Note
Hi there y'all so I had written this story a while ago and I wanted to rewrite it to match my writing style, the plot has stayed the same but I changed it up a bit. I hope everyone is staying safe and having a good time, I needed to take a break from studying so this came about. It's just about finals week and I'm not having it that's for sure, anyways quick disclaimer as one does. I do not own any of the characters from X-Men Evolution, only my OC's, I hope you love them as much as I do! Enjoy!<3

First day

On a dreary Monday morning, as Monday’s most usually are, the brotherhood house was bustling with teenagers trying to get ready. The girls had all been given a separate bathroom from the boys which was larger than theirs as well which gave them more room to get ready. Rosie was helping Lena curl her hair whilst Lana was finishing applying her lipstick to help compliment the outfit she was wearing. It was the same as last night, but she had a black skirt and a white shirt instead. Rosie checked her appearance in the mirror once more fluffing her naturally curly red and hair pulling at her white crop top making sure it hung off her shoulders just right and her dark wash skinny jeans that held all the right curves that ended at the chunky black heeled ankle boots she was wearing. She pulled Lena out of her chair and was about to pull her out of the bathroom when she stopped. Rosie and Lana walked back into the bathroom to see Lena staring at herself. The two older girls wrapped her in a hug before Rosie said softly,

“Lena just because your skin is different doesn’t mean you deserve to be loved or respected any less.”

Lena held their hands as she inspected herself one last time, she’d decided on a pair of bootleg light wash jeans and black vans. A black shirt that hung off her shoulders like Rosie’s while it clung to her tiny figure, it showed off her vitiligo beautifully.

The three girls ran downstairs just as the boys started leaving their rooms. Everyone ran around the kitchen making lunches and grabbing breakfast bars, which the girls had bought on their shopping trip. Todd yelled for Rosie to throw him one as she was putting her lunch bag into her backpack. It sailed through the air and he caught it with his tongue and threw it into his bag. Lance helped Lena grab a Gatorade from the top shelf as Rosie reaches past him for her car keys. Almost falling in the process Lance caught her at the last moment before she fell and righted her with a smile as the two started towards the door. Lance, Fred, and Lana all piled into Lance’s Jeep while rest of them jumped into Rosie’s convertible bug. With windows down and music blaring, Rosie threw her bug in drive and followed Lance down the street as they didn’t know how to get to school. Pietro making sure Rosie kept in the right direction as Lance drove like a bat out of hell and often pulled away from them too quick. Todd pointed to places and people being a tour guide to Lena as they drove down the city roads. Her eyes wide as she took in all the new sights and laughed as Todd told her stories of his time there in Bayville.

The two cars pulled into Bayville High as the whole campus seemed to go quiet. That including the Xavier’s kids all standing around Scott’s car as well as the giant black SUV that parked next to them. As the Brotherhood boys and girls exited the cars and began talking to one another, a few of the X-Men turned to Evan who look like he was about to send a spike sailing through Lance. Especially whenever he and Rosie leaned up against her car and began conversing. Scott leaned over to Evan while everyone gathered around them quickly,

“Okay so these girls are staying with the Brotherhood?! Thanks for conveniently forgetting to mention that Evan!”

Evan glared at Scott and if looks could kill, he’d be twelve feet under,

“I didn’t know man! Whenever I talked to Rosie, she said they were new to Bayville today and they were all super friendly. There’s a chance that they haven’t been introduced to their “evil ways” or whatever we’d call it. We might have time to get them away from the boys.”

As they stayed in their circle talking, over across the parking lot the Brotherhood boys were making their own plans to keep the girls clear of the Xavier kids. Pietro gathered their whole group and began speaking to the guys and girls,

“Everyone pairs off with one of the girls, walk them to their classes and everything. The Xavier kids will most likely try and “recruit you” To their “Team” all we want is for you girls to be safe. Please don’t talk to them or interact with them unless you have to.”

Lena asked,

“Who are the Xavier kids?”

Fred very obviously pointed over to the grouping of Scott, Jean, Kitty, Kurt, Evan, and Rouge. Rosie’s face fell a bit whenever she saw who Fred was pointing to, Lance saw this and gently reached out to touch her arm. She looked up and smiled at him, the seven teenagers began to walk into school each pairing off with one of the girls. Evan glared daggers as Lance caught his eye grinning smugly as he threw his arm around Rosie’s shoulders. That’s when Kitty finally pipped up about the situation,

“So, what are the two of them like dating or something? We only broke up like three weeks ago!”

Jean looked crossly at Kitty before saying,

“I thought you weren’t interested in this situation Kitty?”

Kitty flipped her ponytail and threw her arms up before huffing out,

“What-EVER!”

