Regulus

Drabble 4 - Clarity by Kurt Hugo Schneider, Sam Tsui

Regulus Black, at the end.

Regulus had always been the weak brother.

Smaller, weaker, never as bright. While he glowed, Sirius shone so brightly. He didn't care then. Sirius was easy to drown into. He was the one he chased relentlessly as a child.

They fought a lot, when they were in Hogwarts. It was insanity in their family.

Regulus wanted to make amends.

He'd gotten so afraid and angry, he'd lose all common sense. Sirius would push and push; Regulus ran. But Sirius never chased after him.

In the end, it would conclude in tragedy—but only for Regulus. If this worked, if he succeeded, Sirius would be free and happy, and only Regulus would end in tragedy.

Regulus would be strong—for his brother.
