Chapter 14
Siyeon stayed seated on the floor, arms folded with her head resting on them on the table in front of her, letting out a tiny hum as Minji dragged her nails along her back. It was the weekend and everyone was home rather than doing anything else.
Bora had gotten one of her maids to go grocery shopping for them since she had laid on the couch and decided it was a lazy weekend.
“Groceries will be here in two hours,” Bora mumbled.
“Good,” Minji smiled without taking her attention off Siyeon.
“You should do that to me…” Bora whined, hearing Minji laugh.
“I will. Once this big baby is done,” Minji smiled.
“She’ll never be done…” Bora pouted.
“Siyeon-ah, can Bora have a turn?” Minji asked quietly. She heard a small cry, clearly fake, but she couldn’t help but laugh. “You have to share…” She added with a smile.
“She doesn’t know how to share…” Bora grumbled before getting up.
“I can probably get her to fall asleep. I did this to Yooh once,” Minji whispered before continuing her actions.
It didn’t take long. With the television already at a low volume and the gentle raking of nails, Siyeon was out like a light within minutes.
“Told you,” Minji chuckled before getting up.
“I’ll have to tell Dongie that trick. We struggle to get her to sleep sometimes,” she sighed.
“Move up, I’ll do it to you too.” Minji pushed her up and did the same thing, watching her immediately start to relax.
Bora didn’t even realize how much she loved the feeling. She never realized how much she had missed the little things. Her and Dong had been married a very unconventional way, and it took time to actually form the bond they had now… but her and Minji?
It was always there.
Siyeon woke up hours later, looking around in the dimly lit living room. She somehow ended up on the floor with a blanket draped over her and a small pillow under her head.
She felt her stomach drop at the thought of being alone.
Siyeon hurried to her feet, looking everywhere until she stopped in the hall. She saw the light in the gap where the door met the floor, or rather tried to meet the door. She stepped closer, immediately stopping when she heard the sounds.
“Oh…” She whispered.
Busy. Busy together. That would make sense. Why they left her alone. Not fully just another room. Away from her.
They emerged hours later, and Siyeon stayed put on the couch, focused on the television in front of her.
“You’re awake!” Bora smiled when she saw the blonde curled up in the corner of the sectional. “How are you feeling?” She asked while crawling onto the couch.
“Better…” Siyeon’s voice was quiet, but a good sign she was talking again.
Minji joined them a while later, enjoying their time after Bora explained she wanted to order food instead of cook. She couldn’t help but glance over, seeing the blonde curled up into her side while Bora gently massaged Siyeon’s legs that were draped over her.
It sparked a feeling in her, and she didn’t know why. Usually they hung out together with their spouses. Lunches at work were usually filled with conversations about cases… work they barely saw one another and now? Now it was mundane… quiet… tame even.
She loved her wife to pieces but she couldn’t even remember the last time Yubin relaxed with her. The last time she wasn’t worried about her phone or even anything for that matter.
Her thoughts were disrupted with the doorbell, and she heard Siyeon’s adorable whine when Bora pushed legs off to get the food.
“She’ll be back,” Minji chuckled.
It was a few minutes before Bora walked back, setting the bags on the coffee table.
“They’re staking us out.” She muttered.
“Should we give them a fun time?” Minji asked with a smile.
“We could…” Bora smirked. “Siyeon are you up for a little night walk?” She asked.
“I don’t wanna walk,” Siyeon mumbled.
“You could use the exercise. We didn’t do much today.” Minji sighed.
“Liar.” Bora scoffed.
After their dinner, they went out the front with a slightly unhappy Siyeon.
“Hold my hand?” Minji asked with a smile. She watched as Siyeon grumbled, but still held her hand.
“Let’s go!” Bora smiled.
It didn’t take long before Siyeon let go of Minji’s hand. A small promise that she wouldn’t wander off or too far while they walked. Bora held onto Minji’s arm, enjoying the relaxing time of night.
It was warm, but a cool breeze. Enough for them to really enjoy everything about their surroundings.
But Minji couldn’t entirely enjoy it. She felt clouded. Everything about this plan was kicking up dust from a past she didn’t entirely want to remember.
“Siyeon! Don’t touch that!” Bora shouted, abruptly stopping Minji’s mind. She jumped at the sound and watched as she ran to catch Siyeon from picking up whatever she found.
Minji slowly caught up, just in time to see Siyeon pull crocodile tears and sit on the floor. She couldn’t help but laugh at the action, having to turn away to not encourage the behavior.
She saw the detectives, doing their best to pretend they weren’t following them, but she played it off as if she hadn’t.
“Come on, I think it’s time for bed,” Minji sighed.
She ended up carrying Siyeon, almost hating Bora for having her continue this ridiculous idea of Siyeon needing 24/7 help. But then again it was hard to explain exactly why Siyeon was over.
Bora poked at Siyeon from behind, earning displeased alien sounds from the younger woman. Minji really couldn’t hide her laughter.
“It’s working,” Bora quickly whispered when she got next to Minji.
“Is it now?” Minji asked.
“Mhm. No one wants to talk to a couple with this,” Bora chuckled while gesturing to Siyeon. “It’s perfect. Wait until we go shopping with her.” Bora couldn’t help but let out a slightly evil laugh, allowing Minji to roll her eyes.
“Sing, are you even okay with this whole thing?” Minji sighed.
“I’m enjoying being carried right now, so yes.” Siyeon mumbled.
“It’s still kind of fucked…” Minji sighed.
“We adopted an introvert. It’s fine.” Bora brushed it off with a laugh before getting ahead of Minji to open the door for her.
