was something else. More intense. Slow. Drawn out.
It gave me a chance to notice things. Like with the sun pouring into the room Clint’s dark blonde hair looked a lot lighter. I think I noticed a grey hair somewhere. His grey eyes looking down on me. The stubble starting to come in on his cheeks. The way his eyes lit up when I smiled at him.
Wonder if our kids will get his eyes…
“What’s so funny?” Clint asked.
“Nothing… just enjoying the view.” I said kissing him as I moved my legs up a bit and urged him forward. He smiled and kept kissing me as he sped up a bit.
“Fuck Hales…” He said as he starting moving a bit faster.
“Uh Clint… Love you.” I moaned.
“Hales…” He said kissing me passionately as he held me close as we finished together. We stayed like that for a few minutes, just holding each other in the aftermath.
“Let’s…” Clint started before the bedroom door opened and Nat walked in.
“Oh good you’re up.” She said.
“Nat!” I jumped a bit surprised making Clint grunt in pain.
“AH!!!” He yelped.
“Shit sorry. Sorry” I said kissing Clint’s shoulder as I hugged him. He groaned slowly pulling out of me. Nat sat down at the edge of the bed while Clint and I sat up.
“What’s up Nat?” Clint said feeling a bit sore.
“I’m taking Hayley away for the weekend.” She said with a smirk.
“You are?” I said smiling.
“I planned a weekend for us in the city. Will’s away so the apartment’s all ours.” She said.
“Nat.” I said genuinely touched at her thoughtfulness. Probably a lot more than Clint was. I crawled over to her and kissed her. She threaded her fingers through my hair as she kissed me back. “Going to need a shower first.”
“I’ll go make coffee and breakfast.” She said.
“You’re the best.” Clint said as he got up dropping the bed sheets leaving him completely naked not caring Nat was in the room. After years of working together and many times we fell asleep together they were used to each other.
“I need one too.” I said. “Be down in a bit.”
I gave her another kiss before going to join Clint. We took a quick shower and got dressed.
Nat had let Lucky out to do his business. I kind of forgot how much of a rush we were in last night that I forgot we left a trail of our clothes all over the living room.
“Just the way you like it.” Nat said putting my mug in front of me and then putting the rest of the pot in front of Clint. She knew us well.
We munched on the healthy breakfast Natasha had made for us though Clint did make a comment about missing bacon.
I was just about to start cleaning up when my phone started ringing. I picked it up without checking who it was.
“Hello.” I said.
“Calliope.” Dragon lady greeted. I took the phone and hung up.
Not five seconds later it rang again but I just let it ring.
“You’re not going to get that?” Clint said looking concerned.
“Nope… wait…” I said picking up. “In case that wasn’t clear, fuck off.” With that I hung up and then turned off my phone.
“Dragon Lady?” Natasha asked.
“Dragon Lady.” I confirmed opening my phone and taking out the sim card. “Going to need to stop by and get a new number.”
“A new phone while you’re at it.” Clint said.
“Don’t need one, It has a scrambler integrated into it.” I said. “I’m going to pack a bag so we can get going.”
Third Person’s POV-
Clint and Natasha waiting until they heard the bedroom door open upstairs before talking.
“Think we should be concerned?” Clint asked.
“It’s been weeks since she made a move.” Natasha said. “A phone call isn’t much to go on. She knows where you live so there’s no point in her trying to trace the call.”
“But we don’t know where she is.” Clint said.
“I’ve tried looking into it but… there’s nothing to go on. She disappeared seven years ago and that’s where the trail ends.” Natasha said. “And the only person that can probably find her…”
“Yeah…” Clint said before he thought of something. “She may not be the only person… I can make a call.”
“You’re retired.” Natasha reminded him.
“It’s a call. I’m not taking my bow out of the armory.” He said. “Just keep an eye on her.”
“I always do.” She said.
Elsewhere…
Allison took the card and dialed the number her assistant had acquired for her.
On the third ring…
“Hello?” She answered.
“Calliope.” Allison said and immediate the call cut off. She sighed in annoyance. “Stubborn as always.”
