Wednesday Addams was a ๐˜ฎ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฏ๐˜ข๐˜ค๐˜ฆ.

Violent, psychotic - nine out of ten of her conversations ๐˜ข๐˜ญ๐˜ธ๐˜ข๐˜บ๐˜ด included some type of threat. To say she was feared would be an understatement. Most people avoided her like she was the Black Death or something - which, Wednesday has to admit, she secretly enjoys.

People were ๐˜ด๐˜ค๐˜ข๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฅ of Wednesday Addams.

Well, with the exception of Enid Sinclair.

The Addams Heir had just finished playing the cello and conversating with Thing when her roomate, Enid, popped up behind her with furrowed eyebrows and a shocked expression.

"How the hell did you get that oversized violin out the window?"

Wednesday almost took offense to that comment. How on Earth did this ๐˜ช๐˜ฎ๐˜ฃ๐˜ฆ๐˜ค๐˜ช๐˜ญ๐˜ฆ not know what a ๐˜ค๐˜ฆ๐˜ญ๐˜ญ๐˜ฐ was? She simply gestured towards Thing, who was perched up above her musical notes. "I had an extra hand."

Thing waved, and Enid grimaced. "๐˜ž๐˜ฉ๐˜ฐ๐˜ข," she breathed out. Seemingly, this was the werewolf's first time coming into contact with a disfigured hand. Strange, Wednesday couldn't help but think. She'd met two. "Where's the rest of him?"

The goth shrugged, placing down her cello bow. "It's one of the great Addams family mysteries."

Enid glanced over at the full moon, going silent and rubbing her now-sweaty hands together. Hearing the howls of her fellow werewolves and the glowing of the full moon made her heart sink in a sense of... Shame because...how could ๐˜ด๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ, the first daughter of the new generation of the oh-so infamous San Franciso pack, ๐˜ฏ๐˜ฐ๐˜ต be able to transform?

Wednesday took note of the girl's silence. This was strange. Not that she was complaining, but Enid was ๐˜ฒ๐˜ถ๐˜ช๐˜ต๐˜ฆ the chatterbox. Her suddenly going mute was unusual, and the goth had always liked dwelling on the unusual.

And that's when she heard it. Another series of howls. She glanced over at her ๐˜ท๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ๐˜บ ๐˜ธ๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ๐˜ธ๐˜ฐ๐˜ญ๐˜ง roomate, and quirked an eyebrow. "Why aren't you wolfing out?"

Enid looked embarrassed. She looked around timidly before giving a small shrug. "Cause I can't..." she then released her multi-colored claws. "That's all I got."

When Enid started walking towards the end of the balcony and leaning on the wall, Wednesday set her cello down and took a stand. The blonde continued talking, "My mom says some wolves are just late bloomers. But...I've been to the ๐˜ฃ๐˜ฆ๐˜ด๐˜ต lycanologist...had to fly out to Milwaukee, would you believe it?" she laughed bitterly. "You know she says there's a chance I may never..." Enid trailed off awkwardly, not wanting to finish that sentence. That made it ๐˜ต๐˜ฐ๐˜ฐ ๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ๐˜ข๐˜ญ. Too... "...y'know."

The Addams walked forward until she was beside the girl. Turns out Enid did have some interesting qualities after all. "What happens then?"

Enid just shrugged. "I'd become a lone wolf."

"Sounds perfect."

The taller girl could have laughed at that. Of course ๐˜ž๐˜ฆ๐˜ฅ๐˜ฏ๐˜ฆ๐˜ด๐˜ฅ๐˜ข๐˜บ would find the idea of being alone forever ๐˜ฑ๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ๐˜ง๐˜ฆ๐˜ค๐˜ต.

"Are you kidding me? My life would be officially ๐˜ฐ๐˜ท๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ. I'd be kicked out of my family pack, with no prospect of finding a mate." Enid explained, trying to make Wednesday understand the severity of this situation.

Wednesday, of course, did not understand. "I'm failing to see the problem here."

The wolf looked over at her roomate in pure and utter shock. Did Wednesday really not care that much? Was Wednesday really content with the idea of not ever having a family, or a partner?

"I could die alone!" she exclaimed.

Wednesday nearly rolled her eyes. That statement never made sense to her. Partner or not, when you breathe your final breath, you are alone in that. No matter what. "We ๐˜ข๐˜ญ๐˜ญ die alone, Enid."

