Chapter 144
The jet had taken off almost as soon as we got to the airfield. Tony had disappeared for a bit and I thought it was to use that restroom but he came back with some snacks, a bottle of Champagne and two glasses.
“Pulling out all the stops aren’t you?” I teased.
“Just because we aren’t in Bali yet doesn’t mean we can’t start relaxing.” He said popping open the bottle and pouring it into the two glasses. I picked one out. “To a very long overdue vacation, let’s not wait so long for the next one.”
“Oh we won’t.” I said clinking my glass with his before taking a sip.
“So I have to ask, what’s going on with you and Capsicle?” Tony said.
“Don’t know what you mean?” I said trying to brush it off.
“I could feel the passive aggressiveness rolling off of you.” He said.
“We’re fine. Besides we’re on vacation. That’s a problem for when we get back.” I said.
“So there is a problem?” Tony said and I gave him a look. “You just said…”
“Okay so you know how Steve’s been hovering lately. Like a lot.” I said.
“You mean how he’s ready to catch you or even take a bullet for you? Yeah.” Tony said.
“Well I finally asked him about it and we kind of got into it. He’s apparently not a fan of retirement.” I said.
“He actually said that?” Tony said.
“He didn’t have to. The way he acts whenever it comes up says it all.” I said.
“There’s more isn’t there?” Tony said.
“Some things were said. Brought up how I killed Hadrian.” I said.
“He didn’t.” Tony said.
“He did and he’s not wrong. I did literally sell him to the Russians.” I said. “And I don’t regret it. It’s not what Steve said it’s how he said it.”
“Uh the ‘I’m the captain I’m always right’ tone.” Tony said.
“No this was the I’m disappointed mixed with disapproval tone.” I said. “And you want to know what the funny thing about this whole situation is? He’s always wanted me out of the fight, he didn’t want me going off on my own and handling things without any help and now that I am doing just that and taking a step back he doesn’t want that.”
“He’s a bit all over the place right now.” Tony said.
“I’d try talking to him but somehow it always makes things worse.” I said.
“And you’re still mad.” He said.
“That too.” I said. “But we’re on vacation and like I said before that’s a problem for when we get back. This is our time.”
“Yes it is.” He said kissing me. I smiled and hugged him and Tony chuckled.
“What’s so funny?” I asked.
“Nothing just… I always thought I’d be the one to screw this up.” Tony said.
“You do remember the part about me running away and ending up in a coma right?” I said.
“Hard to forget.” He said.
“We’re not perfect Tony and we’ve all made mistakes.” I said. “We’ll work through it.”
“Yeah.” He said hugging me. “Any ideas on what we should do first?”
“Mh I have a few ideas.” I said.
“Like?” Tony asked.
“Well there’s a few temples, they have meditation sessions open to tourists. Very relaxing.” I said.
“Sounds… peaceful.” Tony said obviously already bored with the idea.
“Then there’s the animal sanctuary in the forest. Lots of Monkeys that aren’t seen anywhere else in the world.” I said.
“So a zoo?” Tony asked.
“Not really a zoo as much as a temple sanctuary where monkeys roam freely.” I explained.
“That could be fun.” Tony said.
“Then there’s all of the markets,” I said. “but I think we’ll probably spend most of our time on the beach. Need to work on my tan.”
“Well we do have our own private beach…” Tony said.
“Course we do.” I said kissing his cheek before taking my phone out. “But for now… which movie from the past year that I still haven’t watched yet do you recommend?”
“Uhm, I heard this one was good.” Tony said picking Gone Girl and playing it on the screen.
The movie was good… at least the parts I actually paid attention to. I think it was around the time the wife started acting crazy which was probably not that far into the movie Tony started kissing my shoulder Then up to my neck. And then we started kissing as I moved to straddle his lap. His hands moving up my thighs before squeezing my butt making me gasp.
“Hales?” He whispered as I kissed along his jaw.
“Hm?” I hummed.
“Want to join the mile high club?” Tony asked.
“Kind of already a member.” I said bursting his bubble.
“You are?” He said.
“For a few years now.” I answered.
“We never…” He said.
“Nope.” I said. “But I should probably renew my membership…”
At that moment the in flight service came in to bring in our inflight meal. I awkwardly moved off of Tony.
“I’m sorry Mister Stark.” The attendant said.
“It’s fine.” Tony said not even looking at them as they placed the trays of food on the table. While I looked out the window feeling my face heat up.
“Would you like us to make you a drink?” She asked.