She dialed again and waited. For a second she thought she wasn’t going to pick up but she did.
“In case that wasn’t clear, fuck off.” She said before hanging up again.
“You didn’t leave me another choice Calliope. You brought this on yourself.” She said picking up a file.
Hayley’s POV-
After leaving the house we drove into the city and made a not so quick stop at the phone store to change my number. From there we headed to Will’s apartment to drop off our things.
“So what’s the plan?” I asked Nat as I walked into Will’s kitchen. “I can cook us dinner but we’re probably going to need to make a grocery run… Will basically lives of off brand frozen meals. Actually I should stock his fridge before we leave.”
“We’re having a spa day.” Natasha said. “Facials. Body scrubs, mani, pedis and a couple’s massage.”
“Ooooh.” I said. “Full day of pampering.”
“And I got us dinner reservations.” She said. “It’s been a while since we’ve had sushi.”
“You’re going all out aren’t you?” I said.
“We need girl time.” She said with a smirk.
“That we do.” I said smiling at her. “Quick shower and then we can head to the spa.”
“Sounds good.” Nat said as I walked out of the kitchen.
“Hey Nat?” I called over my shoulder “Want to save some water?”
About an Hour Later…
“Ah!!!” Natasha moaned out finally falling back into the bed as I moved besides her. “How are you still… after…”
“I have a lot of energy.” I said smiling.
“Should have done this sooner.” She said.
“Well we’re here now.” I said. “Have a whole weekend.”
“Don’t feel like going to the spa anymore.” Natasha said.
“But you planned everything out.” I said. “And you’re looking forward to the seaweed wrap… the mani pedis… the deep tissue massage.”
“Mhmmm.” She moaned.
“We still have all of tomorrow.” I said kissing her. “And later…” Moving to her neck. “Before dinner.” I said moving to her collarbone. “Right before dinner…” I said moving one of my hands to her breasts while I sucked on the nipple on the other breast and gently caressed up her thigh.
“Ah… Hayley.” Natasha gasped arching her back.
I let go of her nipple with a pop and kissed up ger neck to her lips.
“After dinner.” I said getting off of her.
“Uh!” She groaned. “Tease.”
“I though you were tired?” I said with a smirk.
“I’m going to remember this later.” She threatened playfully as she sat up and kissed me before getting up.
Sure enough we got to the spa and went straight to getting pampered. Seaweed wrap… mani pedis, couples massages… I’m pretty sure I fell asleep at some point.
We headed back to the apartment and got dressed for dinner. Apparently Natasha had Friday somehow get us a reservation at the best sushi place in the city, the type of place that had a wait list that was a year long and even then it wasn’t a sure thing you could get in.
I picked out a navy blue strapless dress with a chiffon textured midi dress and dark navy heels. I put my hair up in a messy bun and slipped on a pair of gold drop earrings.
“Okay Nat I’m ready when you are.” I said coming out of the bedroom.
“Ready… wow.” She said.
“Wow.” I said looking at how amazing she looked in a black asymmetrical wrap dress with gold and lace embellishments on the neckline.
“You look…” We both said at the same time.
My soulmate is gorgeous. I don’t think that was enough to describe Nat but I think my brain was just too busy memorize how incredible she looked.
“Stop giving me bedroom eyes or we’re not going to make it to dinner.” Natasha said with a smirk.
“I think I’d be okay with that.” I said.
“Later.” She whispered into my ear before kissing my cheek and leading me out.
So we went to dinner. Nat brought her car and if I though Clint had a lead foot... well compared to Natasha his foot was as light as a feather.
We were taken right into the restaurant in a seat I was sure Natasha had made sure to call ahead and reserved because she had a clear view off the entire room, she could see the entrance and close enough to the kitchen we could sneak off if we needed to. We talked about everything and anything that we could think of just laughing losing track of time before we knew it, it was time for the last course… dessert. We both ended up ordering mochi ice cream.
“Mhm…” I said taking a bit.
“These matcha tea cakes are so good.” Natasha said.