The blonde was becoming more and more agitated with her roomates' stoicness. You'd think any other person would, you know, ๐˜ค๐˜ฐ๐˜ฎ๐˜ง๐˜ฐ๐˜ณ๐˜ต the person they'd be living with for the next three years after hearing the biggest problem in their life, but ๐˜ฏ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฐ. ๐˜•๐˜ฐ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฐ, not Wednesday. Of course not.

"You ๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ๐˜ข๐˜ญ๐˜ญ๐˜บ suck at this, you know." Enid stated, earning a confused look. "Cheering people up." She realised her eyes were now welling with tears, causing her to whimper and place her head in her hands.

Weirdly enough, this caused Wednesday's cold heart to tug in her chest. Only a little, but enough for her to notice. Her eyes softened ever so slightly. "Why are you crying?"

"Cause I'm upset!" The taller girl spat, causing the goth to flinch. Not because she was scared, but because it caught her off guard. Nobody ever spoke to her like that and got away with it. "Haven't you ever cried or are you above that, too?"

Wednesday froze for a second there. That was a question she'd never been asked before. A question she'd never given the answer too. There was an answer, however. Yes, she had cried, not that anyone aside from her and her mother knew that. For a moment, she felt to just leave it at that and walk away, but then Enid's words rang through her head.

She glanced at her still-crying roomate before beginning.

"It was the week after Halloween." Enid looked over at the goth with wide eyes. She hadn't expected an honest answer. "I was six years old..."

Wednesday felt her heart tug once more at the memory.

"I was taking my pet scorpion, Nero, out for his afternoon stroll, and we were ambushed. They wondered what kind of freak would have a scorpion for a pet. Two of them held me down and made me watch. While the others ran Nero over until..."

She stopped talking, not wanting to finish that sentence as she felt her nose begin to sting. She wasn't about to cry ever again, especially in front of a girl she'd just met. "I cried my little, black heart out. But tears don't fix anything...so I vowed to never do it again."

Enid looked down at the floor, a frown present on her face. She hadn't expected that. She felt... For the fact Wednesday was only six when she saw her pet get murdered in front of her, and for the fact Wednesday hadn't cried in nearly That couldn't be healthy for anyone, even someone as heartless as Wednesday.

She looked over at her roomate, a small smile on her lips. "Your secret's safe with me."

Wednesday scoffed, refusing to look Enid in the eye. "I'd hope so. If not, I will personally see to it that your death is slow, and excrutiating."

The blonde chuckled to herself. Wednesday may have seemed big and bad, but she could tell from that conversation alone that the shorter girl had a soft spot someone in that black, cold heart.

"I'm not scared of you, Addams."

The goth quirked an eyebrow.

"Maybe you should be."

Wednesday Addams was ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฏ๐˜ณ๐˜ข๐˜จ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฅ.

So far, her day had been absolutely awful.

And not in a good way.

Firstly, she'd lost in fencing to Nevermore's own personal ๐˜ณ๐˜ฐ๐˜บ๐˜ข๐˜ญ๐˜ต๐˜บ, as Enid had put it, Bianca Barclay. Usually, Wednesday didn't mind losing. She wasn't fond on it, but it was a tool. A tool to learn. But Bianca, she'd taken it a

She'd ๐˜ต๐˜ฆ๐˜ข๐˜ด๐˜ฆ๐˜ฅ her afterwards. She'd ๐˜ง๐˜ถ๐˜ค๐˜ฌ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜จ teased her. Nobody teased Wednesday Addams and got away with it.

And the day had only gotten worse after that.

Whilst walking away from the infirmary with feelings of rage, pity and self-disgust, she'd gotten herself a one-way ticket back into it after a statue falling from the sky nearly crushed her whole.

Usually, Wednesday would have been overjoyed by a near-death experience. But no. ๐˜–๐˜ฉ ๐˜ฏ๐˜ฐ, the fucking knight in shining armour, Xavier Thorpe, just ๐˜ฉ๐˜ข๐˜ฅ to come to her rescue. Mind you, she wouldn't have been overly pleased if that statue had successfully killed her (because what a ๐˜ฃ๐˜ญ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜ฅ way to go), but she'd have rather saved herself.

And last but not ๐˜ง๐˜ถ๐˜ค๐˜ฌ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜จ least, her own little roomate Enid Sinclair decided to give her a little visit in the infirmary.

