A kiss was enough to satisfy her as I wasn't the one that instigated it.
“Was that okay?”
Gura backed away, embarrassingly covering her face, looking off in the distant blue. Without waiting for the wind to pick up, I picked up the pieces of what happened.
“It was good. Yeah, I was kinda surprised.”
We were both friends, but seemingly out of nowhere, she kissed me on the lips. I merely froze in shock, as it went on. And before I knew it, I was left speechless.
I didn't know she felt this strongly towards me. Maybe it was the fault of us being really good friends.
Our relationship was as typical as any other. Nothing made us special from the rest.
As I clouded my brain with thoughtless rambles, it seems I'd finally calmed down. For someone like me, being caught out of the blue was surprising. Well, I never had any actual credentials to prove I was a legendary detective. Fortunately, I couldn't shoot myself in my own foot.
Good job, me.
“Since I'd kissed you, well… y'know…”
Gura continued embarrassingly covering her face—we were in a blue canvas. The artist on the other end had to be drooling for what was to come next. And to be honest, I couldn't blame them. Even they didn't think it'd turn into a lighthearted story. Boy, were they wrong?
I gently interwoven our fingers clasping them, and held them up to the sides of our faces. Without needing her to repeat, I acted before speaking my words.
“Of course.”
I leaned into the aquatic features on her face. And for what happens next, it was the friendliest gift a best friend could offer.