“Water’s fine thank you.” Tony said dismissively.
“At your service sir.” She said batting her eyelashes at him. I bit my lip to stop myself from laughing. Once she was gone…
“Wow.” I said.
“What?” He said with a smirk.
“Oh nothing.” I said. “Oh sushi.”
“Are you…” He said.
“Hm?” I hummed as I took a sip of water.
“Jealous?” Tony asked with a smirk.
“Should I be?” I teased before putting the glass down and moving to straddle his lap again and kissing him. “If after everything we’ve been through you can trust my calls when it comes to dealing with psychopaths and hitmen I can trust you to deal with flirty women without having sex with them.”
Tony smiled and kissed me.
“I’m all yours.” He said hugging me as he kissed down my neck and slowly moving my dress strap off my shoulder. Slowly he kissing up my neck, along my jaw before kissing me again. I put my arms around his shoulders and put a hand in his hair. Tony flipped us over so I was on my back on the couch.
“Wah!” I cried out in surprise.
“So monkeys.” Tony said kissing my neck.
“Monkeys.” I said gasping a bit. “Temples.”
“Sounds… fun.” Tony said. “You know what’s also fun?”
“Skinny dipping?” I suggested.
“It’s like you read my mind.” He said.
“Well great minds think alike.” I said. “Or it could be that I just know you that well.”
“Really. Well, I know you better than everyone… except Will and your five other soulmates we’re on almost the same level. I’m slightly higher.” He said.
“Slightly?” I asked.
“Well… It’s us. Since day one… sparks.” He said.
“We were at a strip club…” I answered.
“Anyway…” He said ignoring that comment. “I know that right now you really want to try that salmon roll.”
“The salmon roll?” I said arching an eyebrow. “Are you sure?”
“It’s what you always order when we go out for sushi and the only thing you eat at events.” Tony said.
“You know me well.” I said kissing him before we both sat up and ate our lunch.
Meanwhile in Moscow…
“Will Adams.” Allison said looking at a photo of him.
“Calliope’s closest friend. He actually took her name about three years ago.” Oleg said showing him more photos of the two of them together.
“Not much to him. Calliope always had a habit of befriending strays.” Allison said putting the file aside.
“There’s also them…” Oleg said giving her another file.
“The Mikaelson’s and Marcel.” She said looking at surveillance photos of Rebekah, Kol and her daughter in London and other places in Europe. “He adored Calliope since the first time they met. Even offered everything he had if I left her with them and never returned. Not at all surprising they’d find their way to her again.”
“Well they’re no longer a problem.” Oleg said. “They’ve all retired. Haven’t been spotted in over a year.”
“We both know that’s not true.” She said.
“I don’t know what you…” Oleg started.
“You can stop lying Oleg, I’ve known you long enough to know when you’re trying to pull one over on me and I also know that Calliope turned over Hadrian to your cousin instead of letting him rot in a cell somewhere because she cut a deal with you.” Allison said.
“She is her mother’s daughter.” He confirmed.
“Last time I spoke to my son he somewhere in Kentucky.” She said. “He was tying up loose ends from his time with Delilah. That was where Calliope and your cousin found him. Where’s Demitri?”
Hours Later…
Tony and I managed to sleep through most of the last few hours of the flight, by the time we landed we were ready to get our vacation started.
We took the car that was waiting for us to the beach house Tony had rented out.
“You know this is better than what I had in mind.” I said.
“What were you expecting? A tourist trap?” Tony said.
“I was actually thinking of living like the locals… hammock bed, shack above the water.” I said.
“You’re joking right?” Tony said. “Those shacks don’t have bathrooms, or air conditioning.”
“A nice sea breeze works just as well as any AC and they have out houses.” I said.
“An out house?” He said. “Like a hole in the ground…”
“They have running water.” I retorted. “But you know this is good too.”
“Just good?” Tony said “I can get us a better one…”
I put my arms around him and kissed him.
“Honey, We could be staying in a hostel, under a bridge or some seedy motel off the Jersey turnpike for all I care. As long as I’m with you I’m happy.” I said and Tony just looked at me with a smile. “What?”
“I love you.” Tony said.
“Love you too.” I said before kissing him. Tony hummed and slowly we started moving backwards before Tony swept me off my feet and carried me to the bedroom.
The Next Morning…
I woke up to the sun pouring into the bedroom. I was naked with only a sheet covering me. I turned over and saw Tony still in bed snoring softly.