“Really try the green tea mochi.” I said taking a mochi ball and offering it to Natasha. It was finger food so when Natasha took ate right out of fingers and she teased my fingers with her tongue it didn’t affect me at all. Except it did.
And she noticed so when her hand slowly started moving up my knee I had to squeeze my thighs together.
“It’s good but not as good as you.” She whispered into my ear making me blush.
“This is payback for earlier isn’t it?” I asked as her hand moved higher making me let out a low moan.
“Maybe.” She said putting her hand at the apex of my thighs and gently cupping her hand making me let out a shuddering breath before she quickly moved her hand and gave me a smirk.
Yeah she was totally getting back at me for earlier.
“Everything to your liking?” Our waiter asked.
“Perfect.” I said with a blush.
“Can we get the check please?” Natasha said completely unfazed by what she had just done.
“Actually ma’am your check has already been taken care of courtesy of Mister Stark.” He said.
“Of course he did.” Natasha said with a smirk.
“Thank you.” I said. “So shall we?”
“Why are you in a rush?” She said smiling and I just gave her a look. Nat got up and I followed after her. The car was with the valet so we didn’t have to walk far. We got in and she drove. Of course she chose now to start following all traffic laws.
“It’s faster if you go left.” I said.
“I like going this way though.” Natasha said.
“Nat…” I whined.
“Something wrong Krasivaya?” She said.
“Tease.” I said and she started going slower. Okay she was going to play this game. She’s on. I slowly reached over and gently put a hand on her knee. “Nat…I’m sorry I made you wait.”
I leaned over and kissed her shoulder tracing small circles on her inner thigh. “That was so mean of me.”
“It was.” She said as her breath hitched a bit but not looking at me and looking straight at the road.
“Can I make it up to you?” I said moving my hand up higher. “Make you feel good baby.”
“Hayley.” She said.
“Should I stop?” I asked tracing the lace patterns of her panties.
“It’s hard to drive.” Natasha said flooring it down the street pushing me back in my seat..
“Guess I have to wait.” I said hanging on for dear life to my seat.
Suffice to say as soon as we found a spot in front of the building that may have been a red or yellow line we all but ran out of the car up the stairs. Nat grabbed my hand and pulled me up the stairs with her I pushed her against the wall kissing her when we got to the right floor she broke the kiss and pulled me with her to the door. She struggled putting in the keys as I hugged her from behind kissing down her neck. She pushed the door open and pulled me in before pushing me against the door kissing me.
“Nat…” I moaned and her hand slipped my dress to grab my ass. My hands were in her hair she spun us around and pushed us back when a thought came to me. “Wait.”
“Again…” Nat whined.
“Sh…” I shushed kissing her neck and playing with her hair the way she liked.
“Ah…” She moaned as I led her back until she was pressed against the dining table. “Really?” She said with a smirk.
“I’ve never…” I said giving her a half smile.
“Naughty.” Natasha said with a smirk.
“Is that a no?” I asked.
“You owe me an orgasm.” She said taking my hand and putting them on her mound.
“Are you going to let me take them off?” I asked as I kissed her neck.
“Not yet. Have to work for that.” She said.
“Then I should get started then.” I said as Nat jumped on the table and pulled me into a kiss. I kept kissing her as I cupped her mound feeling her get wet. I moved my hand up higher and slipped in my hand in slowly tracing her lips slowly spreading the wetness.
“Hayl…Ah!” She gasped as I finally touched her clit. I started with slow circles before taking two fingers and massaging around the nub and moving my fingers lower to her entrance. She was dripping wet. I gently traced the entrance before moving up and rubbing her clit a bit more with a bit more pressure but slowly. Nat rocked her hips wanting more so I moved faster before slipping lower and gently prodding her entrance. I stopped and waited to see if she was okay and when she nodded I kept going. Moving my finger in and out as my palm rubbed against her clit slowly before I added another finger and kept going moving faster and faster. Curling my fingers in and out hitting Natasha’s g-spot.
