Maybe im not alone
Chapter 6
When peter woke up he was being shaken awake.
“Ugh not now….to early-”
“Cmon peter! Its 6:58! We are gonna be late.”
Peter was up in an instant. Emilie was holding out his bag and a pair of jeans and a t shirt. He slipped on his t shirt and emilie dashed out the door.
When they were finally ready to go it was 7:10
Emilie wasn't very happy about it.
When they got in the car though she was excited.
Then happy started talking
“So emilie was it? Why do you want to go to school?”
“Um because…. It seems fun!”
Happy chuckled and peter rolled his eyes
“Not to sound annoying but when will we get there?”
“Um about an hour.”
Emilie whined a little but then just leaned against the window ledge.
For most of the car ride emilie and peter were silent. Then there was a ping from peters phone.
It was from the group chat
Micky Js: peter where the hell are you!
Neddy Skywalker: yeah didn't you hear that there was decathlon practice this morning!
Micky Js: peter answer us please.
Neddy Skywalker: are you hurt.
Micky Js: are you hanging out with that girl from yesterday?
Micky Js: because i'm sure that liz would like to hear that
Micky Js: hello?
Underoos: sorry i slept in and emilie is not my girlfriend.
Neddy Skywalker: okay good. So are you in the car now?
Underoos: yeah and emilie is coming to school with me today. So i'm sorry if she asks a bunch of questions.
Neddy Skywalker: is she really wanda's sister?
Underoos: yeah and she is like my little sister as well. She had to shake me away this morning.
Micky Js: okay we'll see you at school. And ned your questions are limited to 10 every three hours
Neddy Skywalker: :(
Underoos: alright bye guys
As peter clicked off his phone he noticed that emilie fell asleep. He tried shaking her awake but it didn't work. He tried flicking her and it didn't work. He had no other choice if he wanted her up now. They were almost at the school.
He started to tickle her and it worked, she was laughing so hard she couldn't breathe.
She picked up her glasses and put them on. Peter smiled and remembered when he needed glasses.
“Alright you punks were here.”
Peter and emilie got out of the car and emilie raced up the stairs.
“Emilie! Slow down you could run into som-”
And as emilie ran she ran strait into flash. flash looked at her and looked like he won a million dollars.
“Woah easy girl! And who are you?” he said with his cat calling voice
“Emilie! Can you tell me where room uhh… B-104 is?”
Flash looked at peter and flash placed his arm around her shoulder.
Peter never wanted to beat up flash so much in that moment.
“Why don't i show you.”
And they walked away. Peter went to look for Mj of ned but found no one. He shrugged it off and kept walking. He walked into the classroom to see flash sitting with emilie behind a computer. Emilie was looking at something and flash was trying to get closer. Emilie had no idea what it was though.
“And that is how you set up instagram.”
“Thanks flash! Um okay class should start soon so yeah. Ummm-”
“Hey parker! What Are you doing? Getting your girlfriend back, sorry that ain't happening.”
Peter walked to the empty chair next to emilie.
“No, she isnt my girlfriend.”
“Good.”
Flashes smirk said it all. Peter frowned and emilie looked very confused.
Then everyone started to come in and flashed waved emilie goodbye. He flipped off peter and finally left.
Mj came through the door and sat next to emilie
Soon enough the lesson started
“Alright class today we are going to…”
And he continued on. Emilie understood the concept pretty well and the teacher helped her a little too.
Then the bell rang and everyone split off. Peter tried to get to class with emilie but she didn't want to go. She wanted to talk to everyone.
Once they finally got to science it was 5 minutes to late.
“Peter! Your late. And um miss…”
“Emilie.”
“Okay emilie, you are late as well. Detention for both of you tomorrow until 5.”
They both nodded and sat down.
They listened and soon it was lunchtime
“Hey, peter. Where do i get lunch?”
“The cafeteria, c’mon let's go.”
They started walking and flash ran up and picked up emilie.
“Flash! Put me down!”
He smiled and put her down. He then put his arm around emilies shoulder and started to walk her away from peter. Peter didn't notice.
Emilie looked around the cafeteria and went to the line. She got some pizza and looked around for a place to sit. There was a group of girls and so she sat down there
They looked at her weirdly and she just smiled.
Then a girl spoke up.
“Hi! My names betty. And who are-”
“Emilie, emilie maximoff.”
“Maximoff?! Cool. this is the cheerleaders table. Wanna tryout?”
“Totally! What do i do?”
“come to the gym at 3 tomorrow and you can show us what you can do. Basically just show us if you can do a flip and the splits and look pretty doing it.”
“Nice.”
Peter meanwhile was looking for a spot. He didn't sit with the decathlon team anymore but he usually sat with ned or mj. He still couldn't find them and so he just sat at the back near an empty table.
He started eating when flash came up to him.
“Ugh what now flash?”
“What is it is that i want you to stay away from emilie.”
“Kinda can't do that.”
“ and why is that now…”
“Ugh whatever just leave me alone.”
“Ehhh… dont want to.”
And so by the end of lunch he had a bruise everywhere on his body. Other than his face of coarse.
When they went to class emilie was looking for peter and peter was trying to get to his locker. After 15 minutes they were finally on there way to class.