I smiled and just watched him for a minute. I could see a few grey hairs starting to come in… the adorable dimple on his cheek from when he smirked… I saw the scar from where he arc reactor was embedded on his chest. I gently traced the scar and Tony’s breathing hitched.
“Morning.” Tony muttered.
“Morning.” I said kissing his cheek as I curled in beside him. “Hungry?”
“Mh…” Tony groaned hiding his face in my neck. I put my arms around him as he kissed me again, moving between my legs.
Oh well breakfast could wait.
By the time we were finally done we took a short power nap. I got up dressed in Tony’s tee shirt while I washed and cut up some fruit.
“Mh What’s for breakfast?” Tony said coming up behind me and wrapping his arms around me.
“Just some fruit and yogurt. Made coffee.” I said.
“That was next question.” Tony said kissing my cheek.
“So I made a list..” I said.
“A list?” He asked.
“Of things we should do before we leave.” I said. “So I was thinking today we just take a look around go through the markets, eat some street food maybe check out a temple or two but don’t worry not the monkey one we can do that tomorrow, spend a whole day, maybe have a picnic there or…”
“Hales, breathe.” Tony said. “We’re here for two weeks. We’re on vacation… let’s just take a day and relax…”
“You’re right.” I said. “We should relax. Just stay in for a day. Take advantage of the private beach.”
“Now you’re getting it.” He said turning around to serve himself some coffee. I decided to take Tony’s advice and pulled off his Tee shirt leaving me completely naked. I started picking at the fruits I had washed and cut up, and bit into a strawberry.
“Wow that is good.” I said making Tony turn around and spill the coffee.
“Uh…” He said just staring at me.
“That is the sweetest strawberry I’ve ever had.” I said.
“Yeah…” Tony said with wide eyes. He put the coffee down and pulled me into a kiss. I reached down and tugged his boxer brief down. “Mh hales…” Tony moaned slowly moving me back against the counter.
He rocked his hips against me letting me feel how much he was enjoying it before turning me around. Tony put his arms around me kissing my shoulder and my neck. I turned my head to kiss him as I felt him press up behind me.
“Tony.” I said moaning. I felt him line himself up. I bent forward a bit on the counter as he pressed in.
“Uh fuck Hales…” He moaned moving his hands down to my hips to hold onto me as he moved in and out. I pressed against him each time.
“Oh yes…” I moaned.
“Hales… so good baby.” He groaned picking up the pace, moving a hand up to my breasts pushing me up against him. I raised my arm up to pull him as close as I could kissing him.
“Tony AH!” I cried out when I came and felt him spill inside of me.
“Wow.” Tony said still holding me close. When we finally caught our breath I grabbed a berry and offered it to him. He bit right into it. “That’s is really sweet.”
“Yeah.” I said kissing him again.
It took about another day before either of us were up to leaving the house and the only reason we did was because the cleaning crew was due to come in and clean up.
“So what are we doing today? Monkeys, or beach?” Tony asked.
“How about we go into town see what they have in the street market?” I said.
“Shopping?” Tony said.
“We do have to bring back souvenirs.” I said.
“Don’t think they really care about souvenirs as much as they care I bring you back.” Tony said.
“Still a nice thing to do.” I said kissing his cheek before going to get dressed. I ended up wearing a white off the shoulder romper with embroidered flowers, tan gladiator sandals and a straw hat.
We drove closer to town and just walked around for a while looking around each of the stalls. Everyone was very friendly and there was a lot to do. We took a break around lunch time and bought a mango on a stick to snack on. I sent Clint a photo of me biting into it and another one to Nat with the caption ‘You said I needed to eat better so I listened.’
“Is it just me or does fruit just taste better here?” Tony said.
“I thought it was just me.” I said.
“You ever tried a kumquat?” He said. “I could go for one right now.”
“I’ve heard of them but never seen or tried one.” I said.
“Let’s change that.” Tony said leading me over to a fruit stand. We kept looking around and I found a stand with cute earrings and bracelets for Nat. Found a tapestry Will would probably love to hang in the apartment somewhere.
“Hm…” He said. “What do you think? For Pepper?”
“Uh… gold… She has that maroon top that would go really great with those.” I said.
“Okay, we’ll take those and these too.” Tony said.
“Thank you sir.” The vendor said as we kept walking.
“Okay now I’m really hungry.” I said.
“Oh there’s a very good place on the other side of the market, over the water, perfect sunset.” The vendor said.
“Thanks.” Tony said as we walked over. When we got there it was almost sunset and it was beautiful. We sat down and ordered food.
