Since childhood, Ruby has had the gift/curse of getting into trouble at the least opportune moments. Whether it's a memory from her past that prompted her to act or a deep hole in the future that she can't escape.
"Mom, why are my eyes different from the rest?" asked a little 5-year-old Ruby, sitting on the sofa at home, staring at her mother with also silver eyes.

Then the bolts stopped, the redhead's confused and surprised expression told Ruby that she was wrong about something, as quick as ever Ruby realized her mistake. Penny never told her her name, and like the robot that she was, she remembered every moment perfectly.

'shit, shit, SHIT!!!' That thought stayed in Ruby's head until she reached one of the tower's panels. The redhead became attentive, and Ruby just I can pray that this won't get any more complicated than it needs to be.
Another lie to the sack or one more misstep could add to the weight of Penny's growing distrust of her. But she would risk it, and she had once lied to Ironwood and believed her.
