It wasn't the first time something like this had happened-

No, quite the opposite. Mario & Sonic would always head to the Olympic games together, and Blaze would always leave her dimension to compete.

But this time felt different.

It was the 100 meter sprint, and Amy was watching from the sidelines- She decided not to participate in this one, taking a rest after the relay event.

Sonic, Shadow, Mario, Blaze, and Waluigi were competing.

Usually, Amy would be rooting for Sonic- not this time.

She hadn't seen Blaze in awhile, and these events were the few times they'd get to see eachother, excluding times of crisis- so Amy thought to give her some encouragement.

"Woo! Go Blaze, you've almost done it!" Amy yelled from the sidelines excitedly, overjoyed with a smile on her face as she watched Blaze speed ahead of the other 4-

But then, as Sonic began to catch up, Blaze had to use a certain move to stay in the lead-

She launched herself forward in a flaming inferno, charging towards first place-

And Amy froze, for a moment, gazing into the bright, wonderful flame-

It was beautiful. She couldn't stop focusing on it- it was like staring at the last star in a galaxy of darkness.

She barely even realized what she was doing until Blaze reached the end of the event, gaining first place she snapped out of it, shaking her head as her face turned red.

Amy was confused at first, holding her head in her hands briefly.

What was that? She didn't think she had a crush on Blaze- she just thought they were friends- but now? How many times has she done this and just...didn't realize?

As Blaze was given a medal, congratulated, cheered for- Amy couldn't even notice it, lost in thought, before Blaze waved to her, signaling for her to come over.

Amy, after a few seconds of delay, got up from her seat and headed down to see Blaze-

Smiling as she walked over to her.

"You did great out there, Blaze! I was super excited to hear that you decided to visit for this!", Amy spoke joyfully as she stood infront of Blaze, trying to forget what happened earlier-

"Thank you, Amy. It was nice seeing you here aswell.- Oh, we'll be doing team archery, soon. I was wondering, if..." Blaze replied sincerely, hesitating at the end of her sentence.

Amy blushed, albeit just for a moment- Blaze was happy to see her. Well, they *were* friends, so that wasn't exactly out of the ordinary- Blaze said that alot to her- She just noticed it more, this time.

"If...what?" Amy said, chuckling slightly.

"...If you'd like to join my team. If you're up for it, I feel like it'd be a great time." Blaze continued quietly and somewhat awkardly- smiling nervously as she waited for a reply.

"Oh." Amy said as she stopped for a moment, surprised.

"No- yeah- Blaze, that'd be great. I'd... love that." Amy said happily- she genuinely wanted to be on Blaze's team.

As she spoke, Amy absentmindedly grabbed Blaze's hands gently, only realizing moments after-

But as she realized, her face turned red and embarrassed- she almost took a step back, hesitating as she saw Blaze-

Blaze was blushing, yet only slightly.

She was gazing into Amy's eyes and Amy then back into hers.

It was beautiful- her eyes were like the inferno. Flaming, bright, and wonderful.

Blaze stared just stared at Amy sweetly- it was like staring into an endless field of freshly blossomed flowers. It was peaceful, caring, and felt safe.

Seconds later, however, the silence was interrupted- Silver ran over excitedly, stars in his eyes as he jumped on the spot, clearly happy.

"Blaze! Blaze! You won!- That was so fun!" He yelled, shaking his hands.

"Thank you, Silver, I'm aware. You did exceptionally well yourself." Blaze replied, laughing slightly as she turned away from Amy.

"I'm glad I decided to go."

"Yeah- and I'm glad I got sent here! Uncontrolled time travel usually doesn't do me any favors..." Silver said joyfully, his voice becoming slightly more sombre at the end of his sentence.

Blaze shot him a concerned look- speaking,

"Well, it certainly did this time." in a reassuring tone.

"Thanks, Blaze. I guess it di-" Silver replied before a voice called over to him; It was Espio, who was waving at him.

"Oh- I gotta go, have fun you guys!" Silver continued as he cheered up, turning away from Amy and Blaze with a smile as he ran over to Espio.

Blaze turned back towards Amy-

"See you at archery." She spoke in a caring tone, waving goodbye to Amy as the two walked off.
