Yoohyeon has been in this flower shop for an hour now, she has no idea why she is even here especially on a Monday. Tired from her classes, she just wants to go home and sleep.
“Um, Do you need help finding something Miss?” A voice from behind Yoohyeon said.
Turning around Yoohyeon is met with the most beautiful person she has seen. Shorter than her, wearing an apron wrapped around her waist, blond long hair tied into a ponytail, glassing siting on her face, and most importantly she is supporting a soft smile at her.
“Uh.” Yoohyeon said, with a blush creeping up her face, looking elsewhere trying to avoid the florist eyes.
Giggling, the florist spoke up, “Would you like me to tell you about them,” she said pointing at the orchids in front of Yoohyeon, smiling, “It seems like they have your attention.”
“Yes please.” replied Yoohyeon embarrassed.
For the next couple mins, the florist has been telling Yoohyeon all about Orchids and the meanings each color holds. When the ringing from the door interrupted them, entering a customer.
“Wait here.” said the florist, walking off to treat the customer.
Yoohyeon taking a deep breath, holding her hand over her rapidly beating heart. Why is her heart beating fast? Could it be? But she just met her, she couldn’t already have a crush on this girl who she just met. She doesn’t even know her name. Should she ask? Would that be too weird?
Before she can think more the florist comes back, startling her out of her thoughts.
“YOOHYEON!” she yelled, quickly covering her mouth, shocking both her a the florist.
Looking at Yoohyeon confused, “What?”
“Uh, T-that’s my name, Yoohyeon.” blushing from embarrassment
“Well Yoohyeon, I am Yubin,” Giggling as she holds her hand for Yoohyeon to shake.
“N-nice to meet you Yubin-ssi.” shaking Yubin’s hand.
“No need to be formal with me Yoohyeon,” She smiled, “Have you picked out anything yet?”
“U-uh, yes, I-I will have those,” She said unaware at what she is pointing at.
“Good Choice.” Smiled Yubin.
When she makes it back to her shared apartment, Yoohyeon set the flowers down on the table, taking a seat in front of them.
“Stupid Yoohyeon, Why by flowers when you have no interest in them.” she says, slamming her head down on the table.
“Yoohyeon? Are you okay?” Looking up Yoohyeon spots her roommate looking at her with worry.
“Yeah… I am okay Minji eonnie.” she says running her hands though her hair, turning her attention to the bright yellow orchids.
“You don’t look okay, what's wrong,” worried Minji, taking a seat next to Yoohyeon, “And what’s the bouquet for?”
“It’s just… I might have brought orchids because of a girl, eonnie.” Confessed Yoohyeon.
“Of course you did.” Laughed Minji.
“EONNIE~~” whined Yoohyeon.
With a hearty chuckle Minji tries to cheer up Yoohyeon. “I think it’s cute, you impulse buying flowers because of a girl.”
Minji puts her arm around Yoohyeon and gets up.
“Come on! Let’s get you some food and talk about this girl that is making THE Kim Yoohyeon buy flowers.”
Following Minji, Yoohyeon looks at the yellow orchids on the table before making her way out the door, with a slight smile on her face.
The next day Yoohyeon finds herself outside the flower shop.
“Aish, Kim Yoohyeon what is wrong with you.” Said Yoohyeon, hitting her head, “She is going to think you are weird, if not already.”
Walking in, the sound of the bell alerts Yubin, the reason why Yoohyeon is here, IN A FLOWER SHOP! A PLACE YOU WILL NEVER SEE HER IN!
Yubin greets her, with that stupid smile that makes Yoohyeon’s heart beat faster than normal.
“Um… Yoohyeon?” A hand waves in front of her face, making her come back to reality.
“Oh… Um… H-hello Yubin-ah.”
“You're here to buy more flowers?”
“Ah… Well I was wondering if you can teach me more about flowers…” Blushed Yoohyeon. “I-It’s for a project.”
“Sure?” She had a look of confusion on her features. Yoohyeon was confused, too. She was the first person to ever ask if she could teach her about flowers.
Walking behind the counter, Yubin gestures Yoohyeon over.
“What do you want to know? What are your questions?”
“Well, um… My teacher told us we have to make a display and write an essay about plants. And he said that I should learn more about plants because they are important for the environment.”
Made up, all of this is made up. Yoohyeon congratulates herself for this lie, once Bora finds out about this she would be proud and disappointed at what I have become.
She looks at Yubin innocently. This woman has been nothing but kind to her since day one, and that alone makes Yoohyeon fall even more. Stupid Crush, Stupid Yoohyeon.
“Okay. Let's start with some basics then. What do you want to know?”
By Friday, Yoohyeon has learned a lot about different types of flowers, their meanings, and how to care for them. During those times she got to learn a lot about Yubin. She knows that her favorite color is yellow, she hates pineapples, and really loves pandas. And of course after every visit Yoohyeon always seem to leave with a new flower.
As Saturday arrives. Yoohyeon finishes her last class, which happened to be history, just as it starts to rain outside. She runs out of school before the next bell rings and heads straight to the flower shop.
“Ah! Yoohyeon-ah! You're here!” Yubin smiles when she sees Yoohyeon enter the shop.
“Hello, Yubin-ah. How are you today?”
“I'm okay. Thank you for coming. Did you turn in your project?”
“Uh… Yeah I did, waiting to see the score I got.” Chuckled Yoohyeon nervously. Damn it Yoohyeon sound more believable.
“Good job! I'm sure you'll get an A+!” Yubin smiled at Yoohyeon.
“Uhm… I uhm… I wanted to say something.”
“Yes?” Yoohyeon knew what she wanted to say, but she wasn't sure how to begin.
“I want to thank you… For teaching me about flowers… It has helped my project so much. Especially with all the details you taught me about plants. I think I understand them better now. So… I guess…”
“You’re welcome.” She says.
“So… Um… Do you want to go out sometime?”
“Was waiting for you to ask.” Smiled Yubin mischievously walking away from Yoohyeon
.
Yoohyeon watches Yubin grab something from under the counter. Pulling it up onto the counter, there stood a bouquet of red roses.
“For You.” Smiled Yubin.
And once again Yoohyeon came home with another bouquet of flowers, and maybe a lipstick stain on her cheek.
