Chapter 6
Bora rested her head against Siyeon’s chest, both coming down from their highs. The eldest let out a content sigh, raising her head to kiss the younger’s neck.
“You’re sweaty…” Bora frowned.
“We did a lot…” Siyeon mumbled.
The older woman couldn’t help but let out a mildly quiet laugh before hugging her tighter. It was one of the rare times when she could lay without worries. Without one thought that made her question anything.
“What time is it?” Siyeon mumbled.
“Why do you suddenly care about the time?” Bora whined.
“Dongie got me a personal trainer, I’d rather not be late,” the blonde sat up, wincing at the sudden skin tugging against hers.
“Personal trainer?” Bora frowned.
“Yeah… Going to get muscles…” She whispered.
Bora sat up, a little behind her so she could see how she hunched over herself, hiding as she spoke.
“Muscles?” Bora smirked before pressing her lips against her spine. “You and Dongie are going to be able to carry me everywhere,” She smiled. “And I’ll see your muscles… Mmm, can I watch you work out?” She whispered.
“Don’t you have to work?” Siyeon pouted.
“I do…” Bora sighed, resting her forehead against Siyeon’s back. “I have trial prep this morning and this afternoon I have to be in court…” She frowned.
“You promised you would stay home today!” Siyeon turned quickly, seeing the older woman sigh into her hands.
“I tried! I can’t ignore the case. I have to take care of it or this entire life we have will crumble.” Bora looked so defeated hearing Siyeon’s tone. “Trust me… It’ll take a while… But I’ll be home hopefully for dinner.”
Siyeon rolled her eyes, knowing that meant she would be in bed by the time Bora got home.
The blonde slid out of the bed, ignoring Bora’s call for her as she slid her sweats back on. She threw her tank top on, leaving the master bedroom without another word.
“This fucking girl…” Bora muttered.
Siyeon’s entire day had been entirely unproductive. After her training session, she sat in the hidden living room, curtains drawn shut as she watched her shows. She ate a few snacks but didn’t even bother to eat a proper meal.
She fell asleep on the couch with her fluffy blanket while the show still played when Dong had gotten home.
The younger woman heard the sounds of people talking, and allowed her to peek inside the hidden area to see the blonde curled up on the couch without a care in the world.
“Has she eaten?” Dong asked one of the maids.
“She had a bowl of popcorn, some candies… nothing proper,” the maid answered honestly.
“Make us a proper dinner please.”
“Yes, Ma’am.”
Dong changed out of her work clothes and into more comfortable pants and a hoodie so she could join the blonde. She sat near Siyeon’s head, raking her fingers through the blonde hair gently.
“Siyeon… You have to wake up,” Dong whispered. It took a few tries to fully wake her up, and she couldn’t help but chuckle at the pout that dawned on her face. “It’s almost dinner time,” She whispered.
“I’m not hungry…” Siyeon frowned.
“You haven’t eaten properly today. You need a real meal.”
Siyeon stayed quiet. She didn’t want to speak about her eating habits from today.
“Did you have your training today?” Dong asked.
“Yes.”
“What else did you do?” Dong frowned.
She was met with silence, and Dong knew she had probably spent the entire day in the room. Not bothering to leave for anything unless it was essential.
“Did you play your game?”
Silence.
“Siyeon…”
Dong placed a hand on Siyeon’s shoulder, frowning when she didn’t even react. She bent over, seeing the tears in the blonde’s eyes, causing her to help her sit up now.
“What happened today?” Dong frowned.
“Unnie promised to stay home today… but she ended up going to court… you never go to work and you went to work…” she sniffed.
“Usually, you’re okay with that…” Dong whispered.
“It was right after… I didn’t want to hear it…” Siyeon frowned.
“Right after…?” Dong frowned, tilting her head slightly before the connection was made. “Oh… Oh, Darling…” She sighed before pulling her into a tight embrace. “I’ll talk with her… remind her she can’t keep doing that…” She sighed.
Siyeon stayed clinging to her, playing with the edges of the younger woman’s hoodie while watching the television. She had long forgotten about the show and was now watching whatever popped up on the screen.
“Miss Han, dinner is ready.”
Dong glanced over and nodded to the maid before patting Siyeon’s shoulder to get her to move from their spot, allowing her to stand. She held onto the blonde’s hand, guiding her to the smaller dining area where they could sit together without any worries. Without any horrible feelings between them.
She had gotten Siyeon to eat a little bit, hearing her complain about her stomach still being full from earlier’s snacking time. It didn’t bother her as much as it should’ve but, after the confirmation that she really did eat a lot of snacks, she was okay with her skipping out on eating the normal amount.
Bora walked through the door late, her blouse having a few buttons undone as she walked through, setting her bag on the hook near the door. She slipped her shoes off, and walked through the large home before seeing that most of the lights were off, and no one to greet her… She then checked her phone, face palming at the time. The maids had already retired for the evening over an hour ago, which meant Siyeon was long in bed. She hurried through, stopping abruptly when she saw the lights bouncing off the wall in the hallway.
The little hidden living room. The hidden space they could always find Siyeon relaxing in.
She walked down the hall, peeking in to see Siyeon asleep, blanket over her with her head resting on Dong’s lap. The latter was still awake, eyes fixed on the low volume screen in the corner of the room.
“I’m sorry…” Bora whispered while leaning on the doorframe.
“Don’t apologize to me.” Dong didn’t look up at her wife. She instead rested her elbow on the armrest, placing her free hand on Siyeon’s head. “You told her you had to leave… After you two slept together?” She frowned, eyes finally moving from the screen to Siyeon.
“It just… happened that way… I know I should’ve waited, or told her before, but it was a sudden thing this morning,” Bora frowned.
“Going to work or the other thing?” Dong scoffed.
“The much more pleasurable thing.” Bora glared.
“Bora… She went through a lot. You need to be more mindful of her.”
“I understand she went through a lot! I’m sorry it slipped my mind!” Bora raised her voice slightly, watching her wife slowly turn to face her. “I’m doing what I need to do in order to save your ass. Don’t forget you being alive is mostly my doing these days.” She pointed.
“And you’d have me killed the first chance you got if I ever crossed you. I know,” Dong snapped. “But you also need to understand… Siyeon isn’t the same. She can’t just be dropped like that.”
Bora let out a groan, rubbing her eyes with her hands.
“I understand she isn’t the same anymore,” Bora sighed. “Look… I had a long… Long day,” She whispered. “I just want to go to bed at this point,” She frowned, finally looking back up at her wife.
Bora saw the worried expression on her wife’s face, but not directed at her, but to the woman who was asleep on her lap.
“She has therapy tomorrow,” Dong whispered. “Are you going to be home?” She frowned.
“No… Tomorrow is my in-office day, but I’ll be in court all day.”
“How important is this case?”
“Decision is being appealed… Judge isn’t an easy payoff…”
“And if it's overturned?”
“Yubin’s father gets thrown in prison. I can’t hand this case off to anyone in the firm… It has to be me.” Bora whispered. “I can’t let that happen.”
“As much as I want to say fuck the old guy over…” Dong sighed. “I’ll handle her after… Just… Please promise to be home by sundown for her sake… Please?” She looked up at her wife, pleading with her silently. She needed her wife to be home to help take care of Siyeon after therapy.
“I’ll make it my top priority.”
