The aftermath of the Crackstone fightJust two baby gays looking after each other before confessing their undying love for each other while Thing just vibes in the corner

Enid doesn't really know how she got here, the last thing she remembers was panicking because she didn't know where Wednesday was, not since she started fighting Tyler, and then she was there. Hugging her. Wait.

Wednesday Addams was HUGGING HER?!

Omg, my life is complete.

Instead of dwelling too much on it right now, she definitely will when she's in bed later, she decides to just enjoy it, not knowing if it will ever happen again.

The smaller girl was cold against her, the once pristine braids in her hair fraying and tickling Enid's neck making her giggle slightly.

"I'm so glad you're okay, Willa. I was so worried about you." Enid mutters into the top of her head, too quiet for any of the onlookers to hear, except the vampire of course.

Unsurprisingly, Wednesday is the first to pull away, putting the wolf back at arms length away from her.

"How much of this blood is yours? Where are you hurt?" The raven says with an unusual amount of care towards the other girl.

"Oh! Um, I think all of it on my face is mine, but most of the blood on my body is Tyler's, I only have a few cuts in odd places and the gashes on my face." A low growl was all that could be heard.

"I'm going to kill him." Was the only response before Wednesday looks out towards the woods with a snarl.

She moves to step forward, as if she was going to hunt Tyler down herself, when begins to feel light headed and stumbles back into Enid's arms.

Guess I underestimated the amount of blood loss that would occur after being shot with an arrow and stabbed in the stomach.

Everyone around them was in shock at seeing the girl in such a state, used to seeing her ram-rod straight and precise with all movements. Before anyone could say anything Enid is wrapping an arm under both of Wednesdays knees and the other around her neck, lifting her into her arms before rushing away into the school.

Luckily, she manages to make it back to their shared dorm room without being stopped by anyone, teachers or students.

She shoves the door open before softly placing the deathly pale, even more so than usual, girl onto her black sheets.

"Thing! I need you to grab my a couple clean cloths, a bowl of water and the first aid kit I have under the sink." Is said in the direction of the hand, perched on the end of the goths desk, worry radiating off of him.

"Where are you hurt, Wednesday? And before you even say anything, you're clearly in pain and on the verge of passing out. Just let me help you."

Wednesday looks like she was about to argue anyway before thinking better of it and answering with softer than usual "Very well. I had an arrow shot through my shoulder as well as a stab wound on my abdomen." Before adding on, "as long as you let me clean you up afterwards as well."

Enid gasps at the thought of the other girl being stabbed and after checking with the other girl, pulls her once white shirt apart and sets her eyes on the semi-healed stab wound.

The wolf could feel her eyes beginning to water at the sight of the girl she's come to love in such a horrific state. She looks up to her face and sees her eyes closed as she shakily takes a deep breath. As they are waiting for Thing to arrive back with the necessary items to clean the girl up, she takes the time to admire the other girl.

The light freckles decorating her nose and cheekbones, the way her slightly chapped lips twitch every time she takes a breath, how she can hear her heart beating in her chest, reassuring her the girl next to her was still alive.

A few moments later and the sound of a bowl being dragged along the floor reached Enid’s ears. She turns to look at Thing, somehow dragging along a full bowl of water with a black cloth inside. He leaves it by the girls feet before rushing back off to grab the first aid kit.

“Thank you, Thing.”

Enid takes a deep breath before turning to Wednesday, “I’m going to start by cleaning both wounds and then I will stitch them both up, I’m assuming you would rather me do it than the nurse.”

The goths eyes flutter open and settle on the blonde, lips ticking up slightly. “As much as I would rather neither, I know it needs to be done. Proceed.”

Picking up the cloth and squeezing it of excess water, Enid starts to wipe up the blood around the stab wound on Wednesday’s stomach, taking extra care when she sees the slight wince on her face, hating the thought of hurting her.