Then stomping in towards the doors, all the gang watching her walk in the direction of Lance and Rosie. Kurt and Evan looked at each other before running to catch up with Kitty to make sure she didn’t try anything. Scott sighed heavily before looking to Rouge and Jean saying,

“This is going to be a very long day.”

Everyone wanted to get a look at the new girls at Bayville High School, most people were interested in seeing Rosie as the entirety of her arms up to her shoulders were covered in the most beautiful and stunning floral tattoos. People whispered and did what they thought was sly pointing even though all the girls noticed. Rosie held her head high, but Lance knew she hated the attention, it was one of the things that the two had talked about sitting on the porch last night. She didn’t like drawing attention to herself, Rosie preferred to sit on the sidelines and observe the others around her. Having all the eyes on her was something way out of her comfort zone, Lena and Lana knew that looking up to her to check on her. The guys walked them to the office where they got their schedules and started off towards all their classes.

Lance walked next to Rosie as they went to their first period, Mystique had taken the liberty of matching up the girl’s classes with one of the boys at least. As the pair walked down the hallway talking Lance kept an arm around Rosie glaring at anyone who stared at her for too long. They stopped by the bathroom so Rosie could go in and use the restroom before their class started. Lance stood outside getting a drink of water from the fountain when a loud voice brought him upright.

“So, you couldn’t even wait a month before finding a new girl to hang off of?!”

Kitty stood there expectantly waiting for an answer from Lance, her hands planted firmly on her hips. He looked at her flippantly before saying,

“If I do correctly recall Kitty you were the one who broke things off with me so that you could chase after a jock. Who I might add was only trying to use you to get to Rouge which didn’t work out well for him.”

Kitty was taken aback as she quietly stated,

“You didn’t call me Kitten...”

Lance looked at her again with a hurt expression as his voice raised to a yell,

“And you never gave me a real reason why we broke up, only some bullshit excuse of ‘it’s not you it’s me’ and I had to find out from Toad that you were flirting and throwing yourself on Andrew!”

At the last comment the ground started to shake and sway everyone in the hallway. At that Rosie quickly came out of the bathroom and ran over to set a hand on Lance’s shoulder. He turned to her as she spoke quietly,

“Hey, are you alright what’s going on?”

They had a quiet conversation as Kitty really got a good look at Rosie up close. She was absolutely stunning in every sense of the word. And for that Kitty hated her, she already seemed to have this connection with Lance that she’d never had. Rosie looked past Lance’s shoulder to see Kitty fuming where she stood. Realizing that her being there probably wasn’t helping the situation she gently grabbed Lance’s hand and the pair walked off towards chemistry. Kitty watched them walk past and decided that a little revenge might be in order. She roughly grabbed Rosie’s arm and sunk the bottom of her heels into the floor. Rosie almost lost her balance as she sunk a bit into the floor, Kitty smirking behind her. Rosie looked around to be sure no one else was in the hall before her tattoos and eyes glowed slightly. Vines broke through the tiles by her foot and pushed away it so she could move her feet again. Lance turned to yell at Kitty before Rosie stopped him,

“Lance it’s okay, c’mon we gotta go or we’ll be late for class.”

The two walked away leaving a stunned Kitty to watch the pair as the turned the corner to enter a classroom. As she stood there in disbelief Jean rounded the corner after watching the whole ordeal go down. Kitty soon noticed Jean standing there with a very disappointed look on her face. Kitty huffed and walked away to first period before receiving a lecture from Jean.

“Scott, we haven’t seen anything like her before, it’s evident that she can manipulate the plant life around her. I watched her break the tiles around her when Kitty sunk her into the floor.”

The disappointment was evident in her voice and Kitty looked down at the feet harshly. She knew Lance was gone but she didn’t want it to be true, she wanted him to come over and invite her to sit with him knowing it would piss off Scott. But he didn’t, he sat near the group of girls as the three talked. The way he looked at that Rosemarie girl, it held more love than she had ever seen from him looking at her. It made her so angry that tears threatened to flow, but she tried to keep her composure as she thought to herself that it really was true. You never realized what you had until it was gone. Rouge looked over to the girls with a determined face like she was trying to recall a memory.

“Yo Rouge you good girl?”

Evan asked through his bites of his sandwich and sips of milk.

“Yeah I just don’t know why,”

She left off with a brief pause that left everyone leaning in to hear what she had so say.

“I feel like I know her, and now that I’m looking at all them. I feel like I know all of them, I’ve seen them before I know I have! I just can’t think of where!”

“We’ll help figure it out if we can!”

Kurt put his hand on Rouge’s shoulder encouragingly, but Rouge was too lost in thought to even notice.

The bell suddenly rang, indicating to all the students that it was time to go back to class. Rouge broke off from the rest of the group to follow the girls who walked towards the bathroom talking and laughing. As she looked around to make sure none of the brotherhood boys were following them, she silently slipped inside the bathroom.
