What Have I Done?
Zuzana kept running but was a little puzzled, she knew the shot would have at least grazed Acair's leg but the man didn't slow down once. She had to admit to, Acair was an incredibly fast runner with a long-endurance, almost like he was an Olympic runner for a living. Although something felt off as she no longer heard Dusk slashing her blade around to create a path and when she looked to her side, she noticed she wasn't right to her left like before. So she looked behind her and suddenly skidded to a halt, a bit of horror sinking deep within her gut as she found herself running for Dusk. "Dusk! I'm sorry did I miss shoot your leg or something by mistake?" Her voice calm and even as she ran up to Dusk and started to slow down, making sure not to step on her.
Even if she did shoot Dusk she'd get over it soon, she's almost done it once before and she wasn't as mad as she thought Dusk would be. Though when she slowed down she saw more blood then she would have thought and her hand suddenly went to cover her mouth, her eyes widen in horror as Dusk was laying on the cold forest floor, with a bullet wound through her head. The back of her skull had been busted wide open from the bullet wound, to the point of where most of the back of her skull was gone, pieces of her brain was flown in every direction, along with parts of her skull and short brown dyed hair. Zuzana slowly lowered her hand and walked over to Dusk, kneeling down by her head and not minding the blood that covered her hands as she lifted Dusk's lifeless body into her arms and managed to gently turn her over. Her expression looked surprised, the bullet hole was a clean entry point right between her eyes.
Zuzana simply closed Dusk's eyes as tears started to appear as for once, Zuzana knew she was alone. That was why she choose this time of night to do this exchange but....Dusk's death was her fault. Zuzana simply just started to silently cry as tears ran down her cheeks, some landing on Dusk's cheeks and running down the sides of her face, and some to the ground. How could she do this to Dusk? All she wanted was to see her brother and...she took away that right. Zuzana's tears still kept flowing as she gently began to pick up Dusk in her eyes, her eyes closed and her blood-soaked open head resting on Zuzana's chest and shoulder and began to walk back to the car. Zuzana felt like her heart had been ripped out...sure it would heal in time, but it would leave another hole in her life that she would never forget.
Soon Zuzana found herself thinking of the past with Dusk. How much they may have fought, tried to beat the crap out of each other, or teased each other. Dusk never once truly blew up at her and meant it. The way Dusk would even help out the servants when she was bored, or shop or do a few simple things for Zuzana as favors for later is what she called it. Zuzana found herself smiling despite her beat red face, runny nose, and puffy eyes. All while being covered in Dusk's blood. She'd give Dusk a proper burial just like how she couldn't with Dominika. Hell, she only let Dusk call her Zee-Zee because Dominika did...Dusk reminded her of Dominka. Two people now that she would never get back, although this time, it was by her hand with Dusk. Zuzana simply tried to get free from the now painful memories that would soon come as she managed to get Dusk into the back seat of the car, laying out as peacefully as she could make it, and covering Dusk's body up with a small blanket from the trunk before she got into the front seat and began to drive back home.
Bloodstains and handprints were all covering the car, not to mention the blood pool and stains that Dusk's body was creating. Zuzana simply sighed, even if Dusk wanted to be buried, she planned on cremation, it brought back to many painful memories to bury her. If she ever sees Dusk's brother again though, she planned on telling him what happened. What she did, she wouldn't blame him for killing his sister, all because she just wanted to see him. Zuzana sighed as she found herself taking the back roads, lost in her own thoughts as she kept wiping away tears that kept on flowing. Zuzana occasionally glanced back at the blood-covered sheet that hid the body of Dusk Henderson just hoping it was all a dream and she would pull the sheets away and start to yell at Zuzana...but that would never happen, no matter how much she wished it would. Although now she would have to fire a lot of people and possibly destroy her old rooms that Dusk did value. Then again that might not be a good idea...she wasn't quite sure just yet. Zuzana simply sighed and kept driving, it took maybe an hour or so more if she took all the backroads but, she needed the time to herself.
