Doctor Strange & Star Lord (among others)
Peter crouched on the floor of his ship in front of his music system trying to make a decision that was of the utmost importance. At least it was to him, not everyone on board shared this viewpoint, however.
“Is this truly a crucial matter?” Thor asked, crossing his arms over his chest while watching Quill.
“Tunes are always important, man. I need to pick the right song for such an epic occasion…there it is. Got it!”

The war against Thanos’ armies raged on with no end in sight. All of Earth’s mightiest warriors were present: the Avengers, Black Panther, Spiderman, Ant-Man, and Doctor Strange, just to name a few. In spite of the strength of their combined forces, it seemed as if they were making very little headway.
All of a sudden, above the din of the battle, another sound made itself known. It was faint, at first, but it began to grow in intensity. Everyone, including the enemy, stopped to look for the source of the noise.
After a few moments, a spaceship dropped down out of the clouds blasting a disco beat that Stephen Strange instantly recognized while the lyrics reverberated throughout the air.
Ooh, and it’s alright and it’s coming along
We gotta get back to where we started from
Love is good, love can be strong
We gotta get right back to where we started from
The ship landed in the middle of the battlefield and the door opened to reveal a blonde man wearing a long coat. Behind him on either side stood a woman with green skin and another blonde man that, in spite of his change in hairstyle and the loss of an eye, Stephen would recognize anywhere as Thor.
Over the sound of the music and the whir of the ship’s engines, Stephen yelled out while making his way over to greet the new arrivals, “Right Back Where We Started From, written by Pierre Tubbs and J. Vincent Edwards, recorded in 1975 by Maxine Nightingale…an oddly appropriate choice for your return. You must be the man they call Star Lord.”
Stephen offered his gloved hand out to Quill in greeting. Peter hesitated for a moment, still in shock about meeting someone who knew as much about his music as he did.
“Where have you been all my life?” Peter asked.
“Sorry?”
“I mean, it’s awesome to meet you, man. You have no idea,” Peter said, taking Strange’s hand and shaking it far too eagerly for far too long. Stephen was trying to think of a polite way to get his hand back when Gamora told Quill to cut it out.
“Yeah, of course, my bad.”
Peter was still staring at Stephen with a look of pure admiration when the music cut off and a smooth R&B song took its place.
I’ve been really tryin’, baby
Tryin’ to hold back this feeling for so long
“Rocket! What the hell?!” Peter yelled in the direction of his ship.
“I call them as I see them, Quill!” He replied before breaking out in maniacal laughter.
“Should have picked ‘Shoot to Thrill’!” Stark’s Iron Man voice said in the distance.
“You pick ‘Shoot to Thrill’ for everything!” Natasha yelled from somewhere in the opposite direction.
Peter watched as a few more of Earth’s superheroes, including Strange, started arguing amongst themselves about what song should be their battle anthem while continuing to fight their opponents.
Pulling out his guns and shooting the alien creatures closest to him, Peter said to himself, “God, I’ve missed this planet.”