Her head was throbbing from the impact from the fall, making her want to socialize even less than usual. Especially not with the likes of go-happy, pink-loving, never-stops-๐˜ง๐˜ถ๐˜ค๐˜ฌ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜จ-talking, Enid Sinclair. After being told by the nurses that she needed to remain in the infirmary all night to make sure she wasn't concussed, the werewolf took it upon herself to stay with her and ๐˜ธ๐˜ข๐˜ง๐˜ง๐˜ญ๐˜ฆ the whole night.

Once the blonde was sure Wednesday was okay and breathing, she immediately started going on a rant about all the "๐˜ฐ๐˜ฉ-๐˜ด๐˜ฐ ๐˜ช๐˜ฎ๐˜ฑ๐˜ฐ๐˜ณ๐˜ต๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜ต ๐˜ฉ๐˜ฐ๐˜ต ๐˜จ๐˜ฐ๐˜ด๐˜ด๐˜ช๐˜ฑ!" at Nevermore, making the goth want to drill a hole into her brain.

This rant had been going on for two hours now.

"Enid," she muttered. The werewolf didn't hear. "Enid." Still didn't hear. "Enid!"

The werewolf flinched, shutting up almost immediately. "Are you okay? Is something happening? Are you hurt-"

"Enid, Enid, Enid-" Wednesday cut her off. She breathed in heavily through her nose, trying to compose herself so she wouldn't kill her roomate then and there. "If you don't shut your mouth in the next ten seconds, I will make sure you will never be able to use it again."

The blonde grinned. She'd become used to Wednesday's threats now. She saw it as their own little personal form of banter. She placed her hand on Wednesday's, her grin widening. "I already told you I'm not scared of you, Addams."

Wednesday's eye twitched.

Why wasn't Enid scared of her like everyone else?

Wednesday had watched Rowan die.

Wednesday saw Rowan get torn to shreds by some monster she'd never seen before, and

Granted, she was starting to doubt herself too. Rowan showed up the next day, unharmed, however he had been expelled from the school for trying to murder Wednesday. But she ๐˜ด๐˜ข๐˜ธ ๐˜ฉ๐˜ช๐˜ฎ ๐˜ฅ๐˜ช๐˜ฆ. Wednesday was many things; psychotic, heartless, 'a threat to society' as Kimbott put it, but she was She knew what she saw.

So, of course, she needed to investigate.

But she needed Enid's help.

She approached her roomate, who had been painting her boat for the Poe Cup, humiliated but desperate. "I have to get back to the woods. But Weems has been watching me like a vulcher circling a carcus."

Enid raised her eyebrow at the pale girl. "So you can return to the scene of a crime that...๐˜ฅ๐˜ช๐˜ฅ๐˜ฏ'๐˜ต ๐˜ฉ๐˜ข๐˜ฑ๐˜ฑ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฏ?"

Wednesday felt her chest burn at how condescending the end of that sentence was. She wanted to argue, to scream that she ๐˜ฉ๐˜ข๐˜ฅ ๐˜ด๐˜ฆ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฏ ๐˜™๐˜ฐ๐˜ธ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ ๐˜ฅ๐˜ช๐˜ฆ, but she'd argued enough about the topic already. If Enid didn't believe her, fine, but she ๐˜ธ๐˜ฐ๐˜ถ๐˜ญ๐˜ฅ help her. "I have beekeping club this afternoon. I need you as decoy."

The wolf scrunched up her face. "๐˜š๐˜ฐ๐˜ณ๐˜ณ๐˜บ. Two strikes. I'm busy and bees ๐˜ต๐˜ฐ๐˜ต๐˜ข๐˜ญ๐˜ญ๐˜บ creep me out." She smirked, thinking of an opportunity to help her new-found hand friend. "Why don't you ask Thing? Oh wait you can't because he's ๐˜ฎ๐˜ข๐˜ฅ ๐˜ข๐˜ต ๐˜บ๐˜ฐ๐˜ถ." the blonde feigned a tone of sympathy.

"Why's he mad?" Wednesday questioned, eyebrows furrowed. "He's the one who screwed up with Rowan."

Enid shrugged. "All I know is that we spent an hour giving each other manis, and he really opened up. He feels like you don't respect him as a person."

Wednesday, ๐˜ฐ๐˜ง ๐˜ค๐˜ฐ๐˜ถ๐˜ณ๐˜ด๐˜ฆ, decided to focus on the one part of that sentence that didn't involve emotions. "Well, technically, he is only a hand."