“I’m sorry, Willa. I’m trying to be as gentle as possible.”

“Do not worry. I can handle it, Sinclair.”

While Enid focuses on cleaning the wound and trying not to hurt the girl, it was Wednesday’s turn to admire the girl in front of her.

Watching as her tongue pokes out slightly as she concentrates on the task on hand, how she tries not to cringe when more blood pours out of the wound.

During her time staring at the other girl she does not notice Thing coming back to the two of them, this time with the first aid kit, leaving it next to the slowly colouring water.

Thing makes sure he’s out of Enid’s eye-line before signing out a quick message to Wednesday, before darting up onto the bed to rest next Enid in case she needed his assistance with the stitches.

‘Youve gone soft on her, you’ve fallen under the curse.”

Enid looks up just as Wednesday sets her dark glare on the hand next to her, “What’s got you so glarey, huh?” She says with a smirk.

Wednesday decides against answering and instead avoids Enid’s eyes and looks at the floorboards next to her bed.

The wolf decides to ignore the unusual behavior and instead speaks up again. “Okay, I’m done with cleaning them, now I’ve just gotta stitch them both up before wrapping them, is that alright?” She starts grabbing the necessary items needed while talking.

“Thank you, Enid. But I can do it myself, well I can do my stomach and Thing can stitch my shoulder.”

“No, Willa. You cannot do it yourself, I know you pride yourself in your abilities, and I have no doubt that you could actually do it but I won’t let you. You kept flinching when I was just cleaning it you would be in too much pain. Plus, I want to help you.”

The only response Enid got was a slight nod from the other girl before her eyes dropped to the floor again.

Enid grabs the needle and thread and starts with her shoulder wound first. At the first stitch, Wednesday squeezes her eyes shut, bringing her hand up to squeeze at the blondes arm.

The girl in question tries not to focus on the cold hand on her arm, or the fact she can feel the other girls breath on her cheek, instead focusing on getting the stitches right. Thing sticking by closely to make sure she does it right.

Wednesday looks up to see Enid staring intently at the task at hand, holding her breath when she realizes how close they are, resisting the urge to lean in and kiss the girl she has come to call a friend.

Maybe I have gotten soft on her.

That very thought scares her more than any monster could. She closes her eyes again, trying to think back on all of their interactions lately that might clue her in to how this happened.

The first memory that came to mind happened two weeks prior, luckily in the safety of their shared dorm.

Enid came into the dorm an hour earlier than Wednesday believed her to be back. She didn’t speak her normal bubbly hello in her direction, nor look at her once while she stuck her coat up on the hook and grabbed her pajamas and stalked over to the bathroom to change.

It takes 10 minutes for her to emerge out of the bathroom and Wednesday turned to look at her from where she was continuing writing her novel on her typewriter. “Enid. How did your date with Ajax go? You were home earlier than I expected.”

Enid looks up in shock, like she had forgotten she shared the space with another person. “Oh! Um, he didn’t show up again and when I text him, he said he has changed his mind about us wishes to just stay friends. It’s okay, though!” She forces out a small smile, trying to convince the Addams girl that it was in fact okay.

Wednesday could see right through her, though and stands up to make her way over to the black tape separating the sides. “Sinclair, do you really expect me to believe that? You have been infatuated with him my entire stay here. I can see that it is upsetting you.”

“Ugh, don’t worry about it Wednesday it doesn’t matter!” Is shouted in the girls direction before the blonde turns on her heel and heads out of the open window to their balcony, shutting the window when she’s out.

Wednesday decides to give the girl a few minutes to calm down, not understanding how she could have upset the girl. She turns to the hand still resting on her desk, muttering, “I do not understand. How did I upset her?”

He’s quick to sign out his response, “it’s not you per se, Wednesday. She’s upset about Ajax and taking it out on you. Try to comfort her.”

“How on earth do I do that? When I tried to when he first abandoned her, she told me I was terrible at comforting.”

