Count Olaf Headcanon
Trigger warning- mentions of death, kidnapping, drugs, and alcohol.
Type of yandere- He would be a manipulative sociopathic type at times, he's capable of empathy but he kind of doesn't like showing that side of himself. He's tactical, very tactical, and cunning so if he locks onto you, you're screwed. My theory is that if he lived after The End and left the island after patching things up with the Baudelaire's, he would be a bit better. Still money hungry, but less needing of it because he now needs someone to fill the void in his heart that he ignored.
How you met- Ok three ways that it could happen.
1) He knew you before and you were part of his theatre troop, you were different than the others and didn't like harming people. He slowly fell in love with you, it was something that snuck up on him and one day he was like "oh shit, I'm in love.". You left before the Baudelaire's came along, so he was trying to brush it off and get over it but he couldn't. So what did he do? Resorted to drinking and possibly drugs to numb how he felt, and it didn't work you weren't like Kit in the easiness of getting you out of his head. So when he realized it wasn't working he started stalking you, to try and "be there" for you without actually being in your life. When the Baudelaire's came along he was so irritated because they were infringing on his time to stalk you and do whatever it was he wanted to do, so his short temper became even shorter. One day between The Miserable Mill and The Austere Academy he kidnapped you, where he found time between being greedy and plotting his next move I don't know, but he took you back to his house.
2) After The End (in my little au) he actually meets you at acting school. You have no idea who he is because he changed his whole look and goes under the name Kenny Weber, he acts nice to you and you're very friendly with him. He knows he has a crush on you, and that's because whenever you say anything to him like "My friend John/Jessica..." he gets jealous. Though he pushes it down because he loves you and doesn't want you to see him angry because he knows you'll lose complete interest in him. So he just keeps talking to you, genuinely being your friend until he gets to be someone in your everyday life. When that happens he starts killing people you care about, he starts with people who aren't as important in your life and works up to the bigger ones (parents, siblings, grandparents, close friends, people like that.). When he's pretty much the only person left in your life that's when he starts making you cling to him. You don't notice what's going on until one day you leave the house alone to get coffee or something. When you come back home and open the door he's there panicking pacing back and forth in the front room. He'd most likely get angry when he calms down and realizes you aren't hurt, he'd say something like "who told you to leave the house?" or "what in the world were you thinking? do you know you could've been hurt?". You brush it off and are telling him to relax and he won't. After that everything gets locked. Front door, back door, attic/basement door, windows, vents, some cabinets? Yep locked. That's when you notice that he's being controlling and toxic, and yeah he lashes out when you confront him. He basically drags you down to the basement, which he set up as a room for you, and chains you to the bed. He spends time with you, A LOT of time with you. So yeah, the reader doesn't escape.
3) Platonic yandere! Yes I've been waiting for this opportunity. In my au when he comes back to the mainland, he's kind of chill. That's until he finds you, a homeless child. It was the guilt he was carrying with the Baudelaire's honestly. (Tiny theory for this he works as a barista during the day and an actor at the community center during the night). He moves you into his apartment, which is really tiny. He tries to make sure you're happy because he always wanted pure happiness. His protectiveness only starts when you get bullied at school, when it starts to get worse he begins homeschooling you. Yeah you were happy, super happy that you got to stay at home and learn. You'd visit the library every day to pick out a book, conduct experiments with him, and travel with him when he got a new acting gig. The problem only starts when you realize that a lot of books you were reading were on acting and you didn't want that to be your career. Then everything got worse when you started having romantic and/or sexual feelings (or not. alternately the reader just tries to make friends for all you aromantic/asexual people out there). Yeah he didn't like that, he wanted you to be as pure as white snow. So he kind of just keeps you isolated, or telling you lies about people. So yeah that's kind of how it goes, you just vibe with him all the time without realizing that he's hurting you.
Types of reader-
1) Nice, kind of oblivious of the world but not too much. You believe that everything has feelings, plants, people, animals, books, everything. You sometimes apologize the ground for walking on it, and tell your house/apartment goodbye.
2) Ditzy, oblivious to the max, is very calm and laid back. Kind of emotional at times, but not often. You like to meditate in your plant room and do yoga in there. Coffee or tea is kind of your thing. You like reading but have a personal preference for visual arts over the literary arts.
3) Somewhat oblivious, nice, sensitive, and shy/quiet. You're used to being ignored constantly, people ignored you all the time. But you're honestly very nice to people, doing whatever you can to help. Even when you were homeless you helped old ladies across the street or carry grocery bags home. Very, very obedient, will do and obey whatever Olaf says, you say you owe him your life.
Character's personality-
Olaf as I said is tactical and cunning, despite his slip ups he's wise and actually very clean with his kills. He doesn't try to force himself on you in any way he lets time do its thing. He's respectful in giving you privacy, he couldn't really imagine seeing you without clothes on. Overall he's chill just not the kind you want to be bothered with all the time.k