"Wednesday." Enid rolled her eyes. "He's your ๐˜ง๐˜ข๐˜ฎ๐˜ช๐˜ญ๐˜บ. And he would do anything for you!" she squinted her eyes, before returning her gaze back to her boat. "Go apologize and I'll reconsider helping you."

Wednesday's eye twitched once more, something she found she did frequently in Enid's presence.

"Don't tell me what to do-"

"Or what?" Enid cut her off. "You'll kill me? Dissect my body and feed it to the rats?"

Wednesday breathed in heavily, biting her tongue.

However, she did go and apologize to Thing moments later.

For once in her life, Wednesday Addams was upset she was feared of.

It was making her lose everybody.

Long story short, when her and Tyler went on their little date, he had tried to kiss her and Wednesday...well, Wednesday may have smacked him clean across his face.

A bit harsh, she could agree, but she had made it clear to Tyler from day one that she wasn't even She had proven that fair and square when Enid moved out...

๐˜Œ๐˜ฏ๐˜ช๐˜ฅ.

Wednesday had become convinced Enid got her new little vampire roomie to set some type of curse on her, because ever since Enid had left the dorm, her mind had been plagued with toothy grins, pink sweaters and stuffed animals.

It was torture.

Her uncle Fester had returned, Xavier had been arrested, Tyler called her a "๐˜ง๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ๐˜ข๐˜ฌ ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ข๐˜ต ๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ธ๐˜ข๐˜ด ๐˜ธ๐˜ณ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฏ๐˜จ ๐˜ข๐˜ฃ๐˜ฐ๐˜ถ๐˜ต" and Thing nearly ๐˜ฅ๐˜ช๐˜ฆ๐˜ฅ, but despite all of that, her mind couldn't distract itself from one thing. Her roomate.

To say she was confused would be an understatement. Her and Enid were barely even friends, the only time she would say they were was to manipulate the blonde, but she had to admit...the lack of the werewolf's presence was...๐˜ถ๐˜ฏ๐˜ด๐˜ฆ๐˜ต๐˜ต๐˜ญ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜จ, to say the least.

She had made Enid afraid of her.

The one thing she didn't want to happen, had happened.

ย

///

ย

After Xavier's arrest, Wednesday made her way back to her dorm, expecting to find nothing aside from Thing. But to her surprise, there was Enid Sinclair, unpacking her red duffle bag and on her side of the room.

It was like a weight was lifted off her shoulders.

Enid noticed the girl quite quickly, and gave her a small wave before continuing to unpack her bag. "Hey." she murmered softly.

Deep down, Wednesday wanted to word vomit about how grateful she was Enid had forgiven her, that she really had missed her, to beg her to never leave again, but she didn't. Instead, she simply stated, "You're back."

The werewolf looked up with teasing eyes. "I'm gone for a few days; the place gets trashed, and Thing almost ๐˜ฅ๐˜ช๐˜ฆ๐˜ด. Someone's gotta look out for you two."

"What happened to rooming with Yoko?" The goth asked, squinting her eyes.ย

She shrugged. "Yoko's great!" she clarified, picking up the piece of duct tape. "I just decided I needed a few more boundaries..."

Wednesday's eyes trailed to the tape. Though the duct tape seperating their sides of the room was originally her idea, she wasn't too sure how she felt about it anymore. She didn't want to be seperated from Enid. Not again. "Skip the tape," she murmered, barely loud enough for the wolf to hear.ย

Enid's eyes lit up. "Don't tell me Wednesday Addams is mellowing out!"

"Never." she responded, making the blonde tilt her head to the side whilst throwing the tape onto her bed. "...More like evolving."

The werewolf grinned. "Well, one inch of duct tape at a time."

"Why the sudden change of heart?"

Enid looked thrown off at this question, like she didn't quite know the answer herself. She took two steps forward. "Because we work. We shouldn't, but we do. It's like some weird friendship anomaly." she continued to walk forward, arms behind her back. "Everything you said about me is true...but I don't apologize for it. Not anymore. It's just who I am."

Wednesday felt her heart soften at the speech. Admittedly, the goth had felt guilty for all the stuff she had said about Enid whilst they were arguing, and it was good to know that she hadn't truly upset her with her words. And it was good to know Enid knew her worth. Because she really was worth a lot. She'd missed that positivity in her life.

Wednesday had missed Enid.ย

The goth stared at the blonde, unblinking. "Thing said he missed you."

Her eyes softened. She knew what she meant. "I missed him too."

