Fun In The Sun
“Well, now that that’s taken care of, go! Go explore, have fun!” Mama shooed them off. Ten eyes glimmered in excitement.
“You mean it mama?” Mikey did everything in his power to keep himself from bouncing all over the place.
”Of course I do, my little munchkin! We’re all here to have fun, so go! Have fun!” She smiled while pinching his cheeks. Angelo groaned in embarrassment.
“We’ll have fun! Let’s go!” April sent them a wink and they all collectively run out. The clicking of their footsteps were as clear as daylight as the gang chase each other down the carpeted stairs.
On cruise ships, on the boat there are many activities to do. Water slides, arcades, dances, and other such things are common on these boats. But everyone was still amazed at the vastness of it all. The slides towered over everything, draping around the structure of the ship, leaving you if you were to ride in it, different pools.
To say the arcades were elaborate would be an understatement, bright lights flashed in a appealing way with multiple games proudly on display. Neon colors painted on the walls, giving it a retro feel.
What no one expected was the roller coasters that was on the ship. Multiple different options of tall, medium, and short rides to choose from.
A lazy river was also their, for anyone who just wants to relax. Long and peaceful.
Everyone looked at each other, reaching a unanimous decision by one look. ‘Split up to do the things you want to do first, we’ll meet up later.’ All the boys left with their respective plus one, leaving the two girls behind.
“Wow- no hesitation huh?” April laughed. Her eyes followed all of them, bouncing around to look at everyone.
“What would you like to do?” Sunita asked, her eyes looking for a answer.
”Anything you want to do.” Suni grinned brightly at her response.
“I want to spy on the boys! If you couldn’t tell, they have a little crush!” She winked as she said that. April gasped happily.
“Yes! I noticed it too! God, I thought you never asked! First, let’s hit the water slides.” The two laughed like villains as they came up with their evil schemes.

“Next group!” The lifeguard running the slides called out. Mikey energetically ran up, Alex’s hand in his. April and Sunita were spying from the gates below, trying desperately not to fall over as Suni held April up as she peeped with her binoculars.
“You’re heavier than you look!” Sunita struggled to speak.
“Shh! It’s ok babe, I believe in you! You can do this.” Sunita beamed at the praise April uttered.
Mikey hopped onto the two-person floaty, barely restraining his excitement. His eyes were full on shining, this would be the first time he goes on one of these!
Alex with the same amount of energy jumped onto the floaty as well, eyes also glimmering.
“Ready?” The guard asked the two. The both nodded joyfully in response.
Without another word, they sent them down. The speed was faster than Mikey thought as they go racing down the water slide, water splashed all around them. He closed his eyes, feeling a bit scared as he clings onto the person next to him, on his waistline to be more specific.
Alex noticeably turned red at Angelo’s hug, not really knowing what to do he moved his hands down to comfort him by stroking his back. Mikey opened his eyes for a minute until immediately shutting them again with his ears now flushing red.
April let out a gasp.
“What!? What is it!?” Sunita asked from below. She was still trying to balance, holding onto the gate polls.
“They’re so cute!!! Their holding onto each other!” April squealed, trying not to kick her feet up and throw Suni off of her already poor balance right now. They forgot how close they were to the slide because immediately the get splashed by a wave after their friends came down.
The two were laughing about who know what to see then drenched, laying on the floor.
“Haha- oh! Hi April, hi Suni! Why are you lying on the floor?” Mikey asked as he gave them a hand up.
“No reason! Not at all!” April tried to play it cool.
“That’s not true, we were-“ April covered her mouth before Sunita could continue.
“Alright then? Wanna go on another one?” Alex beamed.
“Heck yeah!” And with that the two were already skipping away.
“Roller coasters?” Sunita turned her head.
“Roller coasters!” April shook her head.

Two thrilled squeaks were made in the boarding area of the ride. The carny looked unimpressed as they help the two on. April and Sunita hopped into the back to get the best angle for spying on them.
“Leo, just so you know I’m kinda scared of roller coaster so I might scream a bit.” Usagi muttered.
The guy running the roller coaster did safety checks to make sure everyone’s seatbelts was properly on.
“That’s ok man! You’re brave best friend will protect you.” He dramatically stated, changing his posture into one of a superhero. Yuichi couldn’t resist a giggle, smiling widely. Leo blushed slightly as he continued.
“No height can hurt you when I’m here! You can hold onto my hand if you’re scared.” Leo came off very confident until that last part, he sounded nervous.
The guy gave the one running the mechanics the thumbs up that it was safe to start.
“…Thank Leonardo.” Leo turned red at his the use of his full name.
“Aww!” April whispered while watching. Sunita smiled goofily along with her girlfriend.
“Tell me Suni, do you feel the love?” She sighed dreamily.
“Yeah! Their so cu-“ The ride started moving before Sunita could continue. The two gulped as they held each others hand, seatbelts keeping them from doing more.
The build up was slow as Usagi felt his heart begin racing, he anxiously took a breath as he closed his eyes. This would be fun! He’s got this. They made it to the peak and *ZIP*!
They go plowing down the hill of the coaster. “WHOOO!” Leo cheered excitedly. As an adrenaline lover this is what made him feel alive! He felt his friend’s hand grab tightly on his and time felt more slow. He was still cheering but now he was comforting his friend. He stroked Usagi’s hand with his thumb to provide support.
Although April and Sunita were screaming like banshee behind them, they were still very much paying attention to them, smiling evilly to each other as a plan forms in their minds.
Just as soon as it began, the ride ended and Yuichi was breathless, more pale than normal as he laughed out a wheeze. They exited the ride as the girls carefully sneaked away. Next stop: arcade!