“Okay so there’s actually a temple not too far from the house… they have early morning tai chi and meditation sessions. I was thinking we should go.” I suggested.
“Sounds peaceful. What time?” Tony said.
“Sunrise.” I said.
“That’s a little early.” Tony said. “Besides I like our tai chi… and I was thinking we could start tomorrow by taking advantage of that private beach, maybe some skinny dipping.”
“I thought we agreed the house was clothing optional.” I said.
“Yeah but… the beach…” Tony said.
“Well I do need to work on my tan…” I said. “nap on the hammock after with a cold drink.”
“You have a thing for hammocks don’t you?” Tony said.
“Have you ever taken a nap on one?” I said. “It’s amazing.”
“Guess we should try it out later.” Tony said kissing me. “But first… I need to find an outhouse. Be back.”
I smiled and shook my head at his antics. Man I love him.
“You’re not supposed to be here.” A woman said sitting down across from me.
“You.” I said recognizing her. “You’re the girl from Bucharest.”
“Ruby, thanks for remembering my name.” She said sarcastically. “You’re not supposed to be here.”
“I’m on vacation.” I said.
“No you’re not supposed to be on vacation or in New York or anywhere. You’re supposed to be dead.” She said annoyed. “I saw you die and I’m never wrong so how are you still here?!”
“Not that its any of your business but I was in a coma for a year.” I said.
“That’s not possible.” She said.
“Oh it is…” I said.
“Not possible.” She said reaching for my hand but I quickly pulled it away.
“What the hell?” I said.
“Give me your hand.” She insisted.
“No.” I said.
“I need to see give me your hand!” She insisted.
“Hales…” Tony said sounding concerned.
“You must be the soulmate.” Ruby said.
“Uh friend of yours?” Tony said.
“No.” I said. “Ruby was just leaving.”
“Actually how about a reading?” She asked Tony.
“Yeah thanks but I’m good.” He said. “Not really into fortune telling schemes…”
“It’s no scheme, isn’t that right Hayley?” She said.
“Hales?” Tony asked.
“Would it helped to know I was clinically dead for like four minutes?” I suggested.
“That’s not what I saw.” Ruby said.
“What’s she talking about?” Tony said.
“I gave Hayley a reading a while ago in Bucharest.” Ruby said looking at me. “And it all came true about everything except one thing which never happens so …” She said reaching for my hand.
“I don’t need a reading. I’m retired and very happy.” Hayley said.
“No one avoids death for long.” She said.
“Everyone dies eventually move on.” I insisted.
“You know what fine.” Tony said offering his hand.
“Thank you.” Ruby said
“Tony…” I said warning him.
“It’s just a…” He started before Ruby’s eyes turned white and she started shaking. “That’s a trick.”
“No it’s not.” I said trying to get her hand off Tony.
“Hales…” Tony said trying to pull away but Ruby was deceptively strong. Finally she let go but grabbed onto me instead.
“Ow…” I said.
“Is that normal?” Tony said.
“I don’t know.” I said before she released me gasping for air.
“You’re mother’s a bitch.” Ruby said gasping.
“Knew that already.” I said rubbing my hand. “What the hell was that?”
“I have to go.” She said standing up but I quickly grabbed her wrist.
“What did you see?” I said.
“Dust.” She said before walking away.
“Someone needs to work on their customer service.” Tony said looking me over. “You okay?”
“Yeah…” I said. She saw dust in my future? What the hell does that mean?
“Hales?” Tony said.
“Hm?” I said.
“I asked what she was going on about, from before?” Tony said.
“Nothing important.” I said.
“Hayley...” He said.
“Met her in Bucharest, while I was still looking for Delilah.” I answered. “She did her… thing and she got into this trance. Just said my journey was going to end where it began, the red star would be the one to push me over the edge, cut off one head two more shall take its place.”
“In those exact words?” Tony said.
“Yeah, saw me die too which is why she freaked out when she saw me. Apparently she’s never been wrong.” I said. “Until now.”
“You’re not at all worried about what she said?” Tony said.
“Well my mom’s horrible, knew that already and what kind of prediction is dust?” I said. “Like am I going to be cleaning a lot of it? Or allergies?”
“So you’re not worried?” He said.
“Why would I be?” I said as they brought over our food. “Oh yum.”
A Few Days Later…
While I didn’t get Tony to get up and do sunrise tai chi at a temple I did manage to get him to come see a garden with me.
“Wow.” I said.
“The New York botanical garden has one of these… or well they did.” Tony said.
