Chapter 1
Chapter I
"We'll always have, Paris." I said with a small smile.
"Yeah… We'll always have Paris." She repeated with an expression I couldn't read for the first time.
"Jisoo.. Jisoo.. Jisoo!" A voice broke through my thoughts.
"What, Chaeng?" I asked, looking at the blond girl with a slight frown.
"Sorry, I've been calling you for a little while now. You okay?"
"Yeah, sorry…" I answered sheepishly while stretching my arms to relieve my tired muscles.
"I must have blanked out while working." I continued while shutting down my laptop.
"You need to rest, unnie. As your editor, I'm telling you to relax and wind down a little bit. Your deadline is still far from now so there's no need to overwork yourself." Rosé replied while looking at the older girl worriedly.
"Don't mind me, I just got lost in my thoughts there for a while. Must be the weather getting to me as well." I answered softly while looking outside the window and seeing the leaves of the trees slowly lose their color to give way to the winter season.
"You also love this season…"
"Jisoo, you know you still have enough time to go out and explore right? You don't have to confine yourself in this hole while writing. Don't you authors need the outside world for inspiration?" Rosé asked while raising a perfectly maintained eyebrow.
"Yeah…"
"So go out there. Take a week long vacation. Heck, take a month long vacation. Explore the world. Take all what the world can give. Feel the emotions from them. Charge this adventure to the company. You earned it anyway. Your last book gave this company enough money to last a lifetime." Rosé said with fervor.
"You're exaggerating with that one… just enough to make us all retire comfortably." I grinned which earned me a soft punch on my arm.
"Owww!" I whined while rubbing the spot she punched.
"That's what you get for interrupting my inspirational speech. Anyway… seriously, take a break. I'm not asking you to submit anything, I just want you to go out there again."
"I'll think about it…" I shrugged.
"Jisoo, what's stopping you?" Rosé asked curiously.
"Nothing…" I turned my head back to the window.
"It's going to get cold soon… you need to bundle up…" I noted while looking at the gentle breeze blowing the beautiful Autumn leaves.
"You sure? You know you can tell me everything. For the 5 years that we've been colleagues and friends, I've never seen you leave this country. Do you have like a travel fear or something?" She gently teased breaking my thoughts once again.
"No, no, nothing like that. I just…" A sigh escaped my lips.
"You know what, yeah, I'll go somewhere." I gave a small smile, hoping that it was enough for Rosé to drop this topic.
"Really?! Great! Let me book you a flight now before you change your mind!" Rosé quickly typed in her phone searching for a destination.
"Any request?" She asked me.
"Japan. Book me a flight to Japan."
