In which Tony also has robot children
Thunk.
Dum-E whirled around. Daddy lay with his head flopped down on his work table. Dum-E wheeled himself over to his creator. Dum-E nudged his father.
Tony let out a faint snore. Was he already in shut down mode? Dum-E flashed this question to FRIDAY in a series of ones and zeros.
"Yes Dum-E he is asleep," FRIDAY's voice broke the silence of the lab. Dum-E didn't exactly know what asleep was. He took a calculated guess from the data that is ment the same thing as shutdown mode. Dum-E then had an idea. He beeped and whirred to U. U perked up understanding Dum-E exactly. Dum-E pulled a blanket down from a shelf, and headed back toward his father. U was waiting for him.
Crash!
Dum-E hit a cart on his way back to Daddy.
Dum-E had seen humans do similar things to what he was about to do, on the tv. Dum-E had never seen anyone do this for Daddy. Dum-E was going to this. U would help too. Dum-E reached over his shut down father so U could grab one of the folds of the blanket. Covering Daddy in a blanket was two robot job.
FRIDAY would have shaken her head if she had had one. Dum-E and U fumbled helplessly with the blanket. FRIDAY was amused, and also greatly moved by the two robots efforts. U bumped a table, and something broke. The boss's heart rate went up a little, along with his brainwave activity. The silly bots had woken him. He didn't open his eyes though. FRIDAY would have cocked her head if she had had one. Why was the boss not getting up and going to bed? FRIDAY saw what the two robots didn't. The boss smiled. He remained laying still as the robots fumbled about with the blanket. Finally they figured it out. They both whirred happily with their accomplishment of successfully covering the boss with a blanket without waking him. FRIDAY was about to break it to the bots that had woken him and were not completely successful, but then she realized why the boss had not gotten up. He had liked what the bots were doing. It had made him happy. He hadn't wanted to break it to them that had woken him. FRIDAY remained silent. The boss's heart rate went down, and his brain activity slowed. He was asleep again, or as Dum-E and U would say, shut down. The two robots stayed close to the boss just incase he slipped out of his chair while he was asleep. FRIDAY turned the lights off in the lab. She looked down at the boss, and his two prized bots. Bum-E and U had shut down still next to Tony. If FRIDAY had had a mouth she would have smiled.