“Right, you cut down like five rare flower trees…” I said.
“One of those was actually a bush and I replaced most of them.” Tony said as we walked down the path and came across a koi pond and a couple standing in front of a monk who was saying something. “Whoops, looks like we just crashed a wedding.”
“Not a wedding… a commitment ceremony.” I said reading the sign.
“A what?” Tony said.
“Basically a blessing ceremony.” I said. “marriage just not legally binding.”
“You mean like you and Thor?” Tony said.
“For the last time we’re married in the only way that matters.” I said.
“Sh!” Someone said.
“Wait is that Iron Man?” Someone said.
“Uh think we should go.” I said.
“Yeah… Sorry folks. Congrats on… not being married.” Tony said as we stood up.
“Sorry.” I said as we slipped out. Tony seemed a bit pensive as we walked away. “Penny for your thoughts?”
“A penny? Really?” He said. “I mean my last idea grossed over a billion but…”
“Tony..” I said stopping. “What’s going on in the genius head of yours? Cure to cancer? A better tesla?”
That made him smile.
“No just… you ever think about… that.” He said looking at the couple getting not married.
“About a fake wedding?” I said.
“No a real wedding. Like actually getting married, for real?” Tony said.
“I never really thought about it.” I said. “I grew up with the dragon lady and had a new stepdad every couple of months. Basically stuck around for as long as they were needed before they split or Hadrian took them out and for a long time I thought that was all that marriage was. Hell that’s what I thought relationships were like. Now though… I’m not against it. Used to freak out at the thought of being married to Thor now I like it.”
“But that’s not a real marriage.” He said.
“Yes it is.” I said turning back to the couple. “Look those two aren’t really getting married but that blessing means just as much to them as a real wedding. Something is only as important as you make it. Kind of like out first date.”
“So it was a date!” Tony said.
“It was our first date to you. I still think it was just a very weird interview.” I said. “but I love you and love that you consider that our first date.”
Tony just smiled and kissed me.
“And…” I said looking around and grabbing a small vine.
“What are you doing?” He said as I twirled the grass and tied it together.
“Give me your hand.” I said.
“Are you proposing?” Tony said.
“Tony Stark… with this ring I made out of that weird vine that might be sacred in some way I promise that I will be in your life for as long as you’ll have me, that I won’t go after brainwashed assassins, any sociopaths I may or may not be related to, or any known criminal without letting you know or at the very least not go alone, that I won’t chase anyone through any mine fields, get myself intentionally killed…” I said.
“Or put in a coma.” Tony added.
“Or put in a coma.” I said. “And I promise that if you ever decide to propose for real when we are both ready to do it in a state or country where polygamy is legal I will reel you in to a reasonable amount… even if it means we end up having a bigger wedding than a drive thru in Vegas or an Asgardian one.”
With that I slipped the makeshift ring onto his finger.
“Thank you.” He said about to grab a vine. “And uh well…”
“Would you two like a blessing?” One of the monks said.
“Uh…” I said.
“Well… I mean…” He said.
“Do you?” I said.
“I mean we were having a moment…” Tony said. “And it’s not a real wedding…”
“So…” We both said.
“Your souls are truly meant for one another.” The monk said.
“That obvious huh?” Tony said.
“Your auras compliment one another.” He said. “You bring out the best in one another.”
“Practice round for the real one?” I said smiling at him.
“Just one sec…” He said grabbing a vine and the monk eyed him curiously. “Sorry. I promise I’ll love you even when you eventually break some of those promises. That I’ll fly to you whenever you’re in trouble, to not give terrorists my home address though the giant tower with the A gives it away, to go to bed before you wake up so I’m next to you when you wake up, not inject microchips into my spine when you tell me not to, and when we finally do get married for real I promise to keep the explosions to a minimum…”
“Tony.” I said.
“Fireworks, promise. And I promise we’ll only invite the people that really matter to us.” He said slipping the ring on.
“Love you.” I said kissing him.
“Shall we?” The monk said.
Guess I did pick a good day to wear a white dress…
We took a few photos and Tony did post one of us. My face was hidden and he was laughing at something I said. By far my favorite photo of him but that wasn’t the one that broke the internet.
Tony took a photo of both of our hands together with our ‘rings’ and if that wasn’t bad enough he captioned it ‘Mrs. Stark has a nice ring to it’
We had to turn our phones off for the rest of our vacation.
The rest of our vacation went great. We saw temples enjoyed the local cuisine and beaches. Got in a nice tan. Took plenty of hammock naps. I may have to talk to Clint about getting one at the house or would that be too weird?