The young Addams decides to give it a shot anyway, not wanting to have to deal with an upset Enid for the next few hours.

When she steps out onto the balcony the wolf doesn’t even look up at her, ignoring her presence.

She doesn’t know how to go about with comforting her so she goes to stand next to the other girl in silence, waiting to see if she would speak up first, knowing she hates silence.

It doesn’t take long before the blonde does speak up. “I’m sorry for snapping at you. I’m just confused right now and you were the person who got caught in the crossfire.”

“Do not worry, Sinclair. I have been caught in worse crossfire than your words.” Wednesday mutters back.

Enid finally looks up at her, trying to gage whether or not she was serious. She finds no hint of amusement on her face and decides to just ignore the comment, not wanting to get into it right now.

“I’m just confused because in all honesty, I’m not as hurt as I thought I would be. I mean it still hurts because rejection isn’t brilliant, even if I am used to it.” At that, Enid laughs dryly while Wednesday looks at her in concern. “But I just feel kind of relieved, like I escaped sort of.”

The goth just stares at her for a moment, a hint of a frown on her face. “So, should I get my nail gun or?”

This causes a genuine smile to light up the wolfs face, giggling slightly, making Wednesday feel proud of herself while she feels ants swarming her stomach.

“No, no need to nail gun his heart, Willa. I’m okay, don’t worry.”

At the nickname, Wednesday feels a strange beat crawl it’s way up her neck before settling on her cheeks.

What was happening to her?

Wednesday was shocked back into the present when Enid let’s put a sigh. “One down, one to go. How you doing Willa?”

“I-I’m okay. Continue.” She had to clear her throat before continuing. “You did a good job.”

The praise makes a light blush appear on the blondes cheeks as she ducks her head down with a shy smile on her face.

After a few moments Enid has finishes stitching her up and looks into her eyes for the first time since she started, and Wednesday was shocked to see them watering. Without thinking, she sets her hand on the other girls cheek, wiping away one of the tears that managed to escape, the other girl leaning into her hand, making the most of the infrequent contact and affection.

“Why are you crying?” It was said so softly Enid nearly didn’t believe that Wednesday even spoke, not noticing Thing sneaking off with the bowl and cloth to change them out as well as the water.

“I could’ve lost you tonight, Willa. I don’t think I could survive without you here. I-I need you.” Was said around small sobs.

Wednesday carefully sits up, placing her spare hand to her stomach as she does before taking her hand off of Enid’s cheek, sliding it into the blondes hand that was resting near her leg.

“Enid. When Crackstone stabbed me, I died.” A louder sob broke from the other girls mouth. “But luckily, Goody managed to save me, with the consequence of me not being able to see her anymore. It didn’t heal me, obviously, but it got my heart beating again.” A small pause as she takes a deep breath before continuing. “The thought of you was what got me out of the crypt. Admittedly, I was scared. For you. That Tyler or Crackstone would find you and hurt you. The relief I felt when I saw you as you tackled was palpable. Well done by the way, for finally wolfing out. That must’ve been hard to go through.”

“It was the easiest thing I ever had to do, Willa. Before I found you, I knew you were in pain or in trouble and I just got so angry and the need to protect you came over me. It’s why I wolfed out. When I saw Tyler hovering over you, I snapped. All I could think in that moment was that I wanted to kill him. He hurt you, he deserves to die. I’ve never felt that before in my life and I know that you don’t need it, but I want to be the one to protect you. Always.”

Wednesday continued to stare into the girls eyes as she spoke, guilt overtaken her as she witnesses the emotions flittering over her face until Enid shocks her again.

“I’m in love with you, Wednesday.”

The goth just stares at her, mouth open, for once not having any words to say.

“Omg! I’m sorry! I honestly didn’t think I would say that, omg. Please just forget about this. It never happened. I’m just gonna go have a shower and clean myself up.” Enid stands and turns on her heel, marching towards the bathroom, not grabbing a change of clothes or a towel, quickly locking the door behind her.

