Chapter 1

When an argument somehow started in his lab between himself and Izuna - less argument and more bickering about how Tobirama's shadow clones should be considered cheating when it comes to a spar - he had not expected Hashirama to come barreling in with Madara hot on his heels yelling about the Hyuga and the things they had demandedwanted to be assured to them before joining the village.

He had just been on the brink of getting Izuna to buzz off and now a new fire was lit.

Whelp. There goes his quiet afternoon. On his day off .

But being the over chakra powered fool Hashirama was, he put a hand on the seal that was drying on the other side of the lab. A big seal. One that took allfour of them with it.

Tobirama had not yet tested it and had no idea what his idiot Anija smudged when it activated.

For all he knew, the assault on his senses was him dying. What he said next was just on a whim.

"Anija, Madara, reign in your chakra, you overpowered fools, I can barely think ." The flood receded to the normal spewing amount and he took a deep breath before opening his eyes.

He was confused and wanted to understand just what had happened.

Because yes, they were still in his lab. But, it wasn't hiscurrent lab.

It was older looking. Dust covering every surface. Different smudges and marks from what Tobitama could only guess was outcomes of experiments he had yet completed. He could tell just from looking at this dirty and dingy forgotten room that they were not in their time anymore. No, this was the future. Question is, just how far into did they go?

He turned and glared at the two who caused this, staring at them. His Anija was blanching and Madara just looked off with a guilty blush on his cheeks.

"Now, Tobirama- I know this looks bad but-"

"Anija, be quiet . There is nothing you can say to rectify this. We're clearly in the future version of my lab." He bit out at him, the elder one looking down in shame. He looked at Madara again, who was still looking away. "Don't think I've forgotten you dear husband , you had a hand in this as well." Madara's hair puffed up slightly as it usually did when he was getting ready to defend himself, but Tobirama turned back to where Izuna had wandered to in the space.

"I'm surprised it was forgotten like this. I was so sure you would have left it to Kagami." Izuna said, looking around with his sharingan activated. "No seals active in here right now, none if your usual protections on things."

Tobirama looked around closer himself… and Izuna was right. None . Of his warding seals were active in the lab, not even the ones on the ceiling. "It's a wonder this place is still standing then…" he muttered and sighed.

"And just by the looks of the one corner, all of my sealing supplies is gone, so a way back will require us to leave and find out more about when we are and to gather new supplies."

"Should we henge? Depending on when this is, we're probably not around anymore." Madara said, trying to be helpful.

"A good point but any good sensor can pinpoint the henge easily and I'd rather just be questioned on why we are here then why we were here and hiding ."

"Do you think your door seal still works?" Hashirama asked tentatively.

"If the door itself has not rusted over first, perhaps. I usually re do it once per year and clean the metal.

The door had rusted over but it only took one good collective punch for the hinges to break and for the door to fall easily down in front of them. Tobirama had used a thick metal when he had first put it on.

"Remind me to somehow create an anti-rusting seal or something when we get back, I'd rather not see my lab be so easily broken into by the right enemy in the future."

What stood before them though, had them all question what the hell the village had become since their time.

A boy in tattered and stained clothes that look too big and too small at the same time, dirt caked into greasy blonde hair, with no shoes, tear stains on his whisker marked cheeks, staring at them terrified with a stick in his hand.

"Y-You better s-stay 'way! I-I ain't going back to that orph'nage! No one's hittin' me never 'gain! D-Dattebayo!"

This kid, no toddler , was so very right. He just didn't know why yet and how anyone who had done this to him was going to pay .

At least, that was what he felt in the collected chakra around him, all expertly avoiding said child with the intent they were letting spill.

I really hope you had no hand in this Hiruzen.

But as luck would have it, that same man was sitting in the Hokage's office.