It was our last night in Bali and Tony was acting weird. I took a run on the beach while Tony worked on some idea he had. I jumped in the shower and when I came out there was a red maxi dress on the bed. I didn’t remember packing it… or owning anything like it.
There was a note from Tony saying he had to step out for a sec but to go ahead and get ready for dinner.
“Hales?” He called out about thirty minutes later.
“Almost ready.” I called out as I slipped on my shoes. I made sure I had my ‘ring’ on before walking out.
“Wow.” Tony said eyeing me up and down.
“Wow yourself.” I said going to hug and kiss him.
“Come on… ride’s here.” He said.
“Where we going?” I asked.
“You’ll see.” He said as we walked out and got into a car.
I thought maybe we’d be going back to the town or to one of the five star resorts but instead we went to a private beach. There were private docks with small homes over the water.
We were dropped off and then Tony led me into onto one of the docks.
“Tony where are we?” I said.
“Well you said you wanted to spend our vacation in a little hut over the water, waking over the water. It’s not exactly what you wanted but…” He said opening the door. “It’s pretty close.”
“Tony…” I said touched at his gesture.
“I also got us dinner.” He said. “And there’s a swing bed for our last night.”
“You’re amazing.” I said kissing him.
“Well you know what they say, happy wife happy life.” He said.
“You’re totally going to mess with everyone when we get back aren’t you?” I said.
“Maybe Rhodey, Pep, and Happy. Definitely Cap.” Tony said.
“Go easy on them, your PR department’s probably been working overtime because of your post.” I said. “Both of them actually. Last photo of us I was blonde…”
“Forgot about that.” Tony said leading us out to the deck. Where a candle lit dinner was waiting for us.
“You know what I’m going to miss most about Bali?” I said.
“The fruit?” Tony said.
“It’s just so good.” I said.
“Wish we could take some with us.” He said. “But customs will probably make us dump it.”
“Yeah. Guess we’ll have to come back one day.” I said.
“Tahiti next year?” He suggested.
“Vow renewal?” I suggested.
“I think we’d actually break the internet.” Tony said.
“Not like you can’t fix it or make it better than before.” I said.
“Maybe I should.” Tony said.
“No shop talk.” I said. “Last night just us. Imagine how much our phones are going to blow up when we turn them on tomorrow.”
“Not until we get to New York.” He said.
“Course.” I said.
“You still want to get dropped off straight home?” He said.
“Yeah it’s Clint’s birthday, and I want to be there when he wakes up.” I said.
“Got him anything?” Tony said.
“I hid it at the house. Hope he doesn’t find it.” I said.
“Hales he’s a spy.” He said.
“I was sneaky.” I said. “So want to try out the swing bed?”
“Tired?” Tony asked.
“Not yet, think you can help with that?” I said.
“You complete me.” Tony said getting up and carrying me to bed.
The Following Day…
The jet landed and Tony had Happy drive us to the house first. We spent the whole car ride calling each other Mr and Mrs Stark. Boy did he freak out.
“Good night Mr Stark.” I said kissing Tony goodbye.
“Good night Mrs. Stark.” He said kissing me again and slowly moving me against the side of the car.
“Uh…” Happy said freaking out. “going to be tons of traffic.”
“Send me a video.” I said.
“Course.” He said giving me one last kiss before letting me go.
“Night Happy.” I said heading in.
Lucky was by the door and immediately pounced and whined.
“Sh…” I said petting him. “Go to bed buddy. Come on.”
He licked my hand before going to his bed. I headed upstairs to our room. I quietly walked in making sure to take my shoes off in the hall.
Clint was laying on his side facing away from the door. I quietly slipped off the purple top layer of my dress and left it on the floor keeping the white textures slip on as I slipped under the covers.
I moved to slowly spoon behind Clint. Hugging him from behind. He immediately gasped and tensed.
“Just me.” I whispered knowing he probably hadn’t taken off his hearing aids.
“Hey.” He said rolling over.
“Hey.” I said smiling as I kissed him.
“Just get home?” He said.
“Mhm.” I said hugging him. “Missed you.”
“Missed you too.” He said hugging me close.
“Talk later.” I said reaching up to his ears and carefully taking out his hearing aids. “Sleep.” I signed.
He smiled laying back down. I put the hearing aids on his night stand before curling up next to him resting my head on his chest. He wrapped his arms around me and slowly drifted off to sleep.
It was good to be home.