The sound of the door slamming and the lock knocks Wednesday out of her stupor, before she finds herself running over to the bathroom door, knocking and shouting.

“Enid! Please, open the door Enid!”

It takes a couple of minutes of knocking before Wednesday hears the lock turning and the door opens slightly and reveals a red faced, teary-eyed Enid.

“You didn’t give me any time to react.” Is all she could mutter at the look on her face.

“The look on your face was enough of a reaction for me, Wednesday. Don’t worry about it, if it makes you uncomfortable I’ll just go stay with Yoko when I’ve cleaned up.” She glides past the Addams girl stuck in the doorway, heading over to her side of the room, grabbing a change of clothes and her pink towel off of her bed.

“No! Enid, please just let me talk. Look at me.” Enid picks her head up and couldn’t quite get herself to look her in the eyes, waiting for the rejection to come.

“You know emotions are not something I bother myself with, but I will try to get this out appropriately. Do you remember the night you returned to the dorm, when Ajax left you?” At the nod she receives, she continues. “When we spoke, I could see the sadness in your eyes whether you tried to hide it or not, and then, I made you smile. A real genuine one. I decided then and there, even thought I didn’t understand why, that I wanted to be the one to make you smile, whether you were sad, angry or just because I love your smile. Since then, I could feel myself growing fonder of you, letting you into my person space, letting you listen to your godawful pop music on your speakers rather than headphones. I even stop my writing time early if you come back into the dorm so that I can fully focus on what whatever you were talking about that happened that day. The day I arrived here, I told my mother that I would never let myself be a housewife, or to fall in love, but as I stand here I feel myself becoming fonder of the idea, as long as it was with you. I’m not in love with you but as I am an Addams, I’m sure I will be soon, but I think I do like you Enid.”

The wolf couldn’t believe her ears. She finally looked the shorter girl in the eye and saw the genuine look of affection coming from her. “I-I don’t really know what to say. Willa, that was adorable.” Wednesday nose scrunches at the word, offended. “I’ve never had anyone speak like that towards me before, no wonder you’re an author, you’re brilliant with words. Wow. So um, does that mean you would be open to trying us out? Dating?”

“I wouldn’t be opposed to it. However, I cannot promise I will be good for you. I will be selfish at times, rude and I cannot guarantee all the affection that you need.”

Enid just smiles softly at her. “That’s okay. That’s what makes you, you Wednesday. Im happy to have you in any way possible, whether I can hug you or kiss you.”

Wednesday just nods, a happy glint Enid has never seen before in her eyes.

“Well, my turn to clean you up now then?”

At that, Thing wonders his way back in, new clothes and fresh water in tow, unaware of the moment the two girls just shared.

Once they were both freshly showered and patched up they decided it was best to share the goths bed for the night, neither wanting to be apart from the other.

So they lay, side by side, hand in hand, Wednesday couldn’t get herself to let Enid any closer in that moment, but happy to have her close to her, before they both fell asleep.

—-

They were both awoken by their dorm room door flinging open, Yoko storming in before stopping short at the bed seeing both the girls in the black bed, still holding hands.

“Huh, what? Enid!”

Enid sits with a start, panicking. “What’s going on?!”

Wednesday on the other hand, rises calmly. “Tanaka you have five seconds to explain why you barged in here before you get a stake in your heart.”

“Um, well, I just wanted to come let you know they canceled the rest of the semester, we all get to go home. Oh! And to tell you that Weems managed to make it out alive.”

That makes a slight relived look flashed over the Addams face, before she speaks again. “Very well, thank you for informing us. Now leave.”

Yoko was quick to do so, but not before shouting a quick “You’re not getting off that easy, Sinclair. I need details!” over her shoulder.

Neither speak, but they both notice the colour on the others cheek before mutually deciding to go back to sleep.