The two walk in and immediately find Donnie and Kevin playing something. The two take cover, peeping from the corner to see how this plays out. In order to help, they have to know how they act around each other, the entire reason why their doing this to begin with.
“Can’t catch me ghosts! I’m will get the high score!” Donnie proclaimed with mischief. He wanted to be number one, and he will be. He will beat Man-PAC (protected under copyright as a parody, please don’t sue me!), even if it’s the last thing he does!
“No way are they going to get you, you’re very good! At least I-I think so!” Kevin fumbled on his words but he still gave his support.
“I am very good! I- uh, thank you, I guess.” Donnie muttered. Kevin smiled at that, he knew him well enough already to know that for him, that was very sencier.
April couldn’t help but laugh as the pure dopamine of Kevin being his cheerleader while they play a game was all she could see. It felt like injecting sugar into her blood, it was so sweet. Especially after seeing everyone else, this was so cute to her.
“Eee!” Sunita seemed to agree, letting out a squeak that sounded like someone fangirling over a band. April’s heart melted.
“You got this Don! I believe in you!” Kevin let out another cheer.
“Almost… so close!” Donnie whispered to himself. He felt himself get more lively as he resisted the urge to let go of the controls to flap his arms on joy.
The machine made beeping noises as he hit different controls, soon “Bootyyyshaker9000” will be number one in the world for Man-PAC and he will be seen as cool by his friend.
“Annnnd… yes!” Boom! With a excited shout Donnie stimmed and cheered himself on. His friend cheered as well, both seeing this as an important accomplishment.
“You did it! I knew you could! Ah, D!” Kevin squealed.
“I know right!? Hahaha!” Donnie squealed back, a rare moment of huge emotions he can’t hold on restraints has slipped out.
“You’re awesome! Can I hug you?” He asked Donnie, seemingly a bit embarrassed.
“Oh- I.. sure. Come here Kev.” Kevin’s eyes glimmered brightly at that, making Donnie flush red. He ran into his arms, giving him a huge hug. He rubbed a arm behind his back in a soothing way, he did so back.
“Ahhh! So adorable!” April gushed. One place left to go. The lazy river. God, she needs to help these oblivious fools.

Pretending to read a magazine, the two watched Raph and Elijah chill out on their floaty.
“Sorry that Raph wanted to do this first, just wanted to do something relaxing, you know?” Raph struggled to find the best way to explain.
“Nah man, we’re good and besides, this is pretty nice.” Elijah reassured him, parting his shoulder.
“Really?” Raph perked up. “You don’t think it’s annoying?”
“Never, as long as I’m vibing with you, man, I don’t care what we’re doing.” He flashed him his usual dumb smirk whenever he said things like that.
“Pfft-! Dude!” Raph laughed in embarrassment.
“What? What I’d do?” He blinked innocently.
“Don’t just say cheesy stuff, warn me first! I wasn’t prepared!” He continued chuckling.
“Kinda the point, red. I love hearing that laugh, it means I did my job well.” Eli’s tone became softer, ever so slightly. Barely noticeable, but there.
Raph just kept laughing, not able to say anything, he was so embarrassed. He was blushing, hardly. It was amusing to April, doing her best to pretend she ain’t seeing anything. Sunita did so too, sipping on some strawberry lemonade (which April has no idea where she got from) not so sneakily catching glances at them.
“Ok!” Raph finally caught his breath. “I’m good now. Now let’s see…” He was plotting revenge for making him lose it. He scooped up some water, humming suspiciously as he did so. Without a word he splashed his friend in the face.
“Ack-! Raph!” Elijah snapped his head, the taller teen just laughed. Again. The two start a water fight, splashing each other and other forms of play fighting.
“AHHHH! So cute.” Suni struggled to contain her giddiness.
“I know, right? I think I have an idea.” April said mindfully.
“What is it?” She turned her head in confusion.
“Operation: Double Take is a go! It’s a code name for our plan of love, my dear!” April beamed. Sunita gasped happily when she realized.
“We set plan into motion when we all meet up next.” With a handshake and kiss, the plan was agreed upon. Operation: Double Take is a go!
And it will be something even their rose tinted dreams couldn’t come up with!