“Ah yes yes… fuck don’t stop.” Natasha cried out as I hit that spot harder rubbing against it fingers shaking. “AHHH!!!”
I kept going until Nat’s thighs closed around my hand but I kept rubbing her clit with my hand and I felt her gush.
“Fuck!!” She said laying back panting on the table, her labs dangling over the edge. I ran my fingers through her hair as she came down from her high. “How did you…”
“I copied someone.” I said.
“Don’t tell me who.” Natasha said.
“Promise.” I said kissing her as I leaned from where I was standing in between her legs. She sat up and kissed me reaching behind me and unzipping my dress letting it fall to the floor leaving me in my heels, a strapless lace bra and matching lace see through panties.
Natasha muttered something in Russian that I think was something along the lines of “Oh damn”
“You like? I bought it for you?” I said in Russian.
“You’re going to be the death of me.” Natasha said.
“What a way to go though.” I said with a smirk as she jumped off the table while kissing me. Pushing me back as I fumbled with the knot holding her dress together. I fell onto the couch and Natasha straddled my lap.
Okay I totally understood why the guys though this was a turn on when I did it.
I moved my hand up her thighs. Before her dress fell open revealing the sexy see through lace bralette and panties she was wearing.
“You’re amazing.” I said.
“You’ve been such a good girl krasivaya.” Natasha said.
“Just for you, Moya lyubov” I said kissing her chest.
“Mhmmm so good. You deserve a reward.” Nat said getting off my lap and kneeling on the floor as he kissed along my bra slowly kissing her way down my stomach as she started pulling my panties down.
“Ah… Nat…” I moaned as she pulled them down nudging me to sit on the edge of the cushion and spread my legs. She kissed and nipped up my thighs hovering above my core. She looked up and licked her lips before diving in. “Ah!!!”
“Mhm…” Nat hummed as she went to work diving right in. Her plump lips sucking my clit and holding it as her tongue went to town.
“Natasha!... ah…” I moaned as I threw my head back arching my back. Of course at that moment the door had to open.
“Hell… Ah!!!” Will screamed.
“Will!” I shouted at him to get the fuck out.
“What are you doing? We sit there!” Will said.
“Get out!!!” Me and Natasha said throwing a pillow and I think her shoe at him.
“I live here!” Will said.
“Will maybe we should…” A guy said.
“Who’s he?” I said finally grabbing a pillow to cover myself.
“Oh Hi I’m Winn.” He said offering his hand to me before realizing what he had walked in on and being scared off by the glare Natasha was giving them.
“I can’t believe you…” Will started before I threw my wallet at him.
“Get a hotel,” I said.
“Kay.” Will said dragging Winn out with him.
“Nice meeting you…” He called out before Will closed the door.
“Where were…” I started before Natasha pulled the pillow away from me and pushed me back onto the couch. The brief interruption completely forgotten and not stopping until I was just about to cum.
“Nat…” I whined.
“Do you trust me?” She asked.
“You know I do.” I said before she stood up and helped me up leading me back to the room.
“Get on the bed.” Natasha said.
“Uh Okay.” I said getting on and laying down. Nat went to her bag and rummaged around until she pulled out a pair of handcuffs. “Never seen those before.”
“Thought we could try something new.” She said. “If you want.. I know….”
I sat up and pulled her into a kiss. “I trust you.” I said. “How do you want me?”
“Lay back with your hands up.” Nat said and I did as she said. She then handcuffed me to the headboard. “Now where were we…”
It was a long night. I very long and good night. She actually knocked me out at one point. Great weekend all around.
The Following Morning…
I was sitting on the kitchen table while we were…
“Ah!” I moaned falling back on the table panting before I started laughing. “Pretty sure we broke a record of some kind.”
“Is that a bad thing?” Nat teased.
“Not at all.” I said as Will walked in.
“Oh come on!” Will said.
“You really need to start knocking.” Natasha said.
“I need a new table.” He said. “How are you two still going at it?”
“We made breakfast.” I said.
“Oh pancakes.” Will said forgetting all about us and going to the kitchen.