Wednesday froze, staring at her roomate with eyes so soft it make her wanna gag. What does she say to that? What does sheย actuallyย say to that-

"I'm sorry about Xavier."ย

Enid interrupted the silence, causing Wednesday's eyebrows to furrow. "I'm not. He's a liar and a killer. Besides," she grinned, eyes twinkling. "There's nothing like the feeling of being proven right."

The werewolf smiled widely, lacing her hands together and looking suggestively towards her roomate. "Except maybe someone to share it with...Thing may have blabbed about your date with Tyler. So, how'd it go?"

Wednesday's insides churned. Why did Enid want to talk aboutย Tyler?ย The blonde didn't evenย likeย Tyler. Hell, Wednesdayย barely even liked Tyler. The goth scrunched up her face. "It uh...ended badly, I suppose. Not that I care anyways."

Enid's face dropped and she sat on her bed. "Oh. What...what happened?"

The goth shrugged to herself. "He tried to kiss me. As you know, I'm not not used to people engaging with me. Especially not likeย that.ย So I...uh...I accidentely slapped him in the face. He got mad and called me a freak." she began playing with her fingers, avoiding eye contact. "I think he's scared of me."

The blonde's face softened. "Oh, Wens..." the raven's eyes turned into slits at the nickname, making Enid grin. "Not scared of ya, remember? A few days apart isn't going to change that, Addams."

Wednesday scoffed. "Well, Tyler certainly is."

Enid stood back up, arms crossed as she looked down at the shorter girl with a huff. "Tyler's aย douche. I've said this since day one. You have boundaries, and if he can't respect that then that's on him. I'mย not scared of you, and that's all you need to know. I know deep down inside, that black heart of yours has a little bit of warmth."

Wednesday hummed, looking down at the floor. She'd never admit it, but she really did appreciate Enid not being scared of her. It made her feel comfortable to be herself without fear of judgement. Which was strange, because Wednesday often thrived when it came to the discomfort of others. But not with Enid.ย

"Thank you..." she murmered under her breath. Had it been anyone else, they wouldn't have heard, but Enid was overly fixated on all-things-Wednesday so, she did.ย

Enid tilted her head. "For what?"

Wednesday smiled at her. She actuallyย smiled.ย

"For not being afraid of me."

Enid had nearly died.ย

Enid saved Wednesday and she had nearly died.ย

Enid saved Wednesday and had left Tyler Galpin half dead in the arms of his father.ย

Enid saved Wednesday.ย

Admittedly, fighting a Hyde was not as easy as it sounded. Though Tyler had gotten the short end of the stick, Enid's face was still marked with three massive gashes; one above her eyebrow and two smaller ones across her cheek. Whilst hugging Wednesday, she'd completely forgotten she was in the process ofย losing blood.ย

She'd nearly fainted in her roomate's arms, who had somehow managed to carry her back to their dorm all by herself. For being little and 5'1, Wednesday sure did have some muscle on her.ย

Enid felt her eyes get heavy again, earning a finger snap in her face by Wednesday. She jumped out of her skin, eyes wandering around the room before landing on Wednesday once more. "Sorry..." she mumbled, throat still dry and hoarse.ย

"It's okay." Wednesday replied, still rubbing alcohol on Enid's wounds, earning a lot of hisses and scratches from the girl. "Try to stay awake, please, you could have a concussion. You can fall asleep once you've been checked at the infirmary."

Enid rolled her eyes. "Why didn't you just go and take me to the infirmary for all this then,ย Doctor Addams?"

"Because this part hurts a lot, Sinclair." the goth replied as if it was obvious. "You've already caught me a few times with those nails of yours, but that's because your subconsious tells you not to harm me. That's why you didn't attack me as a wolf. You don't know the nurses in the infirmary, God knows what kind of havoc would rain."

Enid frowned, looking down at Wednesday's slightly bloody hand. "Is that really what you think of me, Wednesday? Some hazardous monster who can't be controlled?"

Wednesday looked at the girl in confusion. "Well, considering you just wolfed out for the first time and are only just getting your abilities under control, yes. Yes, that's exactly what you are."

"Oh." she whispered, looking up to meet Wednesday's eyes. "So you're scared of me?"

She noticed the way Wednesday's black eyes softened with regret. The goth sighed, leaning forward and running her finger across the two stitched-up gashes on Enid's cheek.

"I'm not scared of you, Enid." she murmered.ย

"Your beauty has never scared me. Never."

Enid felt her heart swell up. She placed her hand over Wednesday's, smiling softly.ย

"Me neither, Addams. Me neither."