“What do you mean SI needs a new intern!”
Tony was mad but he was also confused.
“Our competitors said that they have a new field and they have a young intern in the field as well. The young intern collects data about the new stuff and posts it online.”
“I still don't see why we can't use peter or even emily.”
“Well i got an email from one businessman and he has a son who goes to the same school as peter. I checked the profile and its quite popular. And it doesn't matter what you think. I am the CEO of SI now so i say yes.”
Tony couldn't fight with pepper about that one.
“Okay, happy can pick him up after school. What's his name again?”
“Eugene ‘flash’ thompson.”
“Okay, i'll give him a tour and tell him what he has to do.”
“Good, make sure he at least meets someone like cap and takes a picture with him. “
“Will do. Bye hon.”
“Bye.”
He hung up the phone. Tony couldn't help but feel like he had heard of the name before.
He phoned up happy and told him to be expecting 3 teens in the car on the way home.
Happy grunted and hung up.

At the end of the day peter and emilie were walking outside and they walked over to happys car.
As they were though flash stopped them.
“What is it flash?”
“I'm coming with you guys. I gotta meet with tony. I'm getting an internship.”
Emilie smiled and peter rolled his eyes. The three walked towards the car. Emilie in between them.
When they got to the car happy didn't talk until a half an hour into the car ride.
“So um, we may be here a while, sorry guys.”
“It's fine happy.”
Emilie spoke and she yawned. After a couple minutes she was fast asleep against peters shoulder. She was shorter than both boys by 6 inches so she was tiny to them. Flash looked at her and then at peter.
“Ugh, wow penis. This is the closest you have ever been to a straight girl isn't it.”
Flash then grabbed her head and moved it to his shoulder. She grunted and then relaxed onto the new surface.
After 45 minutes they were finally at the tower. Flash grumbled at emilie and got up. She fell straight into the seat and woke up with a start.
“Ugh… ow flash what the hell.”
Flash didnt hear it though and so she got up and started walking to the entrance.
There in the lobby was tony stark and Steve rogers. Flash was taking a selfie with cap and he didn't seem to enjoy it. Emilie was too tired to really care though.
She leaned against cap and as soon as flash was gone she was in his arms. And then soon she was asleep.
Cap carried her to her room and placed her bag on her desk. Peter meanwhile was in his room doing homework.
Flash noticed that peter wasn't following tony and him. Instead he was going with steve and emilie up the elevator.
“-And you will take pictures and post them online everyday with captions to make SI look good. Is that understood?”
Flash nodded.
“So rules. 1 don't come anywhere above level 15 unless if an absolute emergency appears or you are invited up. 2, you will come to the tower every other day and 3 under no circumstance are you aloud on the penthouse level unless invited by me or pepper, is that understood.”
Flash nodded again.
“Alright so if you have any questions ask them now”
“Where is peter and emilie?”
Tony thought for a second.
“Emilie is in her room and peter is helping dr. banner with something.”
Flash nodded and they continued the tour
After an hour flash was finally going up to the penthouse.
The first thing he saw was peter in the hallway clearly about to climb the wall.
Tony frowned and flash looked at him with a puzzled look.
“Oh hey Ton-Mr. Stark! Clint said that he wanted to make these um adhesive gloves so he could stick the landing better, umm-”
“Okay we can talk about this later anyways, this is flash. Do you want to take him on a tour of the penthouse?”
“Umm, sure i guess.”
Tony smiled and handed flash over. Peter gave tony a death glare and he started to walk flash around.
“So parker, where does emilie sleep?”
“What the fu… um in her room. You not even supposed to come up here anyways…”
Peter showed flash around. Surprisingly he didn't make any snarky remarks or call him ‘penis parker’ at all. When they were done the tour flash went back down to the lobby and peter finally got some peace and quiet.
There was a knock on the door.
“Come in.”
“ ‘eter…”
“Hey em, um what are you doing up?”
“Mm... the buzzing.”
“What buzzing?”
“The buzzing from the kitchen.”
Peter rushed towards her and caught her as she fell.
Then the warning bells from FRIDAYs speakers rang.
“Emilie, please wake up.. There is an emergency!”
He picked her up and placed her on his back.
Peter rushed to her room and started to tickle her. She didn't wake up
“C’mon emi, wake up!”
He grabbed her and raced towards the kitchen
“Guys! What is happening?”
Peter saw that wanda and pietro were on the ground and bucky was in the arms of steve. Steve was covering buckys arm and bucky was also asleep.
“PETER! Whatever you do don't let go of emilie and cover her eyes!”
There was smoke around them and people coming through the door.
They looked around and then left.
As soon as they did emilie woke up.
“What happened?”
“HYDRA came for you.” steve said
Emilie started breathing heavy and started to panic
Steve who was holding bucky came over and hugged her.
“Its okay. As long as your identification can be seen then they wont know its you.”
Bucky spoke and emilie calmed a bit.
“Now that your up, what do you want for dinner.”

After dinner peter headed towards his room but heard something.
It sounded like stomping but slow.
He opened a door to an empty room. He listened more and still nothing.
He used the elevator and went down to the training room to see purple magic swirling the room. Emilie in the middle. Of it.
She was not only singing but she was also dancing.
It all became so lovely

I tried to learn to smile

She was twirling in the air. Spinning and dancing gracefully
Maybe I'll find myself sitting on that distant shore

Then everything became more sharp, he colourful magic becoming darker and quicker in flow.
Then I see the colors fading
Gentleness of light escaping
Shadows of my fear invading, have I seen this all before?
She floated up to the ceiling and her back arched back. She then swirled around gracefully again.
I know that there's something residing
A terror deep inside me
I couldn't understand how you could be so bold
She looked directly at peter and smiled.
She started to float to the ground
Maybe I'll find myself smiling on that distant shore
Maybe I'm not alone
She stopped and looked at peter.
“I didn't know you could dance.”
“Me neither.”
They went back to there rooms and thought about the last lyric of the song.
Maybe i'm not alone.
